Well done Robbie. These events are 'fun' to do, and it is also great to know that you can do them. Running internationally is also a great reason for going abroad.
Gotta love Robbie, we get to a certain age sometimes and think ah well thats my lot , been there done that, but not robbie. I admire his sense of adventure and love of life. Just a top man 👍
Amazing Robbie you're an inspiration. I'm off on my own adventure cycling from London to Norwich tomorrow, about 200km with the route I've done. I'm Norwich based so let me know if you fancy a run some day.
Well done Robbie! Next time you do a marathon you should check if they have a pasta party before it. We went to the one in Amsterdam and was really fun and plenty carb loading
Well done mate, Lisbon is a hard course. I did it in 2016 and the heat nearly killed me, id recommend avoiding Stockholm for this reason. It's in June and far too hot, think it was 36 degrees! Spring PB races, if you can fit enough training in time id recommend Seville in Feb, Barca in March or Vienna in April. Well done again
Well done Robbie for someone who describes themselves as rank most of the time completing multiple marathons is very impressive! Would be v interesting to hear how you personally train for them!
It's all lovely and there's so much cheap accommodation. We stayed in Alfama which was lovely but full of tourists (like us). It's very hilly so make sure you don't stay somewhere that will knacker your legs before the race!
Would you do an Ironman, Robbie? I’ve only just started running and the furthest I’ve gone so far is 12km but I think I could finish a half marathon without any training, maybe 3 months worth of training and eating well to finish a full one? Any in the UK you would recommend for a first marathon? I live in Birmingham so any close?
A little bit of information and clarification about the starting times, the organisation was forced by the "proteção civil" to change to 1 hour early in a final meeting during that day. I'm not saying that the organisation is perfect, far from it...
I'd say it's entirely possible. I'd start with the NHS couch to 5k programme that takes 9 weeks, then do a 16 week beginners marathon training schedule. When I did my first marathon I struggled to do 5k at the start so it's doable, you just really need to stick to the training.
I’m hoping to do my 1st Half in the spring, idea of doing a Full terrifies me. Massive respect Robbie
You'll smash it! Just stick to a training plan and it'll be fine.
Great stuff Robbie! You are the sole reason I ever attempted a marathon and will be doing my second in two weeks. Hope to see you at a race someday.
Awesome! Which one are you doing?
@@RobbieKnox Frankfurt. In hindsight Lisbon was probably the better option. It’s far too cold to still be training.
Well done Robbie.

Yeah, it’s just a great excuse to travel!
Well done! Was nice to bump into you on pink st!!
Great to meet you pal!
You’ve inspired me and I’ve signed up for this years as my first marathon!
Well done chief! Could never dream of completing a marathon!
Neither could Stevie.
Hi Robbie, I really the style of your videos and your natural narration, keep up the good work
Aw, thanks, that's really kind.

Thanks pal. I’m just killing time till the sweet release of death.
@@RobbieKnoxahhh, that line's no longer at the foot of your vid descriptions😮💨
Doing the Lisbon Marathon in a just over a weeks time. Great video Robbie 👍🏽.
Good luck! It’s a great course!
looking forward to the new content! I'm starting a fitness and nutrition journey myself so ill do it along side
Awesome. We can become hot together.
Would love to see more running content from you - great stuff
Deal. Just need to find a marathon to sign up for!
Good effort in that heat!! drove past everyone gathering on the bridge on my way to a job. Absolute scenes
Congrats. Great time in the heat. Glad to see you had the energy for the apres beverages.

That's awesome! How long will that take you?
Jack bloody smashed his prediction for time on the pod
Nailed it didn’t he?
Lisbon looks lovely! I have Lisbon on the travel bucket list but will have to add Cascais too it looks fab!
Well done Robbie 💪
ive done a few halfs. the idea of a full one scares the shit out of me XD
It’s rank, but if you follow a training programme you could do it. I won’t pretend it’ll be fun though!
Congrats Robbie! That PB is getting smashed in spring 🍻
Well done Robbie! Next time you do a marathon you should check if they have a pasta party before it. We went to the one in Amsterdam and was really fun and plenty carb loading
I’ve never done the pasta party. Might try it next time!
Keep the content coming Robbie!
Ah brilliant review. I also did this marathon. Best course route i ever done and i didnt feel the miles going
Yeah, I loved the course so much. Couldn’t believe how the miles ticked by!
I knew I saw you out there last week. Well done bud
Thanks pal!
love it from you, cracking video 👏👏
Cheers Leo!
Awesome Robbie. Just did my first half marathon yesterday at Oxford Half. I feel fucked, no idea if I could do a full marathon.
Amazing Marcus, well done! I’m sure you could if you trained for it.
@@RobbieKnox Cheers Robbie! Perhaps one day - I’ll definitely be doing another half though. Looking forward to seeing you run your next event!
I was there! (just watching not running sadly) well done for getting through it in that heat 🥵
Nice one Robbie son, great achievement
Lisbon marathon runner too and that time change was pure chaos 😂
Madness wasn’t it? 😂
So strange running around panicked for the train before dawn
This was prime robbie content
Thanks El.
👏 Well done for finishing in that heat. The organisation seems abit of a shambles...
having watched the 'organisation' of La Vuelta a España this year I'm not surprised their Iberian neighbours aren't too clever either...
Very impressive Robbie 👏

Amazing work Robbie
Well done Robbie 🎉
well done robbie :)
I ran the marathon too but didn’t see the start time change email until 5:30am! No breakfast and started alone and in the dark, absolute shambles
That must have been so stressful! How did it go for you?
Just a bit haha. Enjoyed it overall because what a beautiful route and managed 3:33 which is a PB, should probably not eat breakfast again next time!
Wish I had an excuse to start carb loading
Honestly, it’s the best part.
My friend from work also ran it! That's awesome
Hope he enjoyed it!
@@RobbieKnox he did up until the 2 1/2 hour mark the walked the rest apparently but he said everything that you said about it
Would love to run international marathons like this one day, well done mate!
You should! I much prefer it to doing one in the UK, I like the adventure of it all.
congratulations 🏃
Well done Robbie! I’m hoping to do the half in Lisbon in March next year, any particular recommendations for places to stay/visit?
It's all lovely and there's so much cheap accommodation. We stayed in Alfama which was lovely but full of tourists (like us). It's very hilly so make sure you don't stay somewhere that will knacker your legs before the race!
Cheers for the message via my brother at 8k or so Robbie, hope the bleeding nipples weren't too bad! Fancy doing Berlin?
Ha ha! That was so funny. Yeah, I'd love to do Berlin.
The carb loading reminds me of Micheal Scott before his race 😂
Similar athletes!
Legend 💙

Portugal looks lush
It's such a great place.
"Because they're pussies!" haha you legend
Thanks pal!
Hi Robbie. Where do you get your plans from?
This time round I used my Garmin watch’s plan, but before I’ve used Hal Higdon plans.
Well done kid.
Drinking before a half marathon is wild
Another level of athleticism!
Any ideas on a good spring marathon to do, Robbie?
Maybe Barcelona.
@@RobbieKnoxhave you heard about the inaugural new marathon starting next Spring? "The Norfolk Marathon" starting & finishing in Cromer on 28th April
Hot marathons are never fun
Well done Robbie ❤
'Hot' a bit redundant there...
(but agreed regarding _any_ running in high temps never mind long distance)
A little bit of information and clarification about the starting times, the organisation was forced by the "proteção civil" to change to 1 hour early in a final meeting during that day. I'm not saying that the organisation is perfect, far from it...
Ah, that’s interesting. I wonder why it was left so late? Totally agree it was the right thing to do, just very late in the day!
That's terrible changing cut-off last minute
Watching this after completing the great south run today. I can't imagine doing a marathon in that heat 😂. Give me 8-12 degrees please!
Same!!

Also did you finish in front of the pineapple man?
I had some but they fell off. Need better ones next time!
