Okay, but what about so called great samsung censorship of all japanese symbols on samsung mobile devices right around the period of time the rebranding happened, thus pumping Apple's success in the region?

Great analysis! I remember when I first heard of the topic, I was quite surprised that a major brand like Samsung would hide their name. Great to hear that the social barriers are small enough for Samsung to show their brand again! I'd also like to mention another thing...I believe there was a scandal a few years ago involving Samsung's Android UI, TouchWiz (legacy versions of OneUI), where they changed the Japanese flags emoji to Korean flags, which understandably upset many Japanese people.

Thank you for the comment, Jerry. And I agree with you on the fact that there were more reasons to Samsung's brand hiding stance than the factors mentioned in this video.

Samsung TV's were sold as Galaxy TV's in Japan before?

Japan has been not too nice to Korea back in the day and many of the older Korean adults dislike Japan and Japanese older adults think of Korea as competition and back and forth and stuff...

I'm guessing they only did this because no Japanese phone brand is making sales worldwide.
