placidus is completely messed up in far north, like scandinavia - that's why i don't use it - you can't have quadrants that are so massive and others so tiny - this doesn't accurately describe a human

Re whole sign house system, the descendant line in the 7th house is considered by astrologers using this system. For example, if someone’s sun is in the 7th house, depending on whether it is above or below the DC / horizon determines whether they have a day or night chart. You can also see that way which planets might have been visible at a given time or not.
