    I'm so disgusted by the priests who did not automatically go to the authorities. Don't get me started on the Catholic Church hiding crimes. 😠
    Shame on Father Feit for robbing her of her life!! 💔 AND for clearing Father Porter, who was a child abuser. All of that could have been avoided. Those children suffered unnecessary trauma.
    Poor Irene. 😢 She looked so, so cute at 3:05. What a tragedy. She seemed so full of life. Absolutely heartbreaking. 💔
    Despite the nature of these videos, I love your channel. ❤️

    As soon as you mentioned Father Feit, I knew what case that was. I'll tell you this - I'm a Catholic. In all the scandals in the Church that have even included a priest I personally knew, I was distressed personally but not faith-wise. To me it's like a bad pope - if you know Catholic history, you know we've gotten some stinkers. BUT THIS CASE! This case actually shook my Catholic heart and soul to its very depths! . . . Thank you for all that you do, my dear crime buff friend, and for portraying Irene's case!

    Tiny, tiny detail - the California Men's Colony is in San Luis Obispo, not Saint Luis. I live close by and it's actually in a beautiful area.
    It's awful to hear about criminals who die before they're brought to justice. Or, like in Father Feit's case, he got to live a long life free as a bird after robbing Irene of her life and traumatizing many others.

    Those priests who kept Feit's secret all those years should have been charged as accomplices after the fact. Luckily, Feit appears not to have killed or attacked anyone else in his life, but if he had, the blood of those victims would have been on those priests' hands.

      It shakes my faith every time stories like that come out. Faith in our justice system, as well as organized religion. These things are unforgivable.

    • @VioletJoy
      @VioletJoy 7 місяців тому +14

      @@TiesOfZipTo be fair, the criminal priests have to first be turned into authorities before they can be convicted and imprisoned.
      I personally have zero faith in religion. There are millions of examples as to why. This video shows a handful of them.

    • @alawishesal22
      @alawishesal22 7 місяців тому +12

      @DJJ81 I am with you there. I was born and raised Catholic. I have a hard time claiming that religion because of the disturbing cover ups, especially involving kids. It just blows my mind. I have yet to join any organized religion because it seems like the ones that run them or teach the word, are the most corrupt and use the Bible / their title to dismiss themselves. It's so disgusting and disappointing 😞 😢

    SG ' Another great video! I always especially appreciate the effort you go to to provide accurate, interesting visuals to accompany each story. It provides us with some context for the people and places you're describing (in your silken tones 🤭).
    [This is next part is question that you may already have answered. Just ignore me if you have. 😁]
    Early in the Susan Winters case, you mentioned that Dr. Brent Dennis was a psychologisr. You really did mean psychologist (not psychiatrist), right? Weird question, I know, but I'm only asking because later it was suggested that he may have killed Susan because he was worried about losing his medical license if she revealed his drug addiction. As a clinical psychologist, he would have a license to lose for sure; it just wouldn't be a medical license. (And in most states not be able to write prescriptions). Not having an MD would also explain his buying meds from his clients 😨 to support his addiction.

    It took 57 years to bring justice to Irene, how sad that a religious community would cover up a murder and assault. Sadly, this is far from an isolated case, there is a clear connection between abuse and church.

    Before I proceed, I'm not condoning what this piece of crap priest did at all. With that being said....
    I'm Catholic and know of the horribly bad raps that have come about the Catholic church, however, when she said the two Catholic priests came forward and said that he had confessed to killing her, my eyes got big as saucers and I gasped. I am not one of those Catholics who attends church but I follow pretty much of the Catholic faith and beliefs.
    I'm curious as to whether he confessed during a confessional between him and these individual priests or if he just outright said it randomly. If told during an actual confession in a confessional booth, priests are bound to secrecy NO MATTER WHAT THE CONFESSION, end of discussion. It is a person confessing to God through the physical being of a Priest. That's the cut and dry of a confession in a Catholic setting.
    We've all seen it in television shows where someone confesses to a priest about a horrible crime and the priest tries to assist police with what he knows without actually saying what was told. Same situation with this guy. I'm wondering how they came upon breaking their solemn oath of the church.
