- I PANICKED TODAY WHEN I HEARD AND SEEN THIS : ANGELES CITY, PHILIPPINES
I have always said things can be very challenging here in the Philippines. With the lockdown it has become a super challenge to try to find things that I need to live.

About me : Retired American Expat Brian & Filipina wife Luisa, living in the Angeles City / Clark Pampanga Philippines.
Welcome to the Philippines!!! Chances are they will run out or closed! You should have been more prepared ahead of time just like everyone else!!!😎
Glad you found your meds Brian. Keep yourself and your girls safe.
God bless mate.. keep your family safe!
One of the first things I did when stores started to close was get an additional 3 month supply of my BP meds. I'm good for about 5 months.
God bless you both 🙏❤️ She is clearly a very hard worker and dedicated to her customers. Stay safe and healthy. Sending love and good vibes to your family and everyone across the globe 🌏 ❤️
Miss your daily adventures! Thanks!
I was a 30 cc insulin American diabetic, late onset when I moved to the Philippines. As a vet my insulin was free, but not in the Philippines. I read an article about how you can completely get off diabetic drugs, I did not like depending on meds, so I began a regular 30 hour fast twice a week and I have been able to drop all diabetic drugs! I still buy test strips to keep an eye on it but I have taken no drugs for over 15 months and my sugar never goes over 200! No more injections!!! Yea!! I still eat ice cream but not a gallon at once anymore!
Take care Brian.. all the best to the Family
Love the bike videos and the sound is perfect
Brian glad you got your Meds that same Southstar on Fields saved me too when I was running out recently. Try the other Southstar on Perimeter road if you need more meds. Good luck mate!
Hey philly,rhode island here,be safe there,hope you have supplies,etc.things will get worse -b4 get any better,any time soon.I won't rant or rave about why/what is coming.protect yours.peace.
Lovely view of the city awesome
YOU AND THE FAM STAY SAFE BROTHER BRIAN !!! ONE DAY AT A TIME !!!
Philly I'm a type 2 diabetic and through my doctor I'm off meds now...I want to say that type 2 diabetes is a dietary disease not a chronic disease!
What this basically means is stop putting carbs into your body or starches because all of that turns into suger...
So what I was told by my doctor was I can eat all the meats and green vegetables that I want without it raising my bloodsuger. So now I dont need to take my meds before meals anymore ...
Keep in mind we take meds to lower our bloodsuger when we eat but if we are not putting any suger into our body like carbs /starches than we are ok !
If you want to know more about beating this disease and not taking meds anymore look up on youtube...
Dr. Jason Fung cureing diabetes
Another show you can look up on youtube is .. Beat Diabetes
tala loa
Also check out Dr. Berg.
Go keto diet, no carbs no sugar 👉🏼 no diabetes.
@@marb2189 I do neither! I eat what I want because I walk 6.5 miles a day carrying a pair of 8 lb dumbbells. Food goes in and I burn it. No problem! Oh, I'm 62 and I take no meds. I guess I'm blessed but I believe in taking care of myself.
Pharmacies are essential so they should be open. Calling on the executives of Mercury Drug to open the pharmacy but take measures to protect your employees and customers.
true
i know a number of people who got rid of it through intermittent fasting and choosing the right food... now they're cured of diabetes... bye bye prescription meds
Overall good vid! Good info!
Hi philly. Maganda umaga. Its like a ghost town there now very quiet but a steady traffic flow its a shame whats going on now but i suppose we have to get used to it and just keep safe mate you and lotlot and hannah grace. Scott arlene and baby Scott expat in the Philippines 👍🇵🇭😎🇦🇺👍
Always shopped at Robinsons Mall. Loved the magnetic escalator for the shopping trolleys
Happy you get your medecine i know how i feal when my medecine is running out but not like your situation stil we have food and medecine here and its not like in Filiphines where they shut down everything here its stil open and look the same as before the virus....I hope this will be over soon.....Take care of you and your family..S.O.G from sweden
Brian I love to vacation in the Philippines. But when the solids hit the air conditioning you can see the pitfalls of living there. I'm from the UK and I thank my lucky stars I'm living here in these difficult times
Hello from Phoenix...thanks for the ride Brian👌
Glad you got your meds. Keep up the reports and the bike rides.
Hope you and the family are all doing well. I'm a diabetic too. I take metformin and gliclazide. So far I have never had the problem of drug stores being out of stock. I was once told by a doctor that there are so many diabetics here, most drug stores will always have them. They are considered a "maintenance" medication. Good luck with your search. Keep well.
The Filipinos love to eat rice that's why there are too many diabetics.
Grace and Peace to the family
Hi Brain, stay safe and god bless your family.
Here in Toronto Canada here's what's close.
Pretty much everything is open except non essential.
1. Nail salon
2. Babrber shop
3. Playplace/playground
4. All levels of school
5. All restaurants are open but take out only/delivery.
Stay safe and stay strong buddy.
Glad you were able to get your medicine. Hope they follow-up and call you when they get more in. Diabetes isn't something mess with. My father had it and my brother has it (has to give himself injections). Lot Lot is a good business woman. Hope you guys can have that getaway vacation when this CHIMMP situation is over. Stay safe.
Gotta "tap" the MAC. That's what we used to say in South Jersey! Money Access Center - when they first came out years ago!
So frustrating dealing with medications specially at this situations😩Everyone’s busy trying to work and organized to help but it’s just the way it is😩 Keep on trying though and all of us keeping safe and sound🥰Thanks for the ride💕
All hospitsals have pharmacies inside, its worth checking those out for presriptions if your desparate, be aware they can charge more.
I was thinking the same thing.
The struggle is real. I live in Doha and have a house in Bulacan. I run into the same problems both places. I am laughing because all of your comments and observations are a xerox copy of what comes out of my mouth l(both finding things and driving) Chin up brother!
I saw what you saw also. My wife saw that her bank was closed. I never thought I would have seen this happening.
Thanks for showing me my bank atm is still open... as an aside, I do have an emergency 2-week stash of the 'met'... I'll watch the rest of the video tonsee if you checked the mercury at marquee, fingers crossed for you as I watch :-)
Hey Brian its really hard 4 the people need meds Thanks man God pls you let's wait it out my friend will make it every bday 🙏.....take care of your family 🍻
Ohh my God,it's hard too,no medicines in that place..hay
It made me laugh when you call it a MAC machine. I still do also, and I get called out on it constantly that it shows my age. I'm only 45. Lol
Stay Brian regards from the UK.
cool vlog this GTA helmet cam chat is neato!
Here in vegas only open is essential business. Like groceries, drugstores, gasoline station and bank.I think, Restaurant is open only pick up and drive thru..be safe Brian
I lived in Mt View on Debra St. by the international school. for about 8 months..until I found this house up past Mabalacat... I moved here in 2015.
Glad I do not live in AC any longer.
what's wrong with AC compare to your new place?
@@georgemelo2443 I am just not a city kind of guy. Up here it is a little cooler with almost always a breeze and the air is cleaner. I live in a small village so there is always good local foods.Also...the rent is way cheaper. I rent a modern 3 bd/2 bath house for 50k a year..
@@richardknowles9212 $2000 for the whole year that's a gear deal
Saw is the PAST TENSE of the verb see, and usually comes immediately after NOUNS and PRONOUNS. Seen is the PAST PARTICIPLE of the VERB see. Generally, seen is used alongside have, has, had, was or were in a sentence to make COMPOUND, so it's heard and saw!
I’m looking back at this ...now you see the real downside in living in phil, it’s a lesson Learnt. I will be approaching methods differently form now. Love the channel.🙏
Can you order through Amazon? Amazon has set up their own mail-order pharmacy. Is it possible to have it delivered to the Philippines?
Glad you were able to get your medication Brian. Had to laugh at your disappointment at Mad Max not setting off any car alarms in the underground car park, you're just a big kid at heart.
Brian, I can tell you how to get off metphormine like I did! I have type 2 diabetes and I had all the complications but my gf makes me a tea and I drink 2 glasses a day and all my symptoms are gone now!
what kind of tea is it?
@@georgemelo2443 I'm in kabankalan now but when I came to Manila from California in July, I ran out of metphormine pills but I was sick and tired of taking them along with gapaptentin pills for my neuropathy which was bad so I discovered the "insulin plant" so my gf bought 5 of them and also the leaves of the papaya plant. She takes 3 leaves of the insulin plant and about a half leaf of the papaya plant and she boils them in water (about half a gallon for 15 minutes or so and let's it cool down. I drink 2, 10oz. glasses a day and not only does it lower my blood sugar but my bad neuropathy is GONE!, my gastritis and acid reflux are GONE! and, it also cleans the body's filter organs too. I now only take a little Lantus insulin to maintain low blood sugar but I'm wiening myself off of that too!
I know there's mercury near the rotunda by Pure Gold closer to Nepo and also one around the corner from the BPI across from Nepo
They may have closed that Mercury to clean it and set it up like the one on Fields. I was there on Sat, granted everyone had to wear face masks but that Mercury had no plastic sheeting and was wide open with a lot of customers. I had a bit of a wait to get taken care of.
It’s open now with the plastic sheeting and restricted access.
Brian, 3 months on Ketogenic way of eating no more Statins required, check it out.
I just realized this is a year-old video.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Salad! Salad! 5, 10, 15, 20!! Salad! Salad! 5, 10, 15, 20!!
Baaa.. luuut.... Baaa.. luuut....!!!
Thanks for a day in Angeles City!!!
Did you take the baffle out of your muffler? It’s loud! Lol. Hard time understanding you on bike. But I’m half deaf anyhow 😂😂 be safe my friend!
Love this drive vlogs, and no traffic!! lol. Does the drug store there offer options for 3 months supply like we do in America? I know during the pandemic now is a definite no but on a normal climate, do they?
I think you can buy as much as you want. The problem with be if they have it in stock.
PhillyinthePhilippines That's good to know. I will always keep that in the back of my mind, supply might not always be available.
Our banks here in NC you need to make an appointment to go in for service front doors are locked. :)
I understand and feel your pain. I am also a diabetic. So, I was really hoping you are able to get something. As you know being a diabetic, when you do not have your medicines, your are really a walking zombie. Now, in the great state of North Carolina, we have stay at home in place starting today. I better stock up on my diabetic medication right now too.
philly in new york when i was homer last time the cvs pharmacy supposedly the largest in usa closed at 12 noon on saturday and sunday
'
My understanding is that most people in the Philippines are out of work and there really is no unemployment money coming in. With the banks closed and no money for food what do they do. Here is US guns are flying off the shelf. The President the other day deemed gun stores are essential businesses and can remain open. Thus, it appears things may be get worse. When people are hungry they get desperate. What is the Philippine government doing to feed people who have no money? If nothing then do you expect the sthf.
I would suggest ordering online, except I know how the PH postal system works...good luck!
Good show Brian , glad you got the meds , I just hope my store doesn’t close , otherwise I have to drive 11/2 hrs to the city !! Take care lad !!!
Oh and also Brian re those spare ribs GREAT no probs BUT your sauce that you love to dip them in can contain high and I mean HIGH amounts of sugars!
I went through the same B.S. when I needed one of my meds (here in Minnesota) Sorry, out of stock, and we don't know when we'll be getting it in, might be a month, or two...........I called around and found a 30 day supply and put a hold on it. went and got it. Well when that was getting low, i called back to my store, and they had it in, so got a 90 day supply. It is one of the 2 meds I take for hypertension (oh, it's a 2-part pill half that and the other diuretic).......
Take care Brian..Do you can to do tea of camomile to down your air...
I can't tell you the many many headaches I had when I lived in AC back in 2000. Made it one year and moved my ass back to the US and haven't been back since. Possibly thinking of visiting in a couple of years. Simple things like paying bills, getting money, getting around, medical care ( pay up front deposits and pay the final bill upon discharge ), feeling like you have to watch your back, out of stock phrase everywhere, piss poor environment and infrastructure and some people think its a cheap place to live! Remember, you get what you pay for so don't expect much. Where I'm living in the southern US I can live just as cheap here and not have to tolerate inconveniences, crappy medical system and the piss poor living conditions. Yes, the Philippines is not for everyone and I will take it one step further, I would be willing to bet for every 10 people who try and retire there, 5 might make it 3 years and then they will return to their home country.
@Mark Yates Exactly!! I don't want to sound like I'm bad mouthing the Philippines because I'm not at all. Just a very hard place for me to feel comfortable. I love the Filipino people and culture and they are the perfect example that money doesn't buy happiness for if it did, they would be one of the most miserable cultures on the face of the planet. Americans really need to look in the mirror and take a lesson from the Filipino culture. Are we really happy in the US or just content. A big difference between the two!
Uh oh we can’t handle Brian going off his medications OMG 😱 we’re in trouble now!!! Good luck brother I hope you can work it out!!!
Watson is same as Mercury found in SM malls. In the Visayas they have Rose Pharmacy chains together with Mercury and Watson.
Should have bought an extra quanity before the lock down. I had my doctor give an early perscription. Good luck.
You should have planned ealier to get the meds that you need for at least 6 months because of the “shotdowns”.
Not to be the bearer of bad news but it's only gonna get worse... be careful and will pray 4 you guys... so happy I'm in the USA right now...
Or Canada, or Australia....
Time Will Tell On That...
thats my main worry they wont have what i need when i do come over
Maybe in the future get medicine at South Star as they seem better taking care of customers. Whatcha your blood sugar and what you eat. Thanks for informative video.
i have a friend in mindanao area and they work in a pawnshop. it was temporary closed but now reopened.
Have you heard anything about the backlog in the morgue in Angels City, the family had to cancel our summer vacation this year due to the virus.
I love the sun and heat there
usually stores at the mall are closed now except maybe groceries and banks, mercury drug have their own branches outside the mall and mostly they are open, the problem is they cant re-stock as they usually do bec of ton of checkpoints and each of them may have different rules like mayors rules or barangays rules beside the orders of the president, and customers are buying all the supplies more than they need bec of the on going lockdown and scared that they might not be able to last since week by week the pandemic is worsening and mostly the lockdowns might get more strict and may take longer than the said date of uplifting it, and no the police will not shoot you bec you are looking for maintenance drugs, and every people who are experiencing this event is also questioning why is this happening or why the drugs stores are close its just common to ask that nothing bad about that, i think this video gives you an idea on what is happening outside now and its a good thing bec you will be prepared to this, like visit other branches and find that they are stores like in your case have those medications you need beside the mercury drug that is located in the mall, its a good thing and happy for you that you finally got them.
One of the reasons why I don’t live in the Philippines full time is that I’m also Type 2 and take metformin and insulin. I usually have plenty on hand here at home and when I travel. Take care of yourself, Brian!
GLIBENCLAMIDA?
Glibenpirida?
Brian question for u why did u wait until last minute to get ur medicine weeks ago u no what was going on why wouldnt u go and buy and stock up on ur medication just saying
hi , what kind of motor bike are you riding?
Ahh I remember the Mercury drug store from the 80s!
There is also, the community pharmacy that you can go too for your prescription.
Love your channel. Sending good vibes from San Francisco, CA - from an Angeles City native
Brian is there anyone in the states that can get you that medication ?
One of my only concerns about moving there is the medication and health care, sounds like the health care is okay in the big cities but in the provinces may be different. Hopefully they have what I’ll need!
Ofcourse lol, but if its pandemic like this, any country will be doomed like Italy with a great health care
Don't come here if you are lacking balls, they are needed here.
@@captainsaveaho4838 Guam? The U.S. Air Force sends personnel or family to Manila for medical treatment they can't get on Guam.
It's a problem when you expect western style health care in South East Asia. It just isn't, and you can't expect a whole country to change their system to fit your expectations. That's why US Marines are always welcome anywhere cause they "Adapt and Overcome" ✌✌✌
👍🏻👍🏻’s up! I would worry more about political unrest.
It will take along time for that to happen... most people love duterte here and he can do no wrong in their eyes.
Did you just want to ride around or can you call around to see who’s open?
Stay indoors Rocky a lot safer 😂😂
i know that area. sucks how places are closed
When I was there I priced my medication at the Metro Market Pharmacy at Ayala Mall. The meds were in inventory. I think I use the same as you do.
Brian, have you tried the Mercury Drug near AUF Hospital? I have no problem getting my meds there.
hey Brian thanks very much for this video I really enjoy your videos with that camera in your helmet on the motorbike. At 20 seconds into the video you are roaring up Vincent Road on your motorbike and right on 20 seconds you are passing Andrew Street where I lived for five years before being forced back to Australia thanks very very much for the video. When you turn right out of Vincent Road to check whether those little stores were open I must’ve travelled that little road five times a day . yes out of stock out of stock the favourite saying of the Philippines when I left there on 17 February nowhere in Angeles city in Manila could you buy 300 mg aspirin only the 100 mg aspirin plus some other stuff i wanted. if you ever really get stuck for medicine I went to university hospital on MacArthur Highway sure cost me maybe 500 or 1000 pesos but at least I got what I wanted
By the way do you still ride that bike like a Demon ha ha
@@ramroddrone5449 i have slowed down a lot since I got here. It's not my driving i am worried about..it's other drivers that worry me.
PhillyinthePhilippines Yes mate other drivers remember in the Philippines the space in front of you is not yours anyone can jump into it I’m sure you know that by now stay safe and please make more videos with that camera in the helmet I love them
Give your pharmacy a call to deliver your Meds to you. Generic meds are as good as the real one. As a veteran, VA will issue meds, real or generic.
ATM? I call them BTM(Beer Token Machine) I usually use the BPI machines next to the Police post by the entrance to Diamond Sub Division.
My doctor said to have a 6 month supply of meds if i ever move overseas, if anything goes wrong meds are one of the things that are limited. Look at venezuela, they have nothing if you arent on the one side.
That Generic is one of the larger ones. That's where I get my meds. Metformin? Glimiperide?
Uncle Brian fester from Adams family hehe in good way brian😊
Philly what kind of mask is that, and where did you purchase it from?
I purchased it online months ago before the CHIMMP became a problem. I ordered it through Lazada.
You can go back to the States at any time Brian!
Is AUF Mercury closed too?
that face mask is bad ass I want one of those for around Bangkok
What US bank are you using as mine charges 250 pesos to use the ATM so I am stuck using WU as it's cheaper? Thanks.
I have a Philippines bank account with BPI. I never use my bank card from the states.
Travel Boy if you were in the military try USAA bank. They reimburse most or all of atm fees
Use Charles Schwab. They reimburse all ATM fees at the end of the month. And when you withdrawal from Philippines ATM it’s the up to date USD to Peso currency.
Hi man, Enjoying ur vids, ive subscribed. Ive got 2 kids in Cebu but Im currently living in Scotland. I agree its out of order that mercury drug store closes and does not offer an alternative. Its one of the things that concerns me about living in Phils permanently, will I get good treatment should I get seriously ill ?
Thats the Casino that our Chinese Landlord worked from. He had a Mini Bus and took Chinese Gamblers on Tours around Luzon at our apartment in Mountain View.
Hi...... I suggest to take some money and keep it as back up in case the bank closed you don know what will happen we like you 👍
when i go to mercury i buy 2 months supply of each mmed so i never get caught short i still have and use my mercury card in got in general santos in 1978
