🤣 Had the camera in the garden, filming another video - So figured I would grab some footage while i had it with me. Have had a few comments about doing a video of the machine, without any talking or music - so here we have it 😀
Got one of them and ye great but still need a petrol one for tops of hedges, problem I find now is I end up taking stupid amounts of hedge cutters to each job 😅
@@TheFullyChargedGardener Yeah the cord does annoy me personally, and get in the way sometimes but aside from that it's still the best battery hedger on the market and so lightweight too. I love using mine when I know I'm on the same hedge for awhile. Cheers mate
Great machine. Just a shame it's so easy to cut through the cord like I did recently. I was using `battery belt and harness rather than AR2000 though. So I don't know if that makes a difference.
Could I ask a question regarding trimming privet with my Stihl equipment ? over the years the privet branches have extended some distance from the trunk resulting in a wide hedge, is it ok to cut the hedge back hard, that will result in it looking a bit brown initially but will the hedge put out new foliage nearer the trunk ? Thanks for the informative videos.
Privet is a fast growing hedge It will look bare for a while but will soon grow back, Also if you trim it regularly it will produce more side shoots making for a more dense & compact hedge.
@@y9art I cut my privet hedge back hard to the bare wood of the trunks because it had been neglected and grown around 4-5ft wide. Its around 150ft long & I used hand tools to do it for a precise cut, it took around one full day to get it perfect. I watched a UA-cam video of the “West Country gardener” “renovating privet” and it gave me the confidence to do. Two summers later it looks incredible, already covered in tight growth & I have got the width down to 1ft along its entire length. Best decision I made & now it’s a doddle to trim 👍
👍 You can use AP batteries with this unit - but still need the cord. Not sure if there are any units on the way like this that will take the battery direct in the unit. You will have to ask Stihl 😀
@@TheFullyChargedGardener They won't talk to me 🤣, I thought seen as though you're connected you might have the inside scoop 😂. Probably under NDA already 🤣
Do you find it restrictive with the umbilical to the battery, just a big negative for me swapping hands or working off ladders, my first choice is the HSA86 but wish the blade speed was faster.
I don’t mind the umbilical at all - I like the way it spreads the weight. I don’t ever use this machine up a ladder, most of the trimming I do with this unit is low Buxus or Taxus. 👍
@@TheFullyChargedGardener I haven't personally, but there are people who like them a lot, obviously it does take away one cutting edge, but you were only really using one anyway. It works great on the finer stuff too.
@@TheFullyChargedGardener I've used one on a fuel hedge trimmer. It's a blast! Takes away most clippings and you can directly see where some new ones pop up.
Looks like very therapeutic work. It's nice to see a man take pride in his work. Very nice.. 👍
I really appreciate that - Thank you 👍
Nice tidy job Thanks
😀 Thank you 👍

@@TheFullyChargedGardener 👍👍👍
Awesome machine, I have the r version.
😀🧡 Cool 💪
Me too, the best machine i've ever used. And it's a beast. Takes branches 25mm thick if needed. 😅💪
Beautiful cut. 👌🏼
😀 It is an awesome bit of kit 👍
Wet, fresh growth, can be horrible to cut, but you made it look easy, love the curved top, 👌👍👍
😀 Chhers chap, started curving the tops a few years ago - it makes for more work, but softens the look of the hedges 👍
Ive heard curved tops help shed rain and helps fight blight. I dont know if it does or not, but that's a healthy, great looking hedge: great job 👍
Legend himself.
Nice job mate.. very tidy
😀 Cheers chap 👍
That is the finest hedge trimming that I've seen
Wow, excellent hedge cutter and skills of cutting you have 🙏🙏
Thank you
@@TheFullyChargedGardener welcome🙏
Bootiful technique 🤩👍
😀 Thank you
looks great you're a real Show case for STIHL Products
Very kind of you 👍
That's a crisp trim but I'm convinced that cable would drive me crazy...
The cable is definitely a marmite kinda thang - it really doesn’t bother me with the types of hedges I use this machine with.
Beautyful work. I love youre video's. Greets from Belguim. Evelyne

Very nicely done sir. I agree it’s a bloody beaut bit of kit 🤙🏻
Cheers chap - I know some guys are put off by the cord, but for the type of trimming I use it for, it really isn’t an issue 😀

Do you have any info about the new hedge trimmer from Stihl that will be released soon ? The HSA100, with internal battery slot and rotating handle
That's one healthy box hedge. And a nice trimming as well. Do you apply any fertilizer on them during the year?
😀 Thank you. I give them a foliar feed twice a year.
@@TheFullyChargedGardener sorry to jump in on an old chat but what foliar feeds do you use for hedges?
@@theconsistentnoddy9851 I use Maxicrop
@@TheFullyChargedGardener thanks for the reply, is that maxicrop complete garden feed?
@@theconsistentnoddy9851 Hi, no worries. This is the feed I use. Great stuff.

@@andyt704 Thanks for the reply and your reassurance about the hedge recovery, probably my fault not being hard enough with my cutting each year.

can't believe the difference of this to my HSA86, I do a fair bit of buxus with it and struggles so bad compared to this!
This thing is awesome! It performs just as well on dense Taxus too 👍
Do you keep your cutters nice and sharp?
What do you prefer the 24” or the 30”
I prefer the 30” 😀
Great work on that hedge mate 👍 Do you know if stihl are planning battery versions of those pro models?

What is the length of the cutting blade on that trimmer?

Whats with the different colours on the blade?
The orange part is a plastic thigh guard. 👍
