I'm gutted for the lad but was in high spirts seeing him smiling after the game, with a dislocated shoulder its a difficult issue, I'm sure we'll get him back in no time.
@@anandja8544 Apart from the potential shove by Joelington, the goal was clean. I could argue it could've been given a foul by him, but many things could've gone differently in the game as well. Salty Arsenal fan here! Mad at the loss, but not the manner of it. Havertz should've been sent off in my opinion. We (Gunners) can complain about the goal all we want but fact of the matter is we did not provide anything resembling a response. We clawed our way back at Stamford Bridge, we did no such thing here. Fair play to you Newcastle ✌
@ArsenalGunners89 That's very fair, I thought it was a great game, maybe not the best quality as we were cancelling each other out but the commitment from both sides was immense. Arsenal fought hard. didn't know they had that in them to be honest. I like many have looked at the goal a hundred times and still can't find a reason to disallow it but it could easily have due to opinion. The "foul", seems to me Gabriel did what many do, he went down before being touched excepting it where if he'd stood his ground, he'd probably have done much better. I'm delighted with the win, still upset with the Liverpool result because we threw that one away, no complaints about anything else this season. I'm still at the stage of being happy we are competing near the top compared to where we were 2 years ago, today showed it has very little to do with money (just look at what the others have spent in comparison), and more about coaching, and team spirit.
Spot on. Arteta's little melt down reminds me of Steve Bruce tbh - full of excuses for failing, and no personal responsibility - which becomes tiresome very quickly as a fan. From my view, despite their possession and silky play, Arsenal didn't look a threat at any point in the game, with Newcastle creating far more chances. And the goal ultimately came about because the Arsenal defence went to sleep/made a mistake and didn't chase that loose ball that Willock rescued. If they'd done that, then no assist and no goal ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I think if that goal doesn't go in we get a much better game for the last 30 or so minutes rather than Newcastle just sitting back with so many behind the ball. Credit to their defense though, they were very physical but we also didn't attack well. Hard to break down a team like them, especially without enough creativity on the pitch. Even contest though and a really exciting game, would of been great to see a team score an undisputable goal or see the game finish 0-0 as that would of been a fair result. Havetz challenge is 100% not a red card, don't understand how that isn't obvious. You are allowed to leave your feet, the trailing leg makes contact and there is contact but nothing else needs to come from that. Bruno should of been sent off, red or 2 yellows. You can't hit someone on the head like that and he did it 3 times.
Bruno needs to stop hitting people in the back of the head, what's he playing at? Red card inbound! Absolute madness, like when suarez used to bite people.
8:04 Gabriel is very clearly not going down when the contact is made. He went to ground because he was pushed with both hands in a challenge for the ball. That is as clear a foul as it gets. Incredible to conclude that there is no foul there
Some toon was trying to explain to me that Gabriel was trying to do a "diving header" and was already leaping forward. He is trying to flick the ball on but that is very hard to do with an 80+ kg man leaping into you with his hand on your back. You remove the hands and Gabriel makes that header, simple as that. I didn't really get the offside rule at the time but the ball looks like it bounces off Joelintins left thigh (after it hits his hand and then Gabriel's back) and pops out behind Gordon. Would love to see some lines actually drawn for that to know if VAR could of drawn lines if that was actually offside.
The biggest strengths of NUFC are every players can score , not like hotspur , city depends on single player to score ! This is the strongest NUFC in club history !
Drama aside. You just have to acknowledge that Newcastle was the better side, objectively. If only Wilson and Gordon' were more fortunate with their chances, it would have been 3-0 or even 4-0 really.
