Interesting facts: Struggling Laine still got 117 points in last 129 games. Boone Jenner was 1c and Gaudreu was in different line most of those games.
Habs get a matured Laine in his prime for a respectable price, the timing is nearly perfect for the habs aswell I can't wait for the season to begin
This may be the best powerplay in Habs history when Demidov arrives. Laine/Suzuki/Slaf/Hudson/Demidov. Each one from a different nation. Wow!!!
The Habs powerplay that made the league stop the man advantage after a goal wasn't bad : Moore-Béliveau-Richard-Geoffrion-Harvey. They change the rule after Béliveau's hat trick in like 44 seconds against the Bruins.

Very interesting. Next year will be a transition year and we will see experimentations. Out of respect for Caufield Suzuki and Slafkofski, they will start the season as the first trio. The addition of Laine will disrupt the other trio's quite a lot. I can't wait to see what St-Louis will do with that. I like Newhook and Roy. They both have great potential which we haven't fully seen yet. Don't laugh but good old Gallagher manages to deliver year after year and in front of the net he is one of the best. Dach and Laine need a grinder to disrupt things in front of the net. It is a complex topic and I can't wait to see it unfold.

Caufield was more a playmaker this season with Nick and Juraj. I really hope he will be a sniper a gain this season and get his confidence back. (Sorry bad English I’m french Canadian)
Laine's biggest weakness is zone exit. His offensive metrics are excellent. If you can somehow avoid having him try to bring the puck up, he'll do fine.

On the sick podcast they are big on what they coined "The 123 line." Slaf/Dach/Laine are 1st,2nd,and 3rd overall picks. How could you defend against it? I think this is what you will see once Demidov enters the lineup. Suzuki/Caufield/Demidov will be 1a line. Can't wait! Cheers
I think they need to spread the size around. Having a line of caufield Suz and Demidov would be great, but spreading the height between 2 lines seems logical
@@liambaum6708 Yeah I agree. For sure these 3 big boys would be awesome to see together (and we might in certain circumstances). But I feel Cole should be tried on the second line. He'll score like crazy dude. He's ABSOLUTELY a first line player, but having the luxury to put an elite player like that on a second line, against lesser opposition, is a recipe for success for the team and the player.

I think the first powerplay will be Laine/Suzuki/Slaf/Matthews/Newhook. 2nd powerplay Caufield/Dack/Roy/Hudson/Guhle. Thats a good mix. Laine plays 2nd line with Dach and Caufield plays with Suzuki. This way the shooters are separated and they get to play with both Suzuki and Dach. Balance.

I think the chances of making the playoffs are not impossible but almost.
We seeme to have found a good first line last year. I hope this year with Dach and Laine we should be able to sort out a middle six.
Dach is still a huge question because of his injury history. I think Laine will do good with montreal, lots of yung talent to set him up.
Anderson can't possibly be as bad/ unlucky as last year. Im fairly certain he will bounce back.
Montreal scored 76 pts last year which is 15 pts short of a playoff spot. I dont think they have got 7 wins better maybe 80 to 86 points next season

Powerplay 2:
Caufield - Dach - Newhook
Matheson - Guhle
Two issues here. If youre putting Hutson on the PP. YOU MUST put another Dman on the ice with him. So you can put him on PP2 with Guhle because you can only put on D-man on PP1. And you keep Caufield on PP1.
@@davidgosselin1193 No, you don't have to. Makar doesn't have another d-man with him on the powerplay and they're doing just fine. Also, Laine has a better shot than Caufield. Don't get me wrong, I love Cole, just being realistic.

No way Roy over slaf
Two points:
1. I agree that Laine needs to be moved up to the first line with Suzuki. Not because he deserves it, but because he needs it. He has the most potential in the entire team, but his potential seems difficult to fully realize.
2. Armia needs to be moved up to the third line. Montreal hasn't given Armia much offensive responsibility, but he is one of the most skilled players on the team (even if not one of the best overall). This way, Montreal would have three strong offensive lines.
Bonus comment: Montreal should now invest in really strong defensive forwards so that one defensive line would be enough to break up the opponent's attack.
Put Laine with Suzuki until he gets back in the groove. He will have periods of drought so make sure they are short.

I just don’t get this line up??? Top two lines are pretty obvious. Now the issue is who plays on the second line with Laine and Dach. I would look at either Roy or Armia.
Admia had a great end to the season and he is a veteran, so ai may start with him.
Roy Newhook Armia line did look great last year but I would put Gally there instead of Armia to start.
As for fourth line, who cares !!! We don’t have the proper wingers to play with Evans.
I would keep Armia and Roy together with Dvorak on the 3rd
Habs are not making the playoffs this season boys, I'm sorry to inform you but Montreal will probably finished last in the Atlantic, we need to lower our expectations this team is still a work in progress

I've been a Montreal fan for a long time and it changes when time goes on Montreal makes worst decisions!!! A few years back they were one of the best teams in NHL they lost the Tampa Bay Lightning in the playoffs well we know that was fixed Canada's not winning the cup as long as Gary bettman is commissioner!!!! But at that time they had the best coaching NHL when they made it there then the next year the Fired Them!!! That's when they started going downhill and they went fast coach brings them this far in the playoffs and then they fire him!! I lost respect for this guy's the owners the GM the owners should have got involved and told the GM not to fire the coach for doing so good the year before then they treat some of their good players!!! So they had weekend of the team so we need to think now was this time on purpose was this an inside job to destroy the Canadian so they don't win the Stanley Cup? Or was it just planes stupidity? Every other team in NHL when the coach does good they give them a contract they don't fire them!!!

Add Dach, he didn't play last year (injury). 6'4 and 6'5 right there. It is a completly new lineup when you add these guys to your top 6.
@@jeans.plante512 Dach played 2 games when i check the stats and was part of the team but yes he was not on the ice due to injury. He is still not a totally new player in the team. there has not been many changes in the habs players since last year.

Insane??? With Gallagher, Armia, Anderson, Evans, Pezzetta, Dvorak. They're all ghosts on the 200 feet. And Savard, Barron, Struble ouf not easy too. They have 1 good Goalie, 4 good defenses and 6 good offense so guy's give me a brake. I'm ch all the way sins i can skate and i don't see them ready for playoff yet. And there is no enjury yet so imagine. 11 good players of 24 is not a big line up for me. Sorry guy's to blow your balloon. But it is what it is
I think with Demidov next year they could. But hey the amount of games they lost by one goal last year (i counted 27 times) They need more forwards, Laine will surely help it but not enough.
And also anything could happen i mean Montreal went in the stanley cup finals with the people you call ''ghosts''. I think if everyone plays well they is a chance
