As an adhder, i listened to book 1 yesterday and book 2 today. I absolutely love these and the fact I can listen, get a dopermine hit and all while cleaning is truly...magic. Xxx

Like the other people said, great book series. I love the stories. This 60+ yr. Old is finding the child like wonder, imagination, creative visualisation as I did when I was 10. Keep up the great work! Hope you write many more such stories.🙂

Because of an illness, I am unable to read or watch television. I subscribe to the Chicago Public Library and use a few apps and I have access to a plethora of Audiobooks for free. It has saved my sanity and prevents boredom. You can also google books to “read online free” and have google read you each page.
I made the mistake of starting to listen to this before bed. I can't stop listening to this novel now. The story is so gripping! Thank you so much for providing us with the sequel so soon after the 1st book ♡
Very much enjoying this series and the development of the characters. A mug of tea, some candles burning and staying up past my bedtime listening to your captivating mystery. 💗

Loved this even more than the first. I really enjoyed learning about Amber's past and seeing her interact with her family more. I'm also excited to see her interact with Connor more, since I really enjoyed their chemistry in the first book! :)
I just finished book one earlier today, and I'm already three hours into book two. Your writing is phenomenal, I find myself "oohing" and "aahhing" out loud as well as laughing and being close to tears from time to time. I love the reader as well, how she really gives every character their distinct accent and how she's able to convey emotion.
Second this comment. Fantastic writer and equally terrific narrator. Very frustrating Amazon won’t allow me to follow a narrator, but I did follow Melissa Erin Jackson.

Same here, I have really bad eye sight & when I read anything for longer than a minute I get really bad headache (even with my bifocal glasses). And I love reading so much, but having a great book on audio really makes me happy & thankful to folks like @Melissa Erin Jackson that care enough to put her wonderful work on UA-cam audio for free for us!
I also want to add that these have been a safe escape from anxiety attacks. I know I'm not going to hear something upsetting. I listed to the first one over 2 times. It's great to just put on. Thank you so much for this accidental(?) mental health support.

Such a great and fun read. I liked the first but this is better. More back story of characters artfully revealed. More spells, curses, witch craft instilled and weaved into a bewitching story all read/narrated perfectly.

I approve of the way Melissa handles the topic of magical memory modification. Certain morally challenged authors, like J.K. Rowling, were not able to handle it appropriately.

I love love love these stories! They really help me through hard times. I like to imagine Melissa being Amber and telling stories about her secret life !
This is even better than the first book, style wise. Less repetitive character descriptions for example. I was skeptical about the whole „dark dangerous back story trope" but that was more because I’d seen it before so many times and mostly getting out of hand but this book has the potential to redeem the whole concept. I’m so in love with the wholesome setting, the cats, the cute neighbours and Amber‘s shop and flat and none of those get corrupted as a cheap trick in order to make things more dark and mysterious.
Thank you! I had a reader tell me when this book first came out that she sees it as an "edgy cozy," which I thought was a good description. I have been really enjoying these books, and am so appreciative of the author posting them for free no less! I have PTSD from a fire, and the description of how triggering the smell of smoke is was spot on. I actually had a hard time with the fire scenes, but that's just me and my trauma. It was such a small fraction of the book it absolutely didn't detract from the overall enjoyment. It's a testament to realism. The sounds and smells of a fire like that are haunting. It made the character's losses extremely relatable to me. We are in the long process of cleanup and rebuild ourselves.
So sorry to hear about the fire! I have a family member who went through a traumatic fire experience, too. I wish you luck on the cleanup and rebuild. And I'm happy to hear you enjoyed the book (even if the subject matter was difficult at times)!

This one was even better than the first! I suppose that's because it puts greater focus on the witch content than the whodunnit crime content. I always liked witch stories.

I have been really enjoying these books, and am so appreciative of the author posting them for free no less!
I have PTSD from a fire, and the description of how triggering the smell of smoke is was spot on. I actually had a hard time with the fire scenes, but that's just me and my trauma. It was such a small fraction of the book it absolutely didn't detract from the overall enjoyment. It's a testament to realism. The sounds and smells of a fire like that are haunting. It made the character's losses extremely relatable to me. We are in the long process of cleanup and rebuild ourselves.
So sorry to hear about the fire! I have a family member who went through a traumatic fire experience, too. I wish you luck on the cleanup and rebuild. And I'm happy to hear you enjoyed the book (even if the subject matter was difficult at times)!

This one was even better than the first! I suppose that's because it puts greater focus on the witch content than the whodunnit crime content. I always liked witch stories.

@@melissaerinjackson7207 Witches definitely offer a lot of scope when it comes to writing adventures and interpersonal stuff. I currently think that hapless witches like Amber are the best of all. I wonder how she'd react at the end if someone asked her, "by the way, how's your love life?" It's great how the story has made me think.

These REALLY are genius. It's a mix of Stephanie Plum, with that witch on the movie (James Stewart, and the pretty blond Kim Novac ) Bedazzled.
