Have to say, I really appreciate everything you guys do here. You are one of the awesome learning resources of this sport. I've used your tutorials and advice since I started back in the summer. I've caught fish here in the AZ desert but still looking to land my first trout which I feel is the golden standard. Have to say, presentation has been a challenge despite all my casting practice in the yard, lol.
This has to be your greatest vid so far Spencer!! I haven't tied a wing case on a pheasant tail nymph in over 2o years ,no one can convince me other wise the wing case is necessary lol😂😂
Real early! Here at 5 minutes. I am gonna try to move out of my comfort zone this year and try to fly fish this spring even though there are snakes around. My fear of snakes is damn near a phobia and I usually wait to fly fish when its cold because snakes are asleep. But I will overcome this fear and I will try to get more into fly fishing. Thank you for the videos as everything has been useful for someone who is a beginner. Happy 2025
For the next podcast could you give us the full breakdown of the atracter fly patterns I am from the UK nere Wakefield and on my small river there isn't much bug activity apart from very good mige hatches ( we are in winter at the moment ) but I haven't been fly fishing before I am trying to get some gear keep up the good work from James .
I have a question my name is Collin . I live in Idaho and I’ve been fishing silver creek a lot and every time I go I get skunked it’s such a hard river. My casting is perfect but no matter what I do I can’t hook anything what should I do to if I want to get a fish in the net also how do I read that river and what flys do i use if I want to be successful. I fish rivers like the big wood and the big lost and always hook fish but I can’t read silver creek or figure out the fish there. I’ve tried leaches streamers nymphs but nothing works I hope you guys can give me some advice to be more successful there
I have to confess... lot of times Im agresively dragging my dry flies to make line of ripples and its what triggers the fish to strike much more than letting it sit in one place passive :D rules are to be broken

I just started tying flies, kept thinking is this really necessary? Glad I’m not alone 😂
Really enjoyed this episode! The discussion of “rules” applies to my fishing at Lake Mead.

But does netting have an impact on removing slime from the fish? And the type of net?
Can't seem to find any of the "VFC flies" on the website to grab? (Demon Midge, Egg Bomber, Scud Muffin) Are you guys selling these flies?
Coming soon! We’ve been working on an entire new fly catalog. Hoping to have them ready to rumble this summer.
