Great video! I was stage 2b and after a colon resection and 8 rounds of oral chemo I am now cancer free. The last part about family is very important! I did watch all of your previous videos, and they did help a lot when I was going through treatment. Thanks
Thank you so much! I’ve been watching and sharing your videos since my stage 4B colon cancer diagnosis 18 months ago. You are so cute, professional, and informative!
Hi Jelena, This is a really wonderful, helpful and informative video. I can always empathize with your experiences as I have been going through similar experiences. I admire you for your positiive approach and for being such a brilliant advocate for patients. Thanks very much. p.s. I like your hairstyle. It really suits you. 🙂
Hi! I’m doing pretty well. Bowel movements are still a struggle some days. I’m on a mix of medications to help improve them and my overall quality of life. The next video that I’ll release will talk more about them.
@@SurvivorJelena- Thank You I have Stage 3 Colorectal Cancer it was diagnosed 5/2022 & started Radiation, then Chemo and in 3/2023 I had surgery. I had a temporary illiostomy (10 weeks) unfortunately they didn't get all the cancer. It has now been 1 1/2 years after the colorectal surgery and Im still having a difficult time with bowel movements. I am using medications to help with normalizing the BM's but still really isn't helping. I go back to my oncologist next Tuesday. I work and really have a hard time working my full shift when I am always having "bathroom" issues. I'm going to see about working from home so I'm close to the restroom.
@@lisal2245I was diagnosed with Stage 3c rectal sigmoid cancer a few years ago. Based on my experience and from what I’ve read, it seems the vast majority of colorectal cancer survivors have long term BM issues. I think if you get radiation, especially if you have rectal cancer, long term BM side effects are almost certain. For some patients it improves over time. But for most it’s a lifetime issue. I take two Imodium tablets about 6- 8 hours apart, every day. Eating soluble fiber can help or taking a fiber supplement. Even so, I still have 6-8 BM’s per day.
Thank you for sharing you journey. Love your top. Prayers My chemo starts in 4 days.
