    There are many floating markets you can visit when you’re in Thailand, and even there are some floating markets located right within Bangkok that are very nice (Khlong Lat Mayom is very nice in Bangkok: migrationology.com/best-float....
    Then there are also many floating markets about a 1 or 1.5 hour drive from Bangkok in a province called Samut Songkhram. In Samut Songkhram there are a number of other famous floating markets. Damnoen Saduak is the most famous of all, and it’s very touristy and gets very packed on the weekend. Amphawa is another Thai floating market that’s big and busy. But I wanted to go to a quieter and more peaceful floating market, so we decided to go to Tha Kha Floating Market (ตลาดน้ำท่าคา), located very close to Amphawa.
    It was my first time to visit Tha Kha Floating Market (ตลาดน้ำท่าคา), and I was pleasantly surprised by how small, friendly, and local it was. There’s not a whole lot to do, but there are plenty of floating boats serving food and you can also buy lots of fresh ingredients which come from this area.
    Along with plenty of Thai food snacks I ate during this tour of Tha Kha Floating Market (ตลาดน้ำท่าคา), the best thing was the hoy tod (หอยทอด), a fried oyster omelet. There’s something about eating an oily fried oyster omelet when you go to a floating market - it’s kind of like going to a sports game and eating a hot dog - they just go so well together.
    I also enjoyed the fruits available at the market, especially starfruit, which was likely picked right off the tree of the lady who was selling it.
    When you’re in Thailand, if you want to go to a quiet and peaceful floating market that’s not overly busy and still remains quite local Tha Kha Floating Market (ตลาดน้ำท่าคา) is an amazing option.

    Hi Mark,half Thai/half Dane American here. I grew up in Bangkok, around Wat That Tong and Phra Kanong until I was almost five. Thai is my first language but I've lost most of it. I am conversational for five minutes top, then complete silence - I've run out of words. But what I remember, what grounds me in my "Thainess" is the food. 95% of my Thai vocabulary has to do with food. "aloy maak", "Tham saap saap noy dai mi krap?", "Mai phet", "Cau nam jim"...and so on. I love all food but Thai food is special. You know what I'm talking about.
    Bangkok is certainly not without it's flaws but there is a magic in the energy that's fueled by the all food that it has to offer. I've travelled and eaten extensively but I've eaten the best French, Italian, and Indian food in my life in Bangkok (cooked by French, Italian, and Indian cooks) imagine that? And don't get me started on Thai food in Thailand, both urban and regional. IT IS eye-rollingly good!! With all due respect, I - and now my wife - have been rolling our heads and eyes when eating Thai food in Thailand for 5 decades. But I cede you the copyright...!
    I so enjoy your sublime reports from around the world. They calm me and make me happy & hungry. I always check in when I want to go to a good place.

    what I love about Mark Weins is that the way he interacts with other people shows how humble, polite and simple person he is. It's so nice also to see that he's a family-oriented man because he brings his family whenever he can with him during his food trips. 😊😊😊

    I got so much respect for all the ladies selling here at the market. This reminds me so much of my mom. When we came to the United States my mom used to make food and go around different Asian neighborhoods and sell. I remember she was selling pho for 1 dollar a bowl. She also sold kaopoon, Thai tea, soda and water. We were so poor and now my parents have a beautiful house and her kids are all doing well. They sacrificed so much to give us a better life. I just thought I share that.

    You know what good about Mr. Mark Weins aside from being good person, he is not selfish, he bring also his wife and Micah with him whenever he travel. If we base Or describe Mark as a food he is unexplainable unique taste because he is one of a kind fantastic person. So down to earth person. Sharing those culture each country he visits is an additional knowledge for us as his viewers and a good idea also if someone wants to visit certain country. Salute you Mark may Allah bless you and guide you always and your family.

    • @RealRina90
      @RealRina90 6 років тому +1

      @Sarah Azri his mom is chinese. Also there is no specific thai look , thais are a very diverse & mixed volk who originated from south china 4000+ years ago (its mentioned in most history books & history documentarys about TH. ) , now still most of the thais are mixed ,some more some less but mainly with south chinese roots and some north chinese roots while the rest also has indian lao viet cambodian japanese burmese etc roots. , people always think a volk has to have a one certain look which is not the case always ,and also people should stop thinking that all chinese have white skin etc so people think thais dont look chinese though that is not the case too ,a lot of southern CH look very similar to thai and the reason was already mentioned. Because of the mixing throughout the last many years some look more south asian some look more east asian which is both even the case for many of my thai relatives (and im not talking about skintone but facial feat. , although a few do have very white skin since birth that never got dark...). So ur 'he doesnt look thai' doesnt make much sense... also hes mixed so. he just looks mxd which he is...

    Hello. My wife and I are from Virginia and are in Thailand for our 1 year anniversary. We visited the floating market today and the wonderful lady cooking the oyster pad thai is amazing. My wife watched your video in researching things to do in Bangkok. Must say, this is a good bit away from the city but well worth the trip, not only for the .60 cent oyster dish but the boat trip around the coconut farm is beautiful and peaceful. Thank you for the information from your video.

      Baby eyes need protection from strong sunlight as young infant iris are so very delicate. So are its skin. Avoid Insect bite. We like Micah but try not let Micah travel out so often.
