@justinberry6411 there's much I could go into, but basically Woke is making everything politically correct, race swapping characters, checking off check boxes to make certain characters alphabet soup and making it their whole identity instead of actually writing good characters (eg Fallout New Vegas handles gay characters far better. They're gay but it's not shoved in your face every minute)

All those toys are primarily B-list or C-list characters that weren't going to sell to die hard collectors let alone casual fans. None of those items have any promotion behind them. A Black Panther cartoon was needed to help sustain interest with kids. The most sought after products made by Hasbro are sellouts and most often store or Hasbro Pulse exclusives. Transformers Legacy, G.I.Joe Classified Series, Spider-Man Retro card series, Marvel Legends Deluxe and 2 packs and other A-list Marvel character offerings aren't showing up at discount. I have never seen a Generation 1 Leader Class Transformer on sale unless the package was severely damaged 🤷🏽♂️
Wish merchandise is perpetually on sale at Target and no one buys it.

For instance when I take my kid trick or treating I’ve seen literally hundreds of Spider-Man , Captain American, Iron Man costumes. I have never seen a single Captain Marvel. Not one.

You make a very good point. These are movie tie ins and people want classic toys. The original Adam West batman car, micronauts, and things that are played with by kids. Not all these collectables that collect only dust.

My local Goodwill had toy castoffs from I suspect was Target & it was full of Marvel & Star Wars junk. Looked liked nobody even touched it aside from the GW employees putting it out.

About 20 Years ago, kids wanted toys and figurines, now...skip forward to 2024, All your 8 yr old wants is a cellphone like the other 30+ 8 yr olds in their class.
My 7 year old nephew used to love Lego, I gave him half my collection.
Last months his dad (my brother) bought him an Xbox and installed Fortnite.
Now all the kid is interested doing is playing videogames.

You know that we wake up and we look out your front door and we have boxes after boxes after boxes of the shit just delivered to us for no apparent reason that we don’t want. Reminds me of how the last time I went to Target the only person I saw in the Disney section was a lady taking a phone call. Shelves were packed. Meanwhile the other girl's toy isle had a few gaps. Even saw kids in there and one girl had a non-Disney doll.

Seriously. The Marvel Legends I only buy for the hands and accessories to use on other figures.
I bought 90 Rose Tico figures for $104 to harvest them for their joints so i could use them in my hobby making custom action figures. Its crazy the action figure world for huge series have got so bad it was cheaper to buy bargain bin Rose figures than buy action figure joints online lol.
The plush Stormtrooper was exclusive to Macy's for 2023. It didn't sell there either.
Because I live across the street from a Walgreens (God help me) I see nothing but Mickey Mouse paraphernalia all the time and their toy aisle. It just sits there. Nobody’s buying it yet. Walgreens insists on still stuffing their toy isles with that junk. It’s like they’ll never get the message, send that junk to Ollies where it won’t sell either!
I know Ollies got this stuff for a song, but my god at some point even they have to free up the shelf space.
the thing is with that, retailers have contracts to display a companies items and they often get money to do that, so they stuck while that lasts. it was signed with the belief it was a good idea hahah. if you see in a bookshop those tables at the front with new books - all of that is paid for by the publisher, same with end of the rows in supermakets with the promoted items. retail stores are far less manger decides on what is sold now, esp chain stores. find some indy toy store, run by some family that will tell you what is selling as they don't get the same types of deals.
At my local walgreens there is a black series Rey figure that has been on the shelf since around 2015, the exact same one, it is still there nearly 10 years later, they still ave a $19.99 price on it.
I've been noticing the only Disney character that anyone wants is Stitch, seen lots of folks buying him, not Mickey, the princesses, Wish (though who'd want anything from that disaster) or anything that has their label. It's almost tragic but they did this to themselves.

At this point Ollies are buying this stuff by weight and selling it for way, WAY UNDER the RRP, and still it doesn't sell.
It just sits on the shelves gathering dust getting discounted even further to the point where they can't even give it away.

my aunt went to florida for vacations and me and my brother tell her if she can bought something about star wars, how horrified we were when she showed us a character that we dont even know who he is, but she saw the star wars logo on it and she bought it, luckily it only cost 3 dollars (the original ticket says it used to cost 25 dollars)

Ok,that card pack you were fingering near the start of the video? Those have small cardboard models you assemble for a miniatures game. It's pretty neat. And each pack comes with a set of 2 micro dice. They're adorably small and I just love 'em. Honestly,it's a pretty good idea that could easily be expanded on.

Personally,I never understood why anyone used 5 point articulation once GI Joe hit with their 3.75 inch figures. They were 5 bucks back in the day and once they hit,everyone else should've been upgrading but 5POA continues today. Now with Mega and their mini-figs,there's no reason Lego sized figures can't have 10+ POA. And with what Takara is doing with Diaclone,there's really no excuse at all.
So yeah,they don't have an excuse. There's no reason these figures should A) cost that much and B) not have high detail and articulation. You can scan a person's face and shrink it down with little loss. It's basically bullshit. And you can't bullshit a bullshitter.

I'm glad my child good was in the 2000s. Action figures back then we're plentiful but not to plentiful and they were good, good paint, good articulation, great accessories. A lot of stuff today is just crap. I mean those 12 inch 5 poa figures what's the point who are those targeted towards. I never see kids buy them, but I also never see kids in toy aisles anymore either.

People keep saying that the Pixar movie Elemental was a 'smash hit' and that it made money (which lets be honest, with a 200 million dollar budget and not even grossing 500 WW it didn't make anything) but I have literally NEVER seen a toy for that movie. I had to google it and aside from the fact that there hardly seem to be any, the ones that Disney sells are like 70% off and the toys have very low review scores.

I went to the Ollie's in Iowa City after a doctor's appointment. Reva, Admiral Holdo, Shuri, Shang Chi and all the Eternals were $9.99. No wonder they're still on the pegs.
Action figures and vinyl figures just feel like genuine landfill garbage, its not like lego figures that incite creativity or model kits that give you freedom nope its just a character from a show/movie in a box

The quality of writing in Star Wars novels today is truly horrendous, I calling them novels is an insult to people who actually write. They are more akin to scripts than actual novels because apparently writing with all the flowery prose one expects from a real novel is too hard. It reminds me of those bad comic books pages where it's just a picture of the characters with their mouths open and just a wall of speech balloons. They just want to write conversations and nothing else.
More prove that people are over with disney and it isn't selling at all kids don't really care for anything disney what they would get is mario characters godzilla stuff anime i do collect plushies and props that don't move of franchises i like often times i gotta buy it overseas online the stuff i'm into isn't produced in the u.s.

Just shopped at my local Macy’s Toys R Us and the Disney aisles even Mickey Mouse were still flooded on the shelves not selling while the Super Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog aisles were nearly out of stock because they are so popular. Mario seems to be a top seller at Toys R Us and his toys and merch are beating the Mouse in sales. I’m all for Mario over Mickey.

The Mario toy section is so telling. It stands against all of the Disney copes:

“Some of those racks are pretty full!” Yeah, the common-enemy toys. You’d be hard-pressed to find a Mario, Luigi, Bowser, or Peach. Even Toad is getting bought. The common-enemy toys are the lowest-priority to kids, and they’re STILL being bought!
The difference between Mario and newer Marvel is that characters like The Eternals and Shang-Chi are ALL lowest-priority toys to kids. People actually like Super Mario, and Mario actually got an entertaining movie.
I hate, "the kids don't like X" argument since most of the time kids will go to the movies, buy toys, buy books, and buy whatever. AS LONG AS IT IS GOOD, which companies don't seem to understand.
