I could never drill a tr6 dash for a usb plug but then i am old stock and for me if the usb does not fit into that hole then get one which does......for me the dash is something that should never be modified and i think modern devices look ugly when inserted.....i saw one tr6 and the owner had installed a cigarette lighter into his dash and it ruined the entire look of the inside of the car which was otherwise pretty perferct. I think even if it makes sense to install it as we all want usb ports and indeed they are essential, i do believe that they should be placed under the dash at a lower eye level where you can only see them if you bend down a bit. But look, if it going to make the owner love and drive their car then put as many as you like into the dash......its just down to personal choice at the end of the day. Thats a lovely dash.
Yes, that is a very valid point. We all see it differently and have our own likes and dislikes. I personally am not a fan of under dash connections like usb ports as to me it's like a boy racer style of adding things. Now, in saying that, it depends on the car also. i wouldn't put a usb on a mga or austin healy dash, so it depends on the car itself. The tr6 is not bad to mordern up a bit, but at the end of the day, as you said, it's the owners' likes that matter only. No one is right or wrong, really.
