Poor political leadership informs the bad governance that is Liberia’s greatest barrier to social and economic development. Governing these challenges requires knowledgeable leaders and an equally informed electorate. Liberia is not poor, it is poorly led.
A president must possess certain characteristics. In order to demonstrate to the public his true desire to be elected, a candidate should address specific issues and not always envelop himself in a cloud of patriotic remarks to avoid the problems of this country.
