“Living off of ramen” is usually referring to the brand TopRamen or Maruchan $1 similar to your cup of noodles with the flavor packet. But the ramen shop is real ramen 🍜 with fresh noodles, meat, toppings and bone broth 🤤😄

Make sure that the base tea is a tea you like on its own already. I like oolong tea as a base. Next is milk selection. Try finding a place that does oat milk substitute (it will cost a little extra). Get as little ice as possible since the drink is already served cold. Sweetness is to your preference. I prefer 30% but I'd recommend 75% since you're still on the fence about milk tea. I personally don't like boba pearls so I get no toppings or I put egg pudding. My favorite drink is a brown sugar oolong milk tea with graham crackers as the topping
Boba pearls themselves are not for everyone. I tend to prefer jellies myself. I usually get a jasmine tea base with herbal/grass jelly or rainbow/fruit jelly. Most places let you customize the sweetness too, and I like mine with a low percentage of sugar 25%-30%. But I agree with others that you need to make sure you like the tea base first, then try toppings. Sometimes the shop attendant will have good recommendations too if you need help ~
Upgrade your supernoodles in ramen style by adding a dash of soy sauce and hot sauce, then piling stuff on the top - ham/shredded chicken/boiled egg/veggies. Whatever you have to hand works really and it makes a sad snack into a pretty good meal.

I worked at ramen shop and instant pot noodles are definitely different than one made from scratch. The broth alone takes a couple of days to make. Not sure about other shops but we roasted our bones before making the broth.
This is such a cute and chill game! I watched this video twice last night and this morning I had to buy the game, especially since it's only $4 right now! Sitting down with my first cup of tea of the day and vibing out to this game was such a good way to start my 6th day of work this week. I really hope we get to see Morph play more of this game. 💛
Boba tea varies SO MUCH, and proper shops have so much customization, like % of sugar (I do 25% or less), amount of ice, instead of boba, theres lychee jelly, coconut jelly, tapioca, or even add cheese foam to the top. And of course theres many base tea flavors to choose from. Traditional Milk Tea is honestly my fav, it is classic. A lot of flavors now are gimmicky and just sugar. Besides that bubble tea rant, lol, very cute game!!

Actual ramen from Japan is more like what's shown in the game, proper fresh noodles in broth, there are different types of broth with toppings like pork cha shu, bamboo shoots, seaweed, fishcake etc. Soup varies from a thick pork broth called Tonkotsu to a thin soy sauce based one.
The secret for a good Boba tea is... having good tea. That's it... Buy granulated tapioca somewere and add a few in your hot tea>Wait for it to cool down>add your favorite milk (cow or vegetable based) >Enjoy. Better yet! If you don't like the chewy tapioca balls in standard boba then you might want to try one with popping bubbles. It might not be "genuine" boba, but it's way easier to drink when the bubbles release their juice at the slightest bite. Boba is hit or miss for some ppl and tastes. Some ppl like sweeter or fruity drinks and others just don’t like the traditional tapioca boba but may like jellies or popping boba (little juice filled pearls).
I'm an Asian who loves milk tea but doesn't like tapioca pearls OR jellies! It's not for everyone and that's okay. It... doesn't taste like anything to me and the texture is too chewy and uncomfortable. I just order largest milk tea that I like without the bubbles and chug it down :)

9:55 - it’s the same here in Canada. We have a brand called Mr. Noodles (“noodles in a cup” written underneath). It’s the same as your cup noodles (ramen), but we just call it by the brand name! It comes in like 4 flavours that I’ve seen and in either a paper cup or paper bowl that you add hot water and the flavour powder to, or in a little plastic bag that you put in your own bowl and add water to. They’re usually under $1 CAD, which is why a lot of folks on a budget (like students) “live off of” them 😅 They’re wicked handy to bring for lunch at work, or just for a quick meal at home 😊 I had one myself for supper just last night actually 😅 Edit: continued watching, now I’ve got a side note on littering 😂 Was on the exit ramp of a highway, sitting at the red light with a car ahead of us. On a lamp post next to us was a “no littering” sign. The car ahead of us opened their car door and placed a coffee cup on the ground before the light turned green and drove off! 😵💫 So I wrote down their licence plate to report it 😅 On another occasion, my buddy bought a pack of smokes at the corner store behind his place and on the drive back (while at the stop sign directly next to his apartment building!!) he opens the pack, rolls down the window and is about to throw the plastic wrapper outside!!! I flipped out saying we’re literally about to go into his place where he can throw it in the garbage instead of littering! He freaked out on me for me having freaked out on him 🙄 So instead of going inside with him, I went home 😂 he was pissed! We had just gotten back after a double date at a baseball game and he expected the night to end differently 😂

I'm lazy only to the point where my car ends up looking like a dumpster, because I don't throw things outside (nor do I let my children), and it'll take me weeks to properly clean out my vehicle. So it builds. But I'd prefer that over throwing it on the street. The only thing I do throw out/let my kids throw out, is things like apple cores or banana peels (but even then, I make sure they wait until we're next to a path or something, so an animal won't get hit trying to eat it 😅). Rice with orzo is one of my faves. there's a box at aldi that's garlic veggie flavor and I mix in some cheap sausage and eat it for dinner all the time. I love boba, but you gotta get fresh ones, the ones in cans tend to be made w added gelatin, not just the starch. And they're weirrrdd. But jelly "boba" is good too!

I too hate boba! It’s the texture I can’t get on with 😂 highly recommend getting ‘proper’ packet ramen from the international aisles of any supermarket. I don’t like super noodles or anything like that but adore ramen! 50p per packet, crack and egg in it and it’s the easiest cheapest meal! Not terribly nutritious but you can add anything too if pretty much!
Ramen stores are meant to be more pricy especially if it’s authentic. When people say they ‘live off of ramen’ they’re referring to mi goreng or shin ramyun most likely, which is also affordable in the west. But yes in asia it is much much cheaper, mi goreng here can be $1/packet, but back home it’s literally less then 10 cents per packet Even the ramen stores are cheaper, you can eat double for the same price as one ramen in the west
There really some words that I took on as part of my vocabulary that I love for no discernible reasons, vibe is a great example of this, but then people started saying loggers and dead ass and I felt so old suddenly.
I also didn't like the texture and flavor of standard boba either! If you like sweet things try Taro, it's my favorite and soo good and earthy. Instead of boba you can also have them replace the little balls with fruits, jelly or even crushed cookies! There's a lot of options to customize your own drink.
This game is so freaking cute! Btw I drink milk tea boba cold. My favorite is black sesame but now it’s hard to get in my city in the US. I only get milk tea with boba. Also the ramen can be cheap like 50 cents for a cup of prepackaged which is what people live off of everyday. But if you go to a proper ramen shop it’s not cheap. You can pay between $15 to $25 in my city. No one is living off of that everyday unless you are rich.
It's quite common to find people like the milk tea but not the tapioca so you aren't alone lol. Maybe you can try other toppings like grass jelly or pudding and see if you prefer those :0
If you dont like black sugar tapioca pearls, try changing them to honey tapioca. I was not a fan of boba in my home country, but i am doing university in Taiwan. The selection and flavor here is larger than any boba shops i can find in other countries. I love milk tea with green tea base, honey tapioca, extra aloe, 50% sugar level and 100% ice level. I find this combination very pleasant, as it is not too sweet making you feel queasy The aloe adds crunchiness. If you dont like the tapioca pearls try popping boba And another personal favorite of mine is 梅子綠茶 /MeiZiLüCha/ which is plum green tea (20% plum for extra sour) (10% for mild sour) Thought i'd share some drinks i find good 😊
I don’t like boba either, specially the tapioca pearls. I recommend trying slushy drinks or non-tea drinks and popping boba (a common topping in frozen yogurt shops, if you ever wondered what those are), i like the texture more :]
I love the taste of boba tea but I have sensory issues with the texture so I stopped drinking it, I do recommend a fruity tea like mango with mango and lychee boba OR Brown sugar boba tea either hot or cold it tastes like bonfire toffee and made me very nostalgic.
Super noodles and Pot Noodle are definitely not Ramen. Though we do have a big thing with Ramen here in the UK, just mostly in big cities. My favourite Ramen is about £0.30 a packet. Also Boba tends to be cold, but for recommendations it depends on what kind of Boba you had last time as there are a lot of different types of ways to have Boba

Just arrived. I don't like basic Boba tea I prefer the weird or tart flavours. Depending on the flavour I will also substitute the tapioca pearls for coconut jelly, like more tropical flavours. My favourite is durian but I know that is an unpopular one.

You should order chilled Milk Tea if you liked Boba, but the not tapioca bits in it. Because the main part of the drink is sweetened Milk Tea
cold green tea boba with milk is really tasty, also the original boba is made from tapioca and is not supoused to pop, you have to chew it

I too hate boba! It’s the texture I can’t get on with 😂 highly recommend getting ‘proper’ packet ramen from the international aisles of any supermarket. I don’t like super noodles or anything like that but adore ramen! 50p per packet, crack and egg in it and it’s the easiest cheapest meal! Not terribly nutritious but you can add anything too if pretty much!
Ramen stores are meant to be more pricy especially if it’s authentic. When people say they ‘live off of ramen’ they’re referring to mi goreng or shin ramyun most likely, which is also affordable in the west.
But yes in asia it is much much cheaper, mi goreng here can be $1/packet, but back home it’s literally less then 10 cents per packet
Even the ramen stores are cheaper, you can eat double for the same price as one ramen in the west
I absolutely hate toppings in bubble tea. But I happily drink Taro with no toppings, it tastes kinda like a vanilla milkshake.
There really some words that I took on as part of my vocabulary that I love for no discernible reasons, vibe is a great example of this, but then people started saying loggers and dead ass and I felt so old suddenly.
I also didn't like the texture and flavor of standard boba either! If you like sweet things try Taro, it's my favorite and soo good and earthy. Instead of boba you can also have them replace the little balls with fruits, jelly or even crushed cookies! There's a lot of options to customize your own drink.

Btw I drink milk tea boba cold. My favorite is black sesame but now it’s hard to get in my city in the US.

Also the ramen can be cheap like 50 cents for a cup of prepackaged which is what people live off of everyday.
But if you go to a proper ramen shop it’s not cheap. You can pay between $15 to $25 in my city. No one is living off of that everyday unless you are rich.
It's quite common to find people like the milk tea but not the tapioca so you aren't alone lol. Maybe you can try other toppings like grass jelly or pudding and see if you prefer those :0

If you dont like black sugar tapioca pearls, try changing them to honey tapioca.
I was not a fan of boba in my home country, but i am doing university in Taiwan. The selection and flavor here is larger than any boba shops i can find in other countries. I love milk tea with green tea base, honey tapioca, extra aloe, 50% sugar level and 100% ice level. I find this combination very pleasant, as it is not too sweet making you feel queasy
The aloe adds crunchiness.
If you dont like the tapioca pearls try popping boba
And another personal favorite of mine is 梅子綠茶 /MeiZiLüCha/ which is plum green tea (20% plum for extra sour) (10% for mild sour)

I don’t like boba either, specially the tapioca pearls. I recommend trying slushy drinks or non-tea drinks and popping boba (a common topping in frozen yogurt shops, if you ever wondered what those are), i like the texture more :]
I love the taste of boba tea but I have sensory issues with the texture so I stopped drinking it, I do recommend a fruity tea like mango with mango and lychee boba OR Brown sugar boba tea either hot or cold it tastes like bonfire toffee and made me very nostalgic.
Tapioca boba with milk tea is not for me, but I looove the bursting boba in a rooibos based fruity tea drink
Super noodles and Pot Noodle are definitely not Ramen. Though we do have a big thing with Ramen here in the UK, just mostly in big cities. My favourite Ramen is about £0.30 a packet.
Also Boba tends to be cold, but for recommendations it depends on what kind of Boba you had last time as there are a lot of different types of ways to have Boba

Just arrived. I don't like basic Boba tea I prefer the weird or tart flavours. Depending on the flavour I will also substitute the tapioca pearls for coconut jelly, like more tropical flavours. My favourite is durian but I know that is an unpopular one.
