An additional benefit of a canning funnel is that it helps keep the rims of your jars clean. You still need to wipe your jar rims. But the process is just generally neater!

Your video was very timely 🤗We are planning to sit down today to talk about a garden and I told my husband that I must learn to can but have no idea where to start. I thought about you and then the notification for this video popped up ❤️ Thank you!

Thank you for making this! I’ve been canning for years but only water bath. I’ve had a fear of pressure canning. 😰

Love this info. I have had friends ask me to do a canning tutorial. I love canning. Every year I branch out to a new food. This past year was my first year with meat and broth. This year I'm going to try soups and dry beans. I am gifted jars on a regular which is a huge blessing. I always gift a few canned items and some fresh veggies to the giver 💙. Even though canning is hard work with all the prep, cleaning and such, Its also very relaxing. There is nothing better than opening your own homegrown food in the middle of winter or a weeknight after a head day of work. Im so grateful that I found your channel. 💙💙

This was so helpful! Thank you for taking the time to make the video. I've been wanting to start canning in the next year and didn't really know where to start. This answered all of my questions!

As somebody who started water canning last year... phew! I felt like it was so time consuming and I was in a constant "hurry up and wait" mode. But I want to say thank you for explaining how to measure the headspace with that "knife" tool. I was just eyeballing it last year, but lots of quilting has made me proficient at quarter-inch seams. :) P.S. I hope you go in-depth on sterilizing jars, as I was just popping them into the oven and keeping them hot for a couple hours after washing them out.

Thank you!! I can't wait to see the rest. I mostly need motivation and a refresher...haha! I used to can but haven't for years and I am really looking forward to getting back into it. Thank you for doing these videos

This is an extremely informative video. I really appreciated it. By the way, I absolutely love the paint color in your kitchen. It’s plays off beautifully against the color of your cabinet which are a rich color ~ Janet 😘

You are so good about answering questions that you covered in your video. I just wonder if people just play them and not listen. Ha ha ha! Thank you for reminding everybody to check for chips. Very important. Also all the resources to find jars and lids. Let’s were getting really scary and I was skeptical to use off off brands and have my canning fail. I Missouri I can go to the local extension center and they will check your seals l. Not sure if other states do that also

Do I have to use a pressure canner? Can I can in a water bath? Also, I know you Iove your ball canning book, but I’ve heard amazing reviews on the Amish Canning Cookbook and down to own if you’ve seen/used that one! So happy to follow you here from one big family Mom to another! ❤️

What are you planning to can? Which canner you use is dependent on what you put in it.

Hi Jessica. New subscriber here. Merry Christmas Eve! You have a beautiful family. I have a pressure canner, but haven’t used it yet. It’s still in the box. Lol! Once you can your food is it pretty much good indefinitely like regular canned goods? I know canned goods have Best Buy dates, but I’ve heard the food is still good, but just the quality will lessen over time. We’re only a family of 4, so want to make sure we’ll eat everything before it goes bad. Could you maybe make a vid on canning meat? I have so much in my freezer and I want to can it in case of a power outage. Thank you and God bless ❤️🙏🏼

Great video! I have water bath canned only. We have a gas stove and I've heard it's hard to pressure can with gas and it's easier with electric. Still wondering if I should give it a try though.😊

Zach has canned before but I have not... I have some apples that I would like to turn into apple sauce & can it... I have been trying to build up the courage for over a year now. X-D
I would love your contact for the Amish bulk lids!

I have a pressure canner (presto with stainless steel bottom for induction cook tops). I noticed yours is a glass top stove, have you had any issues canning using an induction burner? I am looking at purchasing an outside burner (crab boil set up) for my pressure canning? I have not pressure canned in over a decade, so there is some fear I will fail... any suggestions?

You are using the jar handler upside down.

Since the rubber grips fell off the handles on ours years ago, I sometimes prefer to use it upside down so I am holding the rubber on the other end. It works either way ☺️
