Dreamcatcher is one of the only few 3rd gen girl groups still active today, having clawed and struggled their way to a degree of success despite being from a small company and sticking to a rock concept that is not popular in Korea.
they’ve been around since 2014 (minx, 5), but 2017 as dreamcatcher (7). they’re known as the dark angels of kpop, and the face of rock in kpop. they are an older group, the oldest being 30 years old. they have incredible live vocals and have very difficult choreography so id recommend checking out a dance video. while having rock title tracks, they do edm, ballads, and of course, pop. dreamcatcher has something for everyone their debut song is chase me & starts the 6 part nightmare series (7 parts including japanese release)
Dreamcatcher was debuted in 2017. They're same generation with Blackpink, but Korean don't recognized them hence they're from small company. Obviously they're the best at everythings, especially when singing live.
Thank you for your reaction and welcome to InSomnia. To fully understand the power of Dreamcatcher, this is a song that NEEDS to be heard with live vocals and or live instruments as the chorus high belt is actually done by 5(6 with the showcase version) different members. It has a Dancear version from 1theK with full choreo and absolutely raw audio, and a band live version with live instruments, no choreo and even stronger chorus. Both are really outstanding singing performances. Search for: dreamcatcher justice dancear dreamcatcher justice band live
@@BostonMarkieReacts Yup. It translates to 'In Dreams'. A dreamcatcher is a spiritual tool used by some religions. The idea is that when a dreamcatcher is put in a window in a bedroom, it catches nightmares in its net, preventing them from reaching the sleeping person. Nightmares are said to be 'bigger' than pleasant dreams, so the dreamcatcher traps nightmares but allows the smaller dreams to fall through the netting. :)
Thank you for reacting to Dreamcatcher. Yep yep! They are known for incorporating rock elements into all of their title tracks. Their b-sides cover various genres, but some also have those rock elements as well. There are indeed 7 members. You are correct in that they are more mature. The youngest member is 25 and the oldest is 30. They've been around since 2017 as Dreamcatcher. 5 of them were around earlier, since 2014, as a different group. All in all, they are a pretty dope group of people. Very relatable and welcoming. Also, the member you said looks like Winter is Handong. I've actually made that comparison as well. lol If you want some more songs, you could try "Deja Vu" and "BEcause". "Deja Vu" is another epic sounding track. "BEcause" is just a solid banger that was a spooky summer release. Thanks again for the reaction! Threw you a sub and a like!
Also, also, agreed with the other comment mentioning the "It's live" band version. The title of the video is "[4K] Dreamcatcher - “JUSTICE” Band LIVE Concert [it's Live] K-POP live music show"
Dreamcatcher is my Ult Group. I think 'Justice' definitely should be in the running for SOTY so I normally would agree with you. But you cannot forget that IU exists; I think she will get SOTY with 'Love Wins All', which also is deserving of the title. IU is no slouch; she is most definitely THE MOST SUCCESSFUL K-Pop Female Soloist and her song is AMAZING. It made people all over the world get emotional. There are people who have never heard of Dreamcatcher who have cried to IU's songs. As much as I would LOVE to find out that 'Justice' gets that win, I think it will go to 'LWA'. Sorry to say, that's just how the business works.
You should check out their its live and dancEAR performance of justice. Its incredible. And yes the youngest member is 25 (Gahyeon, lead rapper, girl with the arrows), the glasses girl is Yoohyeon their lead vocalist, the one with the purple hair is Siyeon their main vocalist, the deep voiced main rapper is the second youngest member Dami, the Winter look alike is vocalist Handong and she's friends with Ningning, the girl with the tied hands is the oldest and leader Jiu, the black haired girl with the dancers is the main dancer Sua.
Welcome to the Dreamworld! Dreamcatcher are very unique. They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who consistently incorporate Rock and Metal in their title tracks, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip out your spine when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉 Justice is part two of a two-part series, the first one is OOTD, which sounds very differently. Just like ymenehcra for OOTD, an account named 9mynameis1 has been posting messages before the comeback. She posted that her seven friends became obsessed with the crown and have not been responding anymore, which corresponds with the secret diary Siyeon (our powerhouse main vocal, also known as Wolfie) is reading. The text there reads "How are you? I'm worried because you aren't replying." So what we are seeing here is the seven friends (Dreamcatcher) getting rid of their obsession with the crown (materialism, narcicism) by literally destroying it, which makes their friend rejoin them (there is an eighth person joining them near the end). There is also a lot of imagery about death and legendary figures like Valkyries or greek goddesses and legends. Reddit user PaintMeYaBasic has managed to identify these paintings in the MV: Hero by Edward Burne-Jones (from the tale of Hero and Leander), Valkyrie and a Dying Hero by Hans Makart, Hero and Leander by Salvator Rosa and finally "Justice" by Kenyon Cox in the center back. In the tale of Hero and Leander from Greek mythology, Hero is actually a priestess of Aphrodite (Venus in the Roman myths), so that is not the same as the hero who is taken from the battlefield by a Valkyrie in the other painting. But OOTD has the line "I'm Venus, Nephthys, call me a Goddess". It is likely there is a connection. While OOTD was about falling for the temptations of modern life and a satire on narcicism (especially influencers and fast fashion), I believe Justice is telling us to fight those temptations for a better world. It is a call to become a warrior for good in the world and fight the materialism that seems to be the most important thing for many people in the developed countries. You can see JiU break the bonds that hold her down, and we should do the same. There are also many references to their older MVs in this. The paintings also have a deeper meaning in Chase me, there is a sword in Deja Vu and Scream, the bite into the apple is a callback to BEcause and the tree to the Dystopia trilogy - and so on. There are many more. The 8th figure in the end could also be JiU from Deja Vu, finally breaking the cycle of violence and providing justice. Musically, I love the song. The guitars in the pre-chorus and chorus are pure heaven (just like Dongie with her wings). It has the right amount of heaviness for me, and it is an anthem and a call to action. I also love that they shortened the pre-chorus by two bars in the second half, throwing us into the chorus early. Justice is a brilliant, epic release, showing everyone that a group can still produce fantastic music and MVs after seven and a half years. I can't help it, I deeply respect these ladies and their whole team.

Good on them for sticking to the rock concept it suits them😊
