I don't like ships where one half of the ship is completely infatuated and in love while the other half of the ship couldn't care less about romance and puts them in the friendzone for the rest of the series until miraculously for some reason they're married to each other. IchiRuki had a good dynamic and at least they were equally invested in each other. They had the screen time ti flesh out their relationship. IchiHime, on the other hand, was just Orihime being in love with a guy who only saw her as a friend until suddenly they have children at the end.
Ichigo is a protector. It's in his name and character. It's his legacy from the pain he felt when he couldn't protect his mother. But when he was at his lowest, most desperate moments, it was Rukia that pulled him out time after time. His words at the end of the Soul Society arc put it best. "I now remember why I wanted to save you so badly. Thank you, Rukia. Because of you, the rain has finally stopped falling." I can't believe how someone can write a bond this beautiful and just throw it all away...

The reason why Rukia is second most important character because she's originally supposed to be the main character but Kubo mentioned that Rukia did not seem like a lead character, so he created Ichigo. I saw them both as a very close friend/ best friend.

I love the connection and chemistry they had kinda like a married couple. Tite Kubo created something special between these two. I'm happy Rukia became a Captain but I *REALLY* do think, based on the canon material, that Ichigo should have ended with Rukia. Why? 1) Despite Ichigo not showing any romantic interest towards Rukia or Orihime, he has spent more time with Rukia throughout the series and they understood each other better than anyone else. They had chemistry throughout the series. Rukia was the *ONLY* person able to get Ichigo back on his feet with motivation on many occasions (when Yammy beat him senseless unable to protect his friends & when Ginjo took his powers) Orihime was even jealous of Rukia for being able to motivate Ichigo while she couldn't. She even knew they had a deeper relationship between them. 2) On episode 1 and Chapter 1, Rukia almost sacrificed herself to save Ichigo (a boy she just met that disrespected her and her drawings lol). She even went against the law to help and save Ichigo. That definitely shows she had something for him. Nobody would do that from Soul Society. 3) The way Isshin saved Masaki against White is similar and symbolic to how Ichigo saved Rukia from the execution hill. Or how Masaki went against the Quincy laws to save a Shinigami. Similar to how Rukia went against the laws of Soul Society to give powers to a human. Masaki changed Isshin's life. Rukia is responsible for changing Ichigo's life and being the very man he is right now. Plus there would be finally peace between the Shiba clan and Kuchiki clan if they got married. 4) Based on the material, Ichigo really shouldn't be allowed to be living in the World of the Living due to his insanely high spiritual pressure. The Captain's and Lieutenant's had a sealed mark on them that suppressed their spiritual pressure due to the harm it would cause to the World of the Living. Same rule applies to Ichigo since he's way more OP than any Captain and strong enough to be the next Soul King. Shunsui even had soul tickets handed to his friends if they wanted to visit Ichigo in Soul Society hinting Ichigo may had to reside there. Besides, realistically Ichigo's real home is the Shiba Clan as is Isshin's. There he could have married Rukia since Orihime can't really live in Soul Society. 5) Bleach's ending made no sense as Chad became a boxer using his strength to hurt people making money COMPLETELY going against his character philosophy and his past with his grandfather. Uryu became what he hated which was doing and being exactly like his father. Plus the poor guy ends up alone. I think Uryu should have ended up with Orihime since he did show a bit of interest in her. Plus it would be reminiscent of how Ryuken was supposed to marry Masaki (an orange haired woman which he had to let go due to the Quincy Bloodline) P.S. Orihime was never intended to be Ichigo's main love interest back in chapter 0 (where she died and Ichigo failed to protect her crying) A common strawman argument from Ichihine fans.
The chemistry and bond between them are shown in both the anime and manga. I agree with all your points especially the point about how Chad and Uryu's lives went out of character. I also feel like Ichigo would be happier living in the soul society.

I really don't understand why Ichigo ended up with Oriheme. When watching the anime I saw no times when they had chemistry. Not even when Ichigo saved her.

Remember when ulquiorra told her she had one person to visit, and then she had that whole thing with sleeping ichigo about how she would have fallen in love with him no matter what. And then when ichigo used the Mask against grimmjow in las noches, and orihime was able to calm him down without doing much of anything. I’ve always seen these two as good friends, couldn’t bring myself to see them as more idk why. It wasn’t the type of chemistry I could see in a couple.
The simple explanation that Rukia and Ichigo should have end up together is their chemistry. There are ton of episodes where you can see their connection and nothing was developed with Inoue. They are linked by the red string of fate, they complete their other perfectly. There are numerous and numerous episodes where everyone doubted Ichigo or though he was a traitor but who never doubt him : Rukia. People talk about their age gap but his dad and his mom were the same don't forget that his dad was a captain. Also during the Gringo arc even Inoue doubted him and who came to save him : Rukia. And also personal thing, Rukia isn't the damsel in danger she's strong that's why she can protect. In the episode where Renji and her brother came to take her to soul society she grab Renji and tell Ichigo to escape whereas when Ulquiorra killed Ichigo all Inoue could and thought useful to do is to scream help kurosaki, bruh. Rukia isn't afraid to put her life in risk for him when the other can just scream.
This is one of the best platonic relations I've seen in anime. That says a lot considering most anime's have a lot of male mc's dating the first girl they bump into.
With all of their moments together, nobody can convince me that Kubo couldn’t have known more fans would ship Ichigo with Rukia than Orihime. For all his strengths as a writer and creator, his inability to adapt and do what’s best for the story is by far his most glaring weakness.

4) Based on the material, Ichigo really shouldn't be allowed to be living in the World of the Living due to his insanely high spiritual pressure. The Captain's and Lieutenant's had a sealed mark on them that suppressed their spiritual pressure due to the harm it would cause to the World of the Living. Same rule applies to Ichigo since he's way more OP than any Captain and strong enough to be the next Soul King. Shunsui even had soul tickets handed to his friends if they wanted to visit Ichigo in Soul Society hinting Ichigo may had to reside there. Besides, realistically Ichigo's real home is the Shiba Clan as is Isshin's. There he could have married Rukia since Orihime can't really live in Soul Society.
5) Bleach's ending made no sense as Chad became a boxer using his strength to hurt people making money COMPLETELY going against his character philosophy and his past with his grandfather. Uryu became what he hated which was doing and being exactly like his father. Plus the poor guy ends up alone. I think Uryu should have ended up with Orihime since he did show a bit of interest in her. Plus it would be reminiscent of how Ryuken was supposed to marry Masaki (an orange haired woman which he had to let go due to the Quincy Bloodline)
P.S. Orihime was never intended to be Ichigo's main love interest back in chapter 0 (where she died and Ichigo failed to protect her crying) A common strawman argument from Ichihine fans.
The chemistry and bond between them are shown in both the anime and manga. I agree with all your points especially the point about how Chad and Uryu's lives went out of character. I also feel like Ichigo would be happier living in the soul society.

The simple explanation that Rukia and Ichigo should have end up together is their chemistry. There are ton of episodes where you can see their connection and nothing was developed with Inoue.
They are linked by the red string of fate, they complete their other perfectly. There are numerous and numerous episodes where everyone doubted Ichigo or though he was a traitor but who never doubt him : Rukia.
People talk about their age gap but his dad and his mom were the same don't forget that his dad was a captain.
Also during the Gringo arc even Inoue doubted him and who came to save him : Rukia.
And also personal thing, Rukia isn't the damsel in danger she's strong that's why she can protect. In the episode where Renji and her brother came to take her to soul society she grab Renji and tell Ichigo to escape whereas when Ulquiorra killed Ichigo all Inoue could and thought useful to do is to scream help kurosaki, bruh. Rukia isn't afraid to put her life in risk for him when the other can just scream.

I still do not understand why Tite Kubo decided to pair Ichigo with Orihime when the whole series started from Ichigo and Rukia's relationship.
