Legacy of Goku 2 is legit in my top 5 video games of all time. It's amazing how much it improved from Legacy of Goku 1. I really wish after Buu's Fury, that they had gone back and remade the 1st game like the latter two. Can you imagine being able to go between Namek and Earth like you could in Buu's Fury between the Other World and Earth? Flying around Namek? Playing as the other Z fighters in the Saiyan and Namek arcs? So much potential there. The 5 playable characters could have been Goku, Gohan, Piccolo, Krillin and Vegeta. Would have been amazing. They could have even added some movie villain cameos like the other two did, like Garlic Jr., Dr. Wheelo, Turles, Lord Slug, etc.
I had no idea how to progress and ended up max level before getting to vegeta and nappa just grinding on squirrels and wolves. I had no idea how to video game lol
YES! After training with King Kai, that frozen area above the city that you need to travel through to get to the battle with Nappa & Vegeta is where that T-Rex is walking around on the ice. I spent HOURS beating it over and over again until I was level 25 and the rest of the game was EASY! Well, easier... I even figured out a strategy to beating Jeice, Recoome & Burter; I'd talk to each of them back to back to back so all of them would attack me at the same time. I'd trap them on the patch of land @15:12 and run away. As they would follow me down that line to get back to the ground, they could only do it one at a time in a line. I'd spam Kamehameha Waves and hit them ALL at the same time until they fainted! Another trick would be the Solar Flare/punch combo if I got all 3 of them to stand over top of each other so they all got damaged by the same hit! Look, the game looking back was TRASH but it was a lot of fun back in the day! For as bad as this game was, it only made Legacy Of Goku II that much better!
@@Eric-gp3hi I don't know about OG Dragonball or Daima, but GT would be kind of fun to try out in that style. Though they'd have to probably figure out some differences between Super and GT and explain a few things like why Goku would stop using God Ki in GT's storyline.
I loved the intro to game. Just shots from the anime with the music playing was great. Then we get the game, and it is what you explained in the video.

Legacy of goku 1 is probably the worst game in dragon ball gaming history.the jump between legacy of goku 1 to 2 was probably the most massive jump in game quality even more than the jump to xenoverse 1 to 2 or tenkaichi 1 to 2.

I’m a younger fan, I’m 22 as of this year but I’ve been a db fan since i was 6 and a huge one at that. I never played this series til 2 years ago i beat every game, and controversialy I love buu’s fury the most. Best level up system, so show accurate love the game. That being said I absolutely adore the 2nd game as well. The first one… not it chief, the first one is kinda bad imo, beat them all tho.

I'm working on an RPG Maker version (Turn-based JRPG) of original Dragon Ball; I'm currently at the tail-end of the original series. I'd *love* to remake LOG1; if I had the modding know-how, I'd do a total conversion in the LOG2 or Buu's Fury engine.
This game...I played this in my childhood. I LOVED it. I was ecstatic to finally play it. It was a goal to finish it. Though i will say, I was VERY upset, frustrated and, almost threw it. The fox, could kill me?! Goku? Just..what? This was so frustrating because I was wanting to complete it. I wanted to fight frieza and become a super...saiyan ..dammit. lol but no, the foxes were enough to kill me. Pain in ass. Very nostalgic though. I found it very fun. I eventually finished it but oh that was a task. The solar flare . Yes.
My brother when he got arrested sort of gave me all of his gba and ps1 games. He had Legacy of Goku I and II. Of course my favorite is II, but I still scratch my head how I was such a night and day difference. If you remember, 2 had a documentary done by Christopher Sabat and it was clear they were huge fans of the show at webfoot, so it makes the difference more jarring. And Buu’s Fury? Well, it is not as good as 2, but it is still leagues better then 1 lol. It is rare for a game trilogy to get generally better overtime, since the pop culture zeitgeist assumes it is the opposite. IE: Everyone loves Terminator 1 and 2, we do not talk about 3. Or movies beyond it. Anyway, it was a great first try for something that would become the two best games after, I will give it a pass as an unusual quirk of game design history 😂 Edit: Also I am 26, my brother is 41 now.
Why LOG2 over Buu's Fury? I got both as a kid and remember Buu's Fury being even further refined in terms of gameplay mechanics. LOG1 was cool for its time as a kids game. We had a lot of crappy GB and GBA games back then lol. I kinda liked how LOG1 didn't just follow the manga/anime story.

Yes, Buu’s Fury generally had more well rounded gameplay, like in every category. But it was a bit too easy. I think now I am trying to make my own games, I look at both with reverence. If I can say something Buu’s Fury did better, it was the general gameplay and side content. There was a lot more added then in LOG 2. And I can always go back to both. Also, I did get that one from my brother. One of his idiosyncrasies I sort of inherited was that he spent his time grinding the first level with just Goku. I think I was like, Level 110 when I finally left that level when you only need to be 60. Does that impact my point? Yeah, I admit it does. Having a super power goku, even in the end game where the Buu’s fights took 30 seconds with Goku and like 3 with Vegeta, it showed 😂
Legacy of Goku Trilogy does look fun for GBA standards, but I think I'd still prefer Kakarot since it has more of the cast and covers as far as the Golden Frieza arc, along with some extras like the pre-Z Piccolo Jr. arc and the History of Trunks arc, both are a treat too.
I'm always down to co op again... unfortunately I can't afford to pay at the moment but I had a lot of fun working with you... I do wanna play some of these old DB games too

Even at 9 years old, I thought this game was terrible, mostly because I was already spoiled by log2, buus fury, the gt beat em up, etc. I Even enjoyed taiketsu more than this game, but outside of the art style and animations, that game wasn't that bad.

This game was shit mechanically, but it got this early DBZ atmosphere down to perfection, mostly thanks to the music I'd say. Still not by any means my first DBZ game, that would be Super Saiya Densetsu. A much better game BTW, you should totally cover it sometime too.
See I beat the game by using a glitch involving flight. If you fly and get hit by a key blast, the game will glitch and you will return to walking, but the CPU will still think your flying so you can fight everyone without them being able to hit you. Got to level 25 this way and never looked back lol. Try it out

LoG is the biggest pile of trash mechanically, lots of glitches, but still a ton of fun, and something I return to every couple of years, I love grindfest games Monster Hunter being my favorite
