I have watched several videos on filofax including many of yours and I cannot wait to get mine. I ordered one from the only store in my city that carries filofax as I had to wait for the raspberry finsbury to come back into stock which it finally has. I cannot wait to get started. I am a scrapbooker and I have so many ideas from watching the videos and my own so I cannot wait to get started. I will post youtube videos of mine once I get started. My favorite color is purple as well! Thanks!
I appreciate your videos so much! I'm just starting with Filofax after wanting one so badly in the 80's and dealing with so many planners that didn't work for me. The individualism is so much fun or so much not a lot of work - whichever way you want to go! I just have a little pocket and I'm on a long backorder for my first personal size Malden. TFS! - Pat
I've had a an organizer since I was around 17, but it's not untill a few weeks ago I started to get into the decorating with stickers and washi tape. It can be addicting :o)
Me gustan tus videos! saludos de Venezuela, I want one Filofax but a don´t know when is the best time to get on sale I'm a cake disigner so it will be fantastic to organize me.
Do you have any other videos or photos you can direct me to that includes more information on how you have incorporated the Mead calendar? I came across that format recently and have been considering including it as part of my 2014 set up.
Hi Jennifer, I love your videos!!! I know you show your planner set ups but do you have any videos that explain the order in which you place your week, month, etc. Which do you put first and what seems to be the best order in which to place the household stuff. I sometimes get confused on what should go where and then it kind of meshes together and it seems to be more disorganized!! Also do you keep your bills in with your grocery, entertainment cost, etc? Or should that have its own section?
Shaun Sisk Hi Shaun. This is really for you to figure out. I like to place my weekly inserts in the middle of the planner so that it helps the planner open flat so that there is an equal amount of inserts on both sides. Not sure if that makes sense. The order usually goes, Notes, Lists, Weekly, Monthly, Financial, and Addresses. Maybe you can also arrange them in order of importance? This is something that you just have to figure out with time. The sections you flip thought the most should be towards the front of your planner. Just my opinion.
I have always used Franklin Covey but think I might like to change things up a bit. Can anyone tell me what comes in a Filofax? Meaning what kind of inserts or do you have to purchase them individually?
Great video! Now you know I can't deal with decorated pages, but I see how they can help some folks. I think you're totally right; the beauty is the customizable nature of the planner setup. My organizer is SO different from yours (a major difference is that I only use one!) but it works beautifully for me. So many possibilities. Thanks!
I am really into journaling, including art journal. I have tried several iPad apps but as paper lover (I am a scrapbooker) I am always back to physical organiser. I am also a fans of SMASH book which I use it more for diary than organiser, but I found the size is too big. I am thinking to get one Filofax because I like the idea of using my own paper, but not sure which size I have to buy. Filofax is not available in the country where I live so I can only imagine the sizes from online shops. Apart of organising my daily life, I am going to use it as diary as well, or travel journal if do traveling. So the chance that I am going to doodle on it is big. Could you (or anybody) recommend me which size is suitable for the purpose? A5 or Personal size? Thanks.
If you are comfortable with an A5 size then I say stick with an A5 size. You can get a Personal size, but it does really differ in size. Think about your writing size. Think about what you would actually put into your organiser. A personal size can fill up quite quick. But as far as portability, I think it is easier. It also depends if you used to carrying an organiser around. When I first got into Filofax I felt that a Personal was too heavy. Now I'm used to it.If you need the writing space to draw and journal I would go for an A5, but if size is a factor, then I say go for Personal size.
I totally see the appeal of a nice Filofax! But I'm not so sure about the money argument. ;-) Yes, you don't have to buy a new expensive binder every year, just the inserts. But these cost nearly as much as a normal bound Moleskine planner - and if you get Filofax-Fever you spend on: several inserts (maybe switching during the year), washi tape, stickers, markers, pens, special punchers, paper cutters, personalized tabs, sticky notes and on and on... ;-) So fun? Yeah, totally. Cheap? Not really.

Can you share what tabs you have in your A5? I am in the process of setting one up and am wondering how I should divide it up.

Love the video. I have a question. Where did you get the business card refills for that size planner. Great idea! Thanks for posting.
I'm glad to hear that someone else besides me is a pen fanatic! I have at least 40 different kinds
I do have a different question. I could not afford the filofax so I bought the franklin covey. Can I use filofax pages in a franklin covey.
Yes you can. But not vice versa. Franklin Covey Inserts are wider than Filofax.
Oh ok ty
I asked for a Filofax for my birthday. Will a personal size fit in my purse say a tote side purse or medium size purse? Linda

What is the slim zip around you are using called? What size? Thx!!
I have the same question.
Where do you get your pens at?
Is it just my ipad or is the volume really soft?
