My guess is that Jon just wanted to make sure Chael is retired, he doesn't want another loss in his record and to the same guy
Of course not, if last time Chael broke his toe easily, who knows what kinda damage he’d do the second time
Ripped it right off
Just ready for him to fight so the division can move forward.
Heavyweight has been frozen up since 2018 to wait for light heavyweights to fight Stipe 😆. The moment the DC trilogy finished we thought we were moving on with the Ngannou era but that was just stalling with Jon and then injury. Which then just turned to where we are now, waiting on Stipe and Jon.
@@TheDeeYawn Way to completely omit who actually held up the division... Neither Stipe OR Jones, held the belt through most of that time.
Honestly there's not much to see at Heavy weight going forward, post Jones you don't really have any exciting fight outside of a Alex move up. AT best you have Blades vs Aspinal, which is kind of meh, same with Lewis. I don't really see much that's being held up, this whole drama is the most talk worthy thing you're going to have for quite a while.
I want Tom vs Jon for sure
Jones has 1 loss and he would have two, but got lucky because the ref didnt see that Chael had already destroyed Jon's toe. That shouldve been a doctor stoppage.
A doctors stoppage isnt a loss, casual

Jones keeps ducking Pantoja 😤
Who?
Who?
Jones is absolutely the best mma fighter that has fought in a cage ever, regardless of him ducking x y or z. He has nothing to prove and there will never be someone like jones in the game. Generation Z children should go play with Lego instead of watching mma.

Joners ducking everyone he hasn't yet faugbt. Derp
Jones vs. Aspinall is the only fight that matters in their division right now and it needs to happen

Aspinall deserves that fight. People like to talk about Poton and how he has accomplished two titles. He wouldn’t have won any if he wasn’t given a chance. Aspinall will fight absolutely anyone. He deserves the same push
Pereira didn't ask for chances? He took his chances, he was the one making fights happen never backed down at any challenge that came at him, he would have fought in brazil too if it wasn't for his broken toes
@@VISC3RAhis point is that pereira was given opportunities by ranked opponents then champs very quickly. Where as Aspinall apparently has to “earn” a title fight even though he is the interim champ… what do people actually want him to do to earn it?
@@nerojay2105 He would had that opportunity if Aspinal won the fight against Curtis Blayde, he is currently in a 2-fight winning streak, Jon Jones and Pereira on the other hand have yet to lose a fight in their division, Pereira is also more active compared to both of them
@@VISC3RA apart from an injury (which the the reason why jones is also out) he has won 9/10 of his last 10 fights in the first round and the 10th in the second round 😂 what do you actually want him to do? he’s beaten 4 ranked opponents in his division and is the interim champ.
Also “pereira is more active” BECAUSE people have given him opportunities. That’s the point of the original comment.
“Jones is undefeated in his division” he’s had one fight and is already the champ 😂
@@VISC3RA Pereira is only on a 3 fight winning streak, and jones has fought one person at heavyweight lmao
Alex Pee-Air-Uh
Anyone fighting for the HW belt needs to be fighting for it against Tom.
Nope, Jones is the champion. Anyone fighting for the HW belt needs to be fighting against Jon. How you get it so wrong?
Inbred maybe?
The heavyweight division has been destroyed by Dana Stipe and jon
Jones checks under his bed for Tom.
I doubt it
@@JamesBishop-nh1iiit’s true. If Tom doesn’t act like Ciryl and just get star struck, he’ll beat Jon.
@@glenshort6567 I doubt it but okay remember UFC is about story lines and Alex vs Jon would no question be a better story wayyy better and it'll generate more money

@JamesBishop-nh1ii so the interim champion should be told to wait on the sidelines, again?
Will Jon be able to fight with MMA GURU allegations, Chael we’re missing that important mental challenge Jon has to overcome
The mma guru literally has insects living inside his hair, I wouldn't take him too serious.
@@andrewthompson7478 yes, this is the news we need, if guru is some nasty basterd, jones will demolish his next opponent using this newly found anger

I thought making an interim champion fight means the winner fights the champion when he comes back.
Didn’t we all
That's exactly what it means.
Regardless of whether or not it's Periera or Aspinall, the real overarching point here is that nobody cares about Jones vs. Stipe. Nobody.
Thank you
He needs to fight the interim champ of the division, how is this even a question?
The interim chamo that sat for 8 months and never defended his belt? No
Interim what? It's not heavyweight. You can't have an undisputed heavyweight champ and then also an interim champ. Aspinall is not legit.
@@chiquita683 you can only defend that belt against the legit champ , sadly Jones lets his fan girls do his fighting for him in the UA-cam comments section apparently… the only reason u don’t want John to Tom is because your scared he will get smashed harder than jones hit that pregnant chick in the car , in fact I think Jones’s wife has a better chance against jones in the rematch than jones does against Tom…… see what happens when you open your mouth now shut it . God bless everyone have a great day .
U both know Jon’s wife has a better chance at defeating him in the rematch than John does at beating Tom , interim champ can only defend the belt against the champion that simply refuses to fight him, if he can beat Tom then absolutely fight Alex but let’s not count our chickens before the eggs have hatched ok girls , tar tar!
Once Jon steps in that cage to fight Stipe or anybody else, Tom will no longer be interim champion, since the undisputed champion will be back and active.
So forget about this interim champion vs champion talk. It will never happen. Even if Tom ends up fighting Jon one day, it won't be as interim champion
For the first time in a long time, I’d be interested in a Cyril gane fight. Against pereira. He’s not particularly good at wrestling nor is he known for knock out power. But as a former interim champ, he’s the perfect next opponent for pereira when he moves up. Same as Jan blachowicz was for his lhw debut. A good test to see if his power carries into the heavier weight class and I think a very winnable fight for him to set him up for jones or Tom later for undisputed
I love that uncle Chael calls out the heavyweights for ‘not saying boo, if they had a mouth full of it’
Aspinal all day. A lot tougher fight for Jon.
I love Alex but his grappling against Jon makes me real nervous.
So yes. Tom Aspinal.
You claim Jones cant grapple then say Alex will lose because Jones is a great grappler. Cope
Fighting Tom means nothing. Fighting Alex is better because it has the potential to crown a three division champion for the first time ever
@@chiquita683where did he claim jones can’t grapple ?

Jon Jones vs Alex Pee-Era
Imagine Pereria fights Aspinall, wins, and then Jon Jones has to talk about how beating Stipe, who hasn't done anything since he got knocked out cold 4 years ago, makes Jones the GOAT or means anything in Modern MMA.
1) Jones keeps talking about legacy and beating Alex when it's clear he's asking Alex to fight him in a weight class he wasn't prepared to fight in for 3 years because he wanted to put the weight on the right way... Also knowing there is a massive grappling & wrestling deficit....
Yess!! We Need!! 235LB Champion!!!
Jones vs Alex for Belt 236LBs!!! Then WinneR, Cjampion vs Stipe at 235s!!!
There’s actually a pretty simple solution. Have Jon jones fight the baddest man in his division

Jon beating Pereira wouldn't do anything for his legacy, but Pereira pulling off a minor miracle would cement him as the 🐐 and he would've fulfilled all of Izzy's aspirations.
Alex doesn’t have much to loose if he fights Jon, most likely he would get choked out so won’t take Aton of damage if he looses but has everything to gain
Tom would whoop Jones. If he fights stipe, he should grab the mic and say im afraid and this will be my last fight. Use the frankkie fear from Rocky?
Love ya buddy. The cans a good prop (here & there…).
If Jon wants to solidify himself as goat then he needs to beat the interim champ (Aspinall) to unify the belts. Then, if Jon wins, Jon fights Potato. Winner goes down as the undisputed goat. Jon for never officially losing a match (despite losing to Reyes at UFC 247) and being a long reigning champ who eventually claimed gold in two weight classes. Or Potato, a two division kickboxing champion who would move over to mma to claim gold in three weight classes in the most prestigious fighting organization ever.
Tom shouldn't even have an interim. Tom isn't big enough.
@@slymcfly123this isn’t a popularity contest. It’s a competitive sport. Hope this helps.
@slymcfly123 He's 260 pounds, which is certainly big enough. Unless of course you're making the asinine claim that a fighter can't become champ unless they have a certain number of Instagram followers. I really hope it's the former, because it's hard to imagine someone being dumb enough to argue the latter.
@@failwheeldrive they think that because Tom Aspinall hasn’t beaten champions he doesn’t get to fight the champion. Shit is crazy
Potato and Tom aren’t even close to goats status even if they beat Jon that need to do more
Before 300 I would have said Aspinal just for continuity…. But now! Damn Chael, all I can think about is whether or not Alex can make something happen against jon and avenge another loss for his mentor. The story is there, the buzz is there, it’a really a no brainer. We are starting to see that Silva esque aura come through in its entirety with Alex and Aspinal is the equivalent of fish and chips in terms of how people see him right now.
Everyone has doubled down on Jon fighting Tom since he bought up Alex. Fans have also completely written off Stipe to win and don’t want to see it because Stipe had retired for 31/2 years after a KO.
if Jones is limited on his time and fights. It should be Pereira. The amount of titles he has gained. Compare to an interim that Aspinall has. His Goat status goes up to the man that can become the first triple champ in the MODERN era. It’s a fascinating fight. Because it’s also that Light heavyweight championship that Jones held that gave him goat status. It would be also as if, he never left the light heavyweight class he would still be champion there as well.
Do you know why Alex has so many champions on his resume? Because the champions were actually willing to fight him. Just food for thought.
Chael, Alex Pereira is almost exactly 2 weeks older than Jon Jones. I’m not sure how that fits into the mix but I’m sure you can spin that little bit of info into a new video
I dont think alex is an easy fight as people think, jones wont be able to just take him down and sub him in a min, alex is not clueless on the ground like that.
He got held down by adesanya

Id actually love for Jon to fight Alex cuz I think he’d drop some weight
I could write a 10 paragraph essay on why he should fight aspinal rather than alex.
1) aspinal is IC(obvious point)
2) Jones vs Pereira would be a repeat of the cereal gane fight
3) Aspinal is a better MMA fighter than Alex, he would not knock out Pavlovich in the first round like Tom.
4) Alex is small for the HW class, he would have to spend time bulking to actually make a competitive fight like Jon. We dont have 3 more years for either fighter they will both be 39 years of age
5) The only reason Jon is publicly riducluing aspinal is to mentally strain him so he has an advantage for when they do fight, unless he retires after stipe which everyone will be pissed about
6) Jones is wanting the easiest fights he can get so his record is unblemished, he has been HW champ for 470+ days with 0 defenses. Tom is the toughest fight in the division.
7) Tom is bigger, stronger, and faster than Jon Jones. I'd also argue he's smarter
8) Jon has a weak chin, Tom would crack his jaw and the fight would end similar to the sergei fight, just not as fast. Check out he gets rocked by Lyotos counter shots, those weren't very heavy shots Tom knocks him out there.
9) Tom is strong enough and skilled enough in wrestling to beat jon in the clinch where he does most his damage(beside his eye pokes and push kicks to the knee)
10) Tom is a better striker than Jon Jones, he would have to put Tom on his back wich would be an extremly difficult feat. We've yet to see anyone do it.
11) Jon would have a lot o
f trouble getting his hands on Tom despite a 6 inch reach advantage, we saw how slow he is at HW in the cereal fight.
How Jon Jones beats Tom Aspinall: Push kick to the knee, shoot for take downs in a good position where Tom cant reverse them, fake a take down and throw overhand to crack tom so he can put him on his back, win VIA TKO by G&P. I don't think there's any other way Jon wins
How Tom beats Jon Jones:
1) Box him, we saw him have trouble with reyes and gustofsson, tom is knocking him out in those situations.
2) Use his size advantage to put Jon on his back, he has never been there and would be uncomfortable and overwealmed with the power, unusual situation, and sheer shock of reality of being taken down. it would mentally break Jon Jones if he gets put on his back.
3) Submission
How Alex beats Jon Jones: He can't win unless he catches his coming in the takedown with a flying knee, switch knee, or a left hook. No other path to victory.
Jon Jones is my second favorite fighter, Demitrious Might Mouse Johnson is #1 for me. It's irritating as a fan of a fighter to see him duck someone so blatantly(He never ducked Ngannou, he was bulking to fight him. You cant gain 50+ pounds in less than 3 years unless you're on major sterioids. 50 pounds in 3 years is honestly already suspisous of sterioid usage. He never tested positive and doesn't look like a super hero so I doubt he took much of anything to bulk.)
Jon Jones vs Tom Aspinall is the obvious fight, don't try and say it's not chael. This is why you get 75% of your fight predictions wrong.
Costa VS Cannonier!!! Bruiser BRody!!!
Uriah Hall VS Adesanye!!! Interim Belt!! CLash of 2 Dif Styles!! Kyushin vs KB Izzy
Needs to be the interm belt holder first. Tom Aspinal
The problem with Alex Pereria is he can take Jon jones goat status and that’s a huge problem
We might as well put Dominic Cruz against Jones. He's trying to fight Stipe who's 73 years old and then Alex Pereira, former Middleweight. As he is accusing Aspinal of "arriving yesterday on the scene" and in the same breath called out Alex, who arrived a day before that. It's ridiculous. These tricks should be beneath him.
Jones vs alex is a bigger match the build up would be crazy
Chael ridiculing heavyweights is one of my favorite bits of his. 🤣
I'm with Jon on this one. I'd be interested in fighting Stipe, over Aspinall or Pereira
The real answer here is have Jones fight Stipe, and have Aspinall fight Pereira
Then the winners fight. That's the answer. The 2 heavyweight champions fight. The 2 new jacks fight.
That's not happening, but......that's the correct answer.
POATAN is in it no matter wat, CHAMA
Chael is the goat, that's obvious
He fights who's next in line or vacates the belt period or Alex waits for him it's not Rocket science Alex isn't in the line what so ever
Tom may be the guy Bisping is blowing all the smoke about. But we really don't know. He beat Sir Jay, Volkov, and like 15 years post prime Arlovski.
Alex is right in the middle of this double champxdouble sport run. He's supposed to have nonexistent ground game, yet all he fights are champions and miraculously!(lmao) he never gets taken down and submitted.
Not only do I want Alex vs. Jon. I think Alex wins.
No shot he wins hahah
@kingzac3856 Gane shit his pants on live tv, he don't count. That guy would've ate glass over fighting Jones.
When was the last time Jon took someone down and submitted them? It gets blurry with all those Reyes and OSP type fights lmao
He needs to fight Ankalaev instead of being fed strikers all the time
Really liked this video it had my interest and I kinda had a similar conversation with my buddies.
That rule about interim champion goes both ways. By the same rule, Jon HAS to fight Tom as a champion to become undisputed. Since the UFC allowed their to be an interim champion, then it maintains until they resolve the dispute . Jon, equally when he comes back, should be stripped as per rules of UFC he is taking on another opponet when his championship remains disputed.
Does anyone remember that dog named Dug from the Pixar movie Up? (Squirrel!)
Jones brought up Pereira (squirrel!) to distract you guys because..
1. He wants to take the focus off of his newly exposed homosexuality.
2. He wants to distance himself from a potential Aspinall fight.
Don’t be a Dug…
I would prefer to see him fight Alex after Stipe just to see if Alex could go for a triple crown. Sucks for Tom but Alex would be the bigger fight for PPV.
Jon Jones , The Man, The Myth, The Legend.
GOAT!
Uncle Chael…. It’s interim vs undisputed champion. That’s what we do when both are healthy. It’s that simple!!!
The winner between Alex and Jon could never be called the goat so long as chael p Sonnen is walking this earth
Do we know who Aspinall is fighting in Manchester yet???
He's in a fight camp right now but I haven't seen who he's fighting yet
Stipe could save heavyweight if he 'is injured' at the right time. Tom can step in on short notice and we can be done with it

So what about Sergei pavlovich who will he fight

How about Tom vs. Alex?
Tom should fight Alex so Jon can’t
I know Chael is supposed to sell the promotion and all, he's an unapologetic company man. HE could have summed all this up by saying, Alex moving up is going to be the only exciting thing you can see right now. AT least outside of this Jones vs Aspinal pitter pattering online. Once that's gone, you've got Blades vs Aspinal.... yay?!?
POATAN king of the OCTAGON
CHAMA

Slightly wonky MMA maths here, but I think if Tom fights Alex he'll try fighting stand up and get clipped and lose. If Jon fights Alex he'll win by mixing up takedowns/wrestling/striking. If Jon fights Tom, Jon will lose to the younger, faster fighter as I reckon Tom might clip him and get a TKO.
Gold
The ONLY reason that Chael even retired is to let Jon have the LIMELIGHT while he pulls the strings from the GANGSTA CAVE. ❤
I LOVE YOU CHAEL!
YOU'RE MY LIL BUDDY! 🎉🎉🎉
What the heck about Stipe!?! Did u mention his name?
Chael does beating Stipe at his age mean anything? No.
I think Jon should continue fighting Middle Weights who move up.
The first thought that popped into my mind when Pierra knocked out Jamahal Hill was, "I want to see him fight Jones."
“Jones is in an impossible spot.”
Lol what?
He wants to fight Stipe, so let him. But the belt should have been vacated. It’s not like Stipe earned number one contendership because he himself hasn’t fought since his loss.
Vacate the belt. Fight and likely beat Stipe. Then they can both retire. Tom can focus on defending the HW belt.
I vote for Money Moicano as back up for Conor vs Chandler
Fedor laughs at the Jon jones goat talk
If Jobes beats Alex, it proves nothing. Alex is a great fighter, and I personally find him so much fun to watch… but he’s been boosted so hard in his time with the UFC (literally streamlined to the Championship in 6 fights) that quite honestly if Jones beats him it proves nothing. I will say that if Alex wins, that would ADD not solidify, but add to the possibility of him being considered “A” goat, not THE goat.
“Heavyweight has always sucked.”
That’s one way of describing it. I didn’t say it.
Bold, good stuff Chael.
There’s no way anyone on this planet believes Alex is the goat if he were to somehow get a fight sanctioned (despite a legal obligation to book the healthy & unscheduled interim champion) for the HW belt and win.
Aspinall
If Jon doesnt fight Tom. The Interim belt is dead. No one ranked in the division will be pushing for it when champs are inactive because it wont guarantee the title shot.
Most sense!!! ELite Izzy vs Alex...
ELite Alex vs Jones!!!
If Tom beat them both folks would say Jon's over the hill and Alex is just a kickboxer.
Sorry, Chael, but if you consider Jon a LHW, you must consider Alex a MW.
Anybody except Aspinal at this point
Stipe.... I wouldn't be surprised if stipe got the upset of the century. He slept verdum with that tight check hook. Not discrediting Jones one bit, he's the goat.
He could absolutely do it. Stipe is so underrated by people last few years. He's still the same dude in great shape 💪
Jon Jones vs Tom
Ironic that someone with the nickname "The Bad Guy" would shill so hard for a company. You're telling me Jon has only had ONE fight at Heavyweight (which we all waited 3 years for) is now going back down to fight yet ANOTHER Cyril Gane, and you'd rather see that? As opposed to him fighting the actual Heavyweight champ who can give Jon a run for his money?
Nobody wants Jones vs pereira because 1. We don’t perceive it to be competitive, so there’d be no anticipation. 2. Justice is clearly important to many fans
I love Alex but Tom deserves the Jon fight more. Dana should just force it to happen already
the fight to make has been interim vs undisputed at heavyweight ever since tom baptized serge. now all of a sudden we’re talking about the undisputed heavyweight champ fighting a light heavyweight???? while there’s a CURRENT interim heavyweight champ???? what????
The issue we have with Jon is he took 3 yrs to get to HW fought 1 time and now is not fighting for Another year. That 1 fight in 4 years, I mean dang does he even want to fight??
Well Tom certainly tried uncle Chael
Aspinall 💯
If Alex beat Jon I’m not sure he’d be the greatest of all time in my estimation. The question would be could Alex have beat Jon 8-10 years ago. I’m not even sure Alex beats DC.
Unify unify unify. It’s no different than when Ilia or O’Malley were calling out fighting other champs. I recall hearing Dana say to clear out your division before worrying about stuff like that, and they don’t even have interim champs in those classes. Jones should do the same. He’s literally only beaten Gane, as far as heavyweight goes, which is what we’re talking about.
