Amazon Echo Studio Review | Gorgeous bass meets 3D sound!

- Amazon’s new Echo Studio smart speaker isn’t just good -- at times, it’s downright fantastic. It’s also one of the few smart speakers you can buy that actually competes with the Sonos One. It does so, in part, by offering impressive features you simply won’t find in any other smart speaker on the market, not least of which is its surprising inclusion of Dolby Atmos support. Find out how in our Echo Studio review.
Even putting the Echo Studio in the same sentence as the One is proof of just how far Amazon has come in the segment in the last few years. With products like the Studio and the new Echo Buds, Amazon has proven it can no longer be left out of the audio conversation. In fact, with the Studio’s 3D soundstage, and a burgeoning new Amazon ecosystem to feed it, Amazon is starting its own conversation -- one that other speaker makers are sure to join.

Lol heard this when watching, paused the video, checked the comments. And of course, someone must have noticed it haha
Alexa does not trigger when it’s called in the middle of a sentence.

I have been using echo dot since 2016 and I love interacting with Alexa, It is almost an effective personal assistant. I have Amazon Music subscription too . Cant wait to have the Echo Studio with the best speakers .. And thanks for the fantastic review.
Do you have them yet? 🙂
the chipmunk background music was an odd choice for this video.
Thanks for the review. I always look forward to your insights on anything audio. Keep up the good work 😊
Awesome, thanks so much for watching!
Bought two echo studios with an echo sub all at different times. When the echo sub finally joined the rest of the echo studio the sound that came out was so impressive. I lived in a tiny apartment and it filled the room so well, and watching movies was very fun. After moving to a new house, maybe due to the larger room the sound has lost its fullness but the speakers still sound so good. I just wish they could get a bit more louder now that I’m in a bigger house. Otherwise for the amount of money I’ll give them an 8.5 out of 10.
The echo sub works with the echo studio?
Have you tried to use 1 as rear speakers ?😈
How did you get them to connect to your TV?
You got credibility points with me from having the Elacs on the shelf behind you. No better value for the money. Oh and I love my Echo studio
Are you still satisfied? Is there a speaker for approximately the same price that has better sound quality?
Is there a speaker for approximately the same price that has better sound quality?
For the same price no. The 2nd gen HomePod is $250 and I’m pretty sure the Sonos speakers are the same or more then studio
Sonos One is not even close. This Mediatek-powered device from Amazon has an amazing quadio quality and is capable of rocking the parties.
Did you also had a Sonos one or how do you know? So you think the echo studio has better sound quality? Is there a speaker at approximately the same price that has better sound quality?
I am not sure if I should buy it🤔🙂
A great speaker, particularly for listening to 3D audio on Amazon HD, albeit an improved model is on the way that provides greater spatial sound and a white color option.
Err can we actually have a sounds demo 🤔
Ditto. A detailed review of a speaker with no sound test ... ah ha
Sound test won't do anything unless you try it yourself. I'm listening on my phone so it will sound like everything else coming from my phone....
Can you use this speaker just as a Bluetooth speaker, like using it with your pc or tablet?
Yes
@@CustardCream22 how ?
@@tashingadekune9141 that is my question too.ive tried to use it as a Bluetooth speaker but i can't figure out how.i have ended up using a audio came.
Does it have magnetic shielding on all the speakers?
can this be connected with a soundbar. I'm asking as my samsung harmon kardon can take rear speakers. for surround sound.
Amazing how we have taken a quantum leap backwards in sound production since the introduction of smartphones and BT. Even the most entry level stereo set of speakers will surpass this and most current offerings.
The ignorant flap with no clue of truths. Entry level stupidity with out factual concept. And James Newell Osterberg Jr. is not a musician.
Found the “audiophile” with his head firmly jammed up his ass on a high pedestal 😂
Does it work well as a "soundbar" with a fire tv?
I don't know does it?
Your music app was connected to Chromecast... Are you sure you were listening from Echo Studio and not from any other Chromecast enabled speaker?
Does the Amazon Studio support ITunes?
Why didn't you play the sound?
Because it would have sounded bad on a lav mic. If you want to hear it, you need to actually hear it. Thanks for watching!
Can this device be connected to yamaha yas 408 soundbar as a surround speakers??
Ray Romano really cleaned up in UA-cam.
Whats the best way to pair this speaker for best rearside effects, Echo sub or 2nd Eco studio?
2nd Echo Studio as a stereo pair
I can not connect my fire tv 4k remote. i have held the play button for 5 seconds while in the alexa app and nothing. Please help! It's there another way to pair. Or is there a setting I have to change?
Did you succeeded?
Where was the sound??!🤔
Wait.... I think I missed the part where he played the audio and compared the audio to similar speakers... Or am I trip'n
does it only work connected to energy?
Yes!
Is it better than the google home max?
I should hope so considering that thing distorts at high volume and the echo Studio doesn't
Yes, I like it better than Google's Max for sure.
@@ryanwaniata690Thank you. Is there a speaker for approximately the same price that has better sound quality or is the echo studio the best for 250€?
I am thinking about getting one and sound quality is most important for me! 🤔
@@ryanwaniata690you mean it has better sound quality then the max?
The reason the Wi-Fi setup is so simple is because they're storing the connection information for your network on their servers, which I would not recommend leaving enabled.
guys. should i get echo show 10 third gen or echo studio
Have you decide yet? 🙂
@@loveistheanswer5924 Got the echo show 8 December 2021
It’s sooo bad, I bought two of them, gonna return
how about you give us details Jesus Christ man, otherwise shove it up your ass
Does it not have good sound quality? Is there a speaker for approximately the same price that has better sound quality?
Does anyone know how this thing sounds behind a television since my TV is not wall mounted and it would be too large to sit in front?
I wouldn’t recommend it. The tv will block much of the sound
I purchased this as the ultimate echo speaker, having already upgraded the dots to a couple of echo 3’s. Not really sure, the bass on two echo 3 seem deeper than the studio although high end isn’t as sharp. Playing ultra hd amazon audio on studio versus regular Spotify on the echos, not sure which of the two sounded better. Maybe I’m doing something wrong.
will the speaker break over time if I listen to it at max volume as I like my music really loud :)
I mean with dolby atmos it's a steel
Buy the Alexa/Google input for your proper sound system. You can't turn a single speaker smart speaker into a proper speaker set...Period.
Wich speaker for 250€ has the best sound quality? And is it better then the studio? Have you even tried the studio?
Can this speaker be charged and be taken on the go? Or does it always need to be plugged in?
it always needs to be plugged in. same with all the other echo devices
What can it do if you don't stream music and don't have any smart appliances in the home?
I definitely don't think this something you're looking for. For $200 you can get a better soundbar, and probably for a little more one with atmos as well. While two keypoints to echo would be streaming music and controlling smart devices, it's also good a number of other things, like receiving news, setting alarms and timers, reminders, etc.. The list is practically endless. Unless you care about those things AND using it as a speaker for your FireTV, then I can't see why you would go with this. To me getting a speaker of this grade needs to be beyond commands, if not you can just get an echo input or dot for way less.
@@diegogarcia4255 it was a gift for my parents. I didn't bother.
@@diegogarcia4255Are you saying that there are better speakers for approximately the same price that have better sound quality? I am searching for a very good speaker and sound quality is most important for me!
Sorry, but no idea what Sonos is.
Have it a battery to work cordless?
No
Did you get one? I am thinking about getting one? 🤔
We listen through headphones... you wont set off our smart speakers...besides i changed my Studio wake word to "computer" .
Just don't pair with the sub if you like bbc radio 1 because they aren't supported. WTF.
no bluetooth stereo pair
bluetooth volume too low
audio latency on 3.5mm aux in
It’s more Cylon red than Vader
Can you talk like it like Alexa and make it play music?
VS Homepod?
What you think? Is there a speaker for approximately the same price that has better sound quality or is the echo studio the best for 250€?
I am thinking about getting one 🤔
Dammit I have my activation word to echo!
Change it to "computer " , i did .
This sounded more like an advertisement than a review to be honest.
Imagine acting like this thing is worth the money. Huge difficult to use paper weight
I heard that many people are satisfied. I am thinking about getting one. 🤔
You look like Justin Trudeau👍
Your shirt messes with my eyes. 😅
5 mins. just talk only you will never listen the speaker .Why not ?
Very small very bad Amazon Garib beti ko good quality Sony sound system

Arnt u sopos to play it during a review lol thumbs down review
Gave this video a dislike cuz you didn’t showcase the sound wtf! 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼
Playing Post Malone right now!
Does not work with ANY content apart from AMAZON music, so don't expect to use two studio speakers and the sub to watch films........all my speakers have been sent back and am going back to my Sonos set up
mick collins You can indeed pair it with both Apple Music and Spotify, and more, even stablish it as a Bluetooth device and use any media on it. Maybe you’re just stupid (?)
homepod is better by a long way.....!
Shield Tv - estas pendejo, that's like saying the Apple TV is better by a long way compared to an Shield Tv, lol no

just a recommendation, in the future don't wear such a detailed shirt, the aliasing is absolutely terrible.
Dolby atmos, yeah right, what a joke! :D
How is that a joke? Tons of devices have Dolby Atmos now.
@@Theoldman27 Have you ever heard 5.2.4 system? That is Dolby atmos. This is NOT. Hence a joke.
@@MrDante10no It's not a joke because it has Dolby Atmos. Of course its not the full effect like you would get from a 5.2.4 system but it still gives you some of the Dolby Atmos effect it was designed for. Hence why it has the up firing speaker. If you want to get technical then everything that's not from a Dolby Atmos designed theater is a joke because of the limited bandwidth and processing power,Dolby Atmos at home is not rendered the same way as the theater. It's just not as good at home but it's still Dolby Atmos.
@@Theoldman27 If you want a sound to come from a certain direction you put a SPEAKER there. Reflections are BS. Especially in this speaker, you get 0.1% of the effect ie. NONE. It is ONLY MARKETING BS. I have 5.2.4 in my home, works perfect, better than many theaters I have been to. (My system: Marantz SR 7013 with 7 Harman/Kardon and 2 Boston Acoustics speakers and 2 H/K subwoofers ie 5.2.4 Dolby atmos/DTS X/Auro 3D system)
Will not pair with echo show 15. Piece of garbage.

@@bluenosepeactually I was just bored at work with nothing to do but the fact that you took the time to reply to me really shows who life is boring. I travel the world. I bet you havnt even been out the country
When you initially set up the Studio, it does a 'calibration' of the soundfield to the room. However, if you move the speaker, there's no ability to re-perform that calibration. The official answer from Amazon in the user forum is that it does it automatically. If that is true, then why the 'show' at initial setup? Something seems really dodgy here.
There is a way to re-calibrate. You just have to hold the button RIGHT of the "+" button for 20 seconds until the LED ring turns a solid orange.
@@Sirllortedlov Not really...that goes through the wi-fi setup and location, but did not go through the calibration routine.
Carl Willis-Ford if you hold it 10 sec it goes to setup mode, keep holding it for another 10 second it will go to factory reset mode, that let you recalibrate.
So the Sonos one has better sound quality? Also better then the studio 2022 Modell? (is there a 2023 Model yet?)
No there is only one gen of the studio. I’d say the studio is about on par with the high end Sonos speakers or maybe slightly better
I have had the Amazon Echo Studio for a while now. There have been many people complaining about the size of the gadget, however honestly I have had no problems with it whatsoever. It is huge no doubt, but at the same time it in no way takes up too much space. The added audio features are amazing giving a surround sound. MediaTek lends it power to the device and makes it extremely powerful and reliable
Do I only have the surround sound when I buy an extra Abo or with any music? So does it always sound like the music comes from different directions? 🤔🙂
Thank you very much for your video!
I use two of them with FireTV Cube as Home Theatre Group and it sounds incredible, also for movies with Dolby Atmos.
Are you sure that you are getting Dolby Atmos from both of them from fire Cube?
@@lycanhd Yes, I am. Why?
Does not work with ANY content apart from AMAZON music, so don't expect to use two studio speakers and the sub to watch films........all my speakers have been sent back and am going back to my Sonos set up
@@southcoastairsports That's right, the home theatre setup with 2 Studio plus sub for watching movies only works with Fire TV Cube (or compatible equivalent) and for Dolby Atmos it works with Amazon content only. But of course you can also use it for watching movies with the Home Theatre Group with 3rd party apps like Netflix, maxdome, Magenta TV etc. Just no Dolby Atmos.
Have you tried to use 1 of it as rear speaker?
Everything I see about this speaker is from 7 months ago? Any improvements --- better sound?
wondering as well. If there will be a gen.2 any time soon?!
I got one recently. Honestly it’s nothing special. Atmos on it is nothing like the real thing. It just sounds like a high quality speaker. There’s no sounds coming from above or behind me. As an Alexa device it’s good. For cinema sound, nope. And 3D music is overrated.
It sounds incredible in a stereo pair and very cheap for the sound quality.
sdemosi Are you kidding? I don’t like it
Roman ZMLV why would I say it if I’m kidding ? If you don’t like it then tell others why but don’t bother me because I clearly disagree with you
Cheap as in quality, or cost? ...try using the word inexpensive in place of cheap if you're trying to emphasize a low cost.
@@Meechety try parsing the sentence if you don't understand it. The addendum, "for the sound quality", suggests that I'm referring to cheap as meaning "low in price, especially in relation to similar items or services". No need to use "inexpensive". If you still didn't understand or felt that ambiguity needed to be resolved, you could have asked nicely. But no, in typical UA-cam fashion the reply is snark...

what should i get
sucmechris a real 2.1 system
I have had Echo and Sonos and all their models murder the mid-ranges. Still waiting for a good speaker to come out to kick them all off the market.
Did you have a studio? Wich has better sound quality Sonos one or echo studio?
So you think a studio is not worth the price? Is there a speaker at approximately the same price that has better sound quality?
Seems like they are really really really pushing to have Alexa in every home.
Gee I wonder why?🤔🤣
Pass!
Iv been a Sonos fan for years. I have every model. But to be honest unlike what this guy says the Sonos 1 doesn’t come remotely close in sound quality to the echo studio which I also have. Seriously it’s not even close. The echo studio is about 90 percent as good as the play 5 and when playing 3D music is just as good. Seriously the Sonos 1 and echo studio aren’t in the same league. But hey ho go and try for yourself. And with 2 echos in stereo, well that’s another story, absolutely breath taking...
What about 2 echos in stereo AND the sub? Is that overkill or does it add to the experience?
Do you say 2 echo studios are better then one Sonos play 5?
Have you still the same opinion?
Because I am thinking about buying a echo studio! Thank you very much for your help! 🙂👍👍
Is there a speaker for approximately the same price that has better sound quality or is the echo studio the best for 250€?
does it come with a remote?
Yea, your voice...
@Cher a Smile: You're missing the point...
@@TheHectorHuescaShow Definitely, but anyways one could buy a remote for it. I believe they are $25.
