    Is NDU a vocation, or is it something you immediately get posted to upon enlistment? And if it is something you get posted to upon enlistment, do you have to go through both BMT and CDC at the same time?

    • @commanderbacara225
      @commanderbacara225 5 років тому +15

      NDU is a mono-intake unit. You will report to Sembawang Camp directly for your BMT instead of Tekong and then complete the full CDC course after your 2.5 months+ of BMT. It is not a vocation that you can take directly from Tekong. RSN Manpower will decide if they want you before you enlist.

      @morpheusmcknight3659 9 років тому +2

      Mihir Prem With only a few exceptions, active duty soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines are allowed to have their vision corrected with laser eye surgery and not worry about it affecting their careers.Laser eye surgery accomplished before a member enters active duty continues to be a medical dis-qualifier. However, medical waivers are possible. See the Laser Eye Surgery Medical Waiver Policy page for more information. That being said,there are plenty of diving schools to join here in the U.S. and one may acquire a CDL[commercial diving license] with a seven month course, this course will lead to a license and can also be internationally recognized by many countries.I hope that helps.

    The episodes are really too short. How about hitting at least 10 to 15 mins per episode.
    If you are going to offer trailers and build up hype, a 6:36 minute video each week just doesn't do justice to the effort put in. Both to the efforts of the film crew, and the unit whose training you had to disrupt in order to conduct the filming.

      loo steven they are also NDU men, meaning they were once in the shoes of these trainees. Not only did they go through the same (or worse, as it was last time) training as the current ones to become NDU men, many of the regulars go on to achieve many other things, such as passing from US Navy Seals training and other overseas courses which are meant for experienced NDU men. These courses are of course much more difficult than CDC which qualified you to become a new NDU man.

    I used to run 2.4 km averaging at 8 min 40s. And then NS happened... I became slower. The result of destructive training, lack of support for people who want to continue training in their own time, enforced meal times, useless work, etc. Yup. NS made me unfit and caused me more injuries due to the negligence of superiors. Never show them you are good or they will make sure you are destroyed. So strive to come in 10th best. You'll be off their radar and you can achieve what you want.

    • @SJIsles
      @SJIsles 4 роки тому +2

      @@thiskeithlee I am not trying to make anything look bad. It depends on which camp you end up in and who become your superiors/trainers/MO/peers. This has been my personal experience so don't try to make guesses about who I am, what I did or what happened. If anything was my fault, it was this: I did not write to higher command and copy the relevant ministries so that the abusive superiors can get charged. Finally when I had enough, I simply informed my new approachable OC and he gave friendly warnings to the MO on two occasions after which the MO was a little bit more careful in assessing the damage he had been party to. As for the food, things have clearly changed now with SFI stepping in to provide better planned nutritional meals with OPTIONS to choose what you want to eat. These weren't available during my active days. There were just lousy cooks with rubbish served on the plate and you are expected to gobble everything slammed into your mess tray as you are go down the "buffet" line and you had to finish every damn thing that was put there be they with worms or not.

      Firstly, instead of being on UA-cam, go for some history classes. The US wasn’t losing the war. The USA withdrew from the war because of internal political pressure. Secondly, there is a reason why no one attacks Singapore. Those “bigger” men I spoke of, are one of the major reasons.it’s not really difficult to face that fact.
