Amen so blessed message God blessings forever in Jesus name 🙏🙏🙏📛📛📛
So those in the church who complain that there should be no tongues spoken without an interpreter present are not exactly correct because what if the tongues are signs to the unbelievers present? Paul warning against confusion in the congregation, he didn't ban it outright. So let them speak. And the pastor should have the gift anyway.
The unbelievers may not speak the interpretation but they are definitely the interpreters.!
True True True 🤔
How would an unknown sound that didn't make sense be a sign to unbelievers? Where is that in the bible?
When you go into the Greek language which is what it was written in.... you see that the word tongue means language...an unknown language... that needs to be interpreted to those who speak a different language.
There are kinds of tongues. One is a known language that is unknown to the speaker.
The other is a mystery language known only to God.
The sign to unbelievers is the first example.
The second example is to be spoken only between us and God. It should only be spoken in a congregation if an interpreter is present. If one is not present then keep it between you and God
When the believers recieved the Holy Spirit, in Acts ch 2, and began to speak in " tongues" three times the men in the crowd questioned how they were hearing the believers speak in their individual native languages.
This was repeated three times to alert us to the fact that the miracle for those in the crowd wasn't one of the believers speaking in their native languages, but one of them Hearing what the believers were saying in one spiritual language in their individual native languages.
The Word repeats an event three times in order to:
1) Direct our attention to the presence of an important spiritual truth.
2) To set a precedent so the same event mentioned elsewhere in scripture need not be repeated in as much detail.
1) The important spiritual truth is that the miracle for those in thr crowd was one of hearing in their languages not of the believers speaking them.
2) The precedent set is this was a sign to unbelievers. The men in the crowd.
