Thank you Leighton. I have a trial version of maker, which I like but I don’t like subscriptions. I would rather pay a one-off payment. I only use my CNC machine as a hobby and not to make money so a subscription based piece of software isn’t a viable option for me, being retired.

Thanks for the video. I have enjoyed quite a few of your videos. Could you show your toolpath summary in your videos? Specifically how long it is estimated to take. I know that it will vary by a users machine and setup, but as a beginner I'm just trying to see if my tool paths time is comparable to others. Thanks.

Hi Diana, thanks for your comment.
With the toolpath calculation summary times, there's a bit of 'dialing in' that needs to be done to make them accurate to your own CNC, using the time scale factor value. In a nutshell... because Carveco is designed to work with loads of different machine tools (with different feeds and speeds across the board) the out-of-the-box estimates are usually a bit off until you put in some more information about your machine.
We'll be releasing a video on this very soon to show how its done!

Progress! I understood everything you've laid out here! Here is my challenge: I've successfully cut a v-carved letter, but in trying to get the interior flat parts a bit smoother, I've reduced the stepover and stepdown of the same 90 degree v-bit. The program balked at this with messages like "selection contained open vectors -these will be ignored" and then "Vector intersections were found in the selection. Please... Vector Doctor". Well and good, but the board lights up when I identify with a LOT of green and red circles! Any tips? THANKS!

Sounds like duplicate vectors Chuck. It's a bit hard to say without seeing the file. If you send the .art file over to our support team, they will gladly take a look at it for you - support@carveco.com

I'm Currently trying out maker edition on monthly subscription..tbh I will be cancelling as I find it's a slow process, especially with the method you are showing here..
I make simple designs for wooden signs... In vcarve desktop, I have it designed and made in 10 minutes..
With maker I gave up with all the errors and that was just from a script font..

Are there any current Maker videos? Instead of Maker PLUS.

Can you do the same thing with metal this program?

Absolutely. Provided your CNC is powerful enough to cut the material you want to cut - you can cut whatever you like

This video was somewhat helpful, but do you have an video that is more in depth and basic? I am new to all of this and I am having a hard time. Thanks
