We need more nuclear power plants in Africa, particularly nuclear power via Thorium reactors. This is a source of clean, safe and virtually unlimited energy. Additionally this can prevent conflict between countries that are in disagreement over hydroelectric damns. Ethiopia and Egypt have been at loggerhead over the former’s use of the Blue Nile River hydroelectric damn project, which it needs for sustained development. This is how it is going to work- (not my opinion) Russia is going to "loan" the countries 25 billion USD to build 85% of the plant. Russia will own the other 15% share. As/if the loans become difficult to repay, Russia will accept additional shares of the plant as repayment. See whats happening now? Absolute genius....

To be honest with you the technology in the world has advanced so much there really isn’t too much of a need for nuclear power plants and some of these alternatives are just as powerful. There are other options that are as beneficial.
Nuclear is the cleanest and most reliable source of industrial power. No country has developed using the alternative energy sources. Countries like Germany, Australia, USA, England, Japan that were the foremost in advocating for renewables are today using more fossil fuels than they have ever used before. The green experiment failed in these countries and they reverted back to the reliable sources. Invest in manufacturing using any and all the available technologies. When the economies are strong, then one can start looking at the luxuries of the green talk. Until then, the collective west will make all promises but will deliver zero. In 2009, the collective west pledged $100 billion a year for green transition, $0 has been delivered to date. They just want to retain the status quo. Today, Africa contributes about 3% of global greenhouse emissions. Africa shouldn't even be engaged in the renewable talks. In the 1990s the narrative was pollution in a bid to stall China's industrialisation. Today the talk has changed to climate change 😅

There are a lot of dangers with this. BF should be careful.
And this is the main deference between Russia and Western Europe and USA - Western Europe and USA funds top of politics to keep loyal government but Russia building nuclear power plant to bring electricity and create lot of workplaces, will prepare local tech specialists and most likely in future this will give start for own educational program about nuclear energy. I'm sure not all citizens of Burkina Faso yet realized what economical and social push can do nuclear power plant - affordable electricity will increase light day, allow to use electrical tools, household appliances and many other things, will make cheaper almost everything. Even simple electrical water pump with water tower in each village will change life. Russia will do more for the country in a few years than Western Europe can do in decades

Afrikan countries can use similar measures as they deal with their own nuclear development.
There is no need to rationalize denial of nuclear energy to Afrikan countries, not when some of those countries remain under powered while the countries such as France remain powered based on their resources!
There are over 400 nuclear power plants in operation today. Assuming one blew up, that is less than 0.25% of a chance of an occurrence. It is a minor risk

Burkina Faso needs to be careful he NEEDS engineers to properly maintain the nuclear power plant if it goes into disrepair it can be devastating for the country
