" This change makes Hornet II much worse than previously discussed.

Hornet's aircraft sank the seaplane tender Akitsushima in the Philippines, light cruiser Noshiro at Leyte, light cruiser Kashii in Indochina, the IJA Escort Carrier Yamashio Maru in the Ryuukyuus, and I believe was credited with the hits that sank the light cruiser Yahagi escorting Yamato on their final sortie as well.
Historically for hornet all I can find is that she put a lot of munition into light cruisers like yahagi, kiso, and noshiro, and sank the escort carriers yamashio, hiyo, and akitsushima But she also hit zuikaku hard, sank CA's kumano and nachi, sank the DD satsuki, and put at least one torp into Yamato, and was an absolute menace to anything that flew, so I don't get her first skill I love this game because every event makes me want to do WW2 and WW1 naval research, lol.
"The ship that Northampton reminds me of stat-wise is Baltimore" Which is actually fitting, considering the Oregon City-Class IRL were the successors to the Baltimore-Class.

First off, thanks as always for the datamine. As my fav faction is the Eagle Union, I'm more than hyped for this event. I just picked up CV-12 Hornet, CA-125/CLC-1 Northampton and CV-10 Yorktown in just 35 pulls! I instantly love them 3. Tho I gotta say: I was a bit confused at first, as both Hornet II AND Yorktown II share the same 04:25:00 build timer. Which makes sense, as they are both Essex-class sisters. I still was 'disappointed' when I hit the buildtimer the first time at pull #14 and got Hornet instead of Yorktown. But 21 pulls later at #35 I got my Yorktown. So heads up my fellow SKKs: Yorktown II has the same 04:25:00 build timer as Hornet II and her fellow Essex-class sisters. So the only way to tell for sure if you'll get Yorktown II, is for the recieve animation video to play
I think you misread Yorktown's third skill slightly. She doesn't buff Essex, but all Essex class ships in the fleet but her. Meaning you can run her with Bunker Hill and Enterprise and have one of the hardest hitting Carrier lines in the game between Bunker Hill's nuke (which will also get the 10% damage buff from the 3rd skill) and Enty's double damage chance.
Another funny thing I noticed ingame is that Hammann II's yellow skill says that it does not stack with specifically Hammann's flagship cover skill, while the airstrike damage boost just has the normal air raid assistance disclaimer.
@Azur Lane Meta I think the point he was making was that you only mentioned Essex, Interprid, and Hornet II when talking about carriers she buffed. This originally felt like you were ignoring the other strong carriers who could benefit from the buff. Eagle Union has *a lot* of airstrike spam carriers, and a fleet with Yorktown II, Bunker Hill, Enterprise, Baltimore, and Kazagumo might be the single most powerful carrier fleet in the game to date-- and that's without Helena.
yorktown II 2nd skill is actually pretty easy to achieve since most likely you will run her win helena and anchorage/baltimore then just slap a kazugumo to proc shinano's avi buff 3 ijn requirement with hakuryu a UR carrier fleet
20:35 Don't you mean she will ALWAYS buff herself, her airstrike is bound to land within that 8 seconds, I have never seen one take more then 3 seconds to land after being launched. Airstrike damage is calculated when the bombs/torps hit the target and not the second it is launched right?
For someone like me who enjoys using faction fleets, Yorktown II is an absolute win. It's just a pity that Intrepid will most likely no longer be part of my OpSi carrier fleet. As for Hornet II, it looks like she won't be part of my fleets. If the first ability was CVL/CV, she would definitely had been an option for my anti-CV/torp fleet. Northampton II will be part of the carrier fleet. She will most likely replace Reno, but with all the carrier synergies in the EU, it's really difficult to decide which character should be part of the vanguard of the carrier fleet. Hammann II isn't making it any easier as she will now be battling for one of the three spots with Baltimore, Stephen Potter, Reno and Northampton II. Langley II gets a comfortable job at the port.
For pure USS fleet, Anchorage, Stephen Potter, and Helena. If Northampton II can survive then Anchorage over her. The slow is nice but Anchorage will always be better tank. Stephan gives that Tanking boost though that might actually amp up Northampton good enough to take over. Either way Helena our buffs every other option

I am excited for this event. I will definitely use Yorktown II. I like her first two skills a lot. Her last skill is a bit annoying as there are so many other skills that could have been beneficial for the USS ships rather than just her sisters, but I'll work with it. And Hammann II is probably the greatest utility destroyer in the game now. The real trick will be keeping her alive.
Funny thing about Hammann II's flagship cover is that it says that the flagship cover portion of the skill does not stack with specifically Hammann's flagship cover skill. Really impractical to do so though because pretty much all the flagship cover ships are either not good at all or are pretty good other than their subpar surface damage.
Her last skill is amazing if you consider Enty is still top meta in a lot of comps and she basically gave Enty a 20% damage boost. As well as herself a 10% damage boost. Enty is already powerful and now she’s that much stronger.
Can you do an up to date video guides for new players. Which ship to level, retire, break though etc as well as avoiding common mistakes etc. I'm a new player and struggling with some areas. Recently got yorktown 2 and Northampton 2 plus various other ships.
I'm thinking of Running a fleet of Enty, Shinano, Yorktown II, Azuma, Kazugomo, and Northampton II myself latter. You get a slow, good airstrike damage buffs, and everyone benefits in the team comp
One aspect (besides lore) is we've got another decent W12/13 comp to help push people into W14 (after the attelier rize collab gave a decent box set for a mobbing fleet, you can get a good start on a USS CV boss fleet here, and toss in enterprise and helena, and pure USS boss fleet that has quite a few skills good for dealing with enemy place presence/decent AA). How well it would cope with all of W13 I'm not sure without testing, but that fleet would stomp the bosses in W12 fairly easily (and Atelier fleet can deal with the mobbing just fine too). It's interesting we're starting to see more synergy WITHIN banner's compared to what it used to be (not sure precisely when it started, but first big example i can thing of is the old IB ships with emden, seydlitz, etc havign the psuedo mini faction buffs, etc)
For PvE I was hoping that Yorktown II would have a slow, to replace AvP/Ark Royal in a fleet with Hakuryuu/Shinano. While she doesn’t have it, I wonder if Northampton II is a good enough support ship to make the triple UR CV fleet work with massed converging torpedos.

So what's the new meta gonna be? AFAIK it was currently Shinano, Hakuryuu and Ark Royal in the back, with Agir, Kazagumo and Helena in the front. So are we now swapping Ark for Yorktown 2 and Agir for Anchorage?
No you will have completely separate fleets based on the enemy armor type. For Heavy armor you play what you said. For Light armor, you'll build around Yorktown.
You have no idea how AA reduction works in this game right? Enemy AA reduction is a MASSIVE bonus to damage. On typical PvE bosses the 10% carrier AA reduction from behind hidden usually equates to about a 50% damage bonus. Yorktown giving a 6% AA reduction to a boss is like a 30% damage boost to your entire CA fleet. That’s absolutely wild. You’re severely misunderstanding that skill

I didn't build and level a Flying Pancake to +13 for Aquila, only to see a cool new fighter and be worried, nope. "And you can't underestimate the power to rehide yourself" immediately before reading restealth skill. Can't beat that comedic timing.
So wait. Correct me if I'm wrong. You said Yorktown is locked in as a fighter-based carrier, right? Yet looking at the info, her 3rd slot is a flex slot, with 120, 135, and 135% efficiencies on her slots. And her main load-out is 2 fighters, 4 dive bombers, and 3 of either fighters, DBs, or TBs. Now I know I went to a small town high school and our math is complete shit, but..... wouldn't that make her a dive-bomber focused carrier given she could just load DBs in the third slot and run 2 fighters and 7 DBs?
I just meant that all the other rainbow rarity carriers have the option to drop their fighter for more surface dps planes. Yorktown doesn't have that option and is "locked" into using at least 2 fighters.
@@AzurLaneMeta ahh. I see now. Well, it does make sense. The USN historically always had more fighters on its Essex-class than attack planes. Towards the mid to late stages of the war, they started to regularly run fighter sweeps to clear IJN and IJA planes from the skies over targets so the DBs and/or TBs had an easier shot at theit targets.
Pretty much every single time a skill like this pops up, unless stated otherwise, the ship holding the skill counts for the fleet count. So yeah you only need another 2 USS ships aside from Yorktown II to proc it.
Yorktown’s class restrictions and their choice of making her a ur makes me wonder if they aren’t planning on releasing Midway in the game’s lifetime. It would be weird and an oversight in my opinion if that’s not the case.
Ayo I see where you put that magnifying glass Laffey 2 is up there with the Johnston in terms of utter madlads of WW2. "Ship literally too angry to die" kinda deserves her own event as a UR so I see why she wasn't released. And Johnston better be a UR for charging the entire IJN by herself, alone and so angry that kurita thought she was a heavy cruiser.
Yeah, I'm very glad I'll have 13 maintenence compensations saved up, I really want to grind like 6 HVARs, they'll come in really handy in OpSi against light armor arbiters or Siren bosses, plus it's a US aircraft, I can't resist. I'm just abit dissapointed that the UR wasn't AU-1, a Corsair with HVARs and either bombs or Tiny Tims. She could have been the same as Skyraider as a dive bomber, but she could have been an interesting fighter with Tiny Tims, I imagine having great modifiers against light armor, and respectable against heavy with Tiny Tims doing good work on heavier boats. Definitely looking forward to throwing together a USS fleet or more for OpSi, it seems I tried tp do an EU only run way too early. Would still be nice to get a healer, I'm very focused on using one main mob fleet that is practically invincible outside of harder bosses, but im definitely bring more USS ships into my OpSi fleet.
@@AzurLaneMeta Yeah, it does work, but it wasn't enough heals for me, I'm lazy and like to not use health boxes if I can, so I gave up. Definitely alot better today, especially with how many Essex we have for York to buff, Independace also being a good choice. The only thing we'd need is another Iowa to pair with NJ and Georgia, and I'd absolutely love a healer. Something now quite as strong as Perseus, but I had the idea that Kearsarge or one of the new BBVs coming to WoWs could be a part healer, proving a decent heal on airstrikes, without a preload.
@@AzurLaneMeta Northampton's gurrentee slow, completely overpowering agir for starters. And then you completely underestimating York 2's damage capabilities (which really didn't aged well considering the showcases popping up now). Don't know about hornet tho, she's just an upgrade Ticonderoga.
I hate light armor bosses! And I love carriers. This event is heaven for me. Also, 4 of the fighters is not enough, get at least 6, that way you can run the Centaur/Aquila/Indomitable anti-light armor meme fleet.
Well, people who don't like generalist URs should be happy, decent UR but clearly best when used in a specific comp, doing a specific niche. Not a super high priority for me so don't have to worry about my pulls too much. Farmable rocket planes are the real pull here
Because of the unlimited colors, you are never gonna run out of pickaxes to mine in the mines. Also, the art are very yummy and im curious about ships vs zombies minigame
Pulled everything + a sub I was missing in a bit less than 200 cubes, already got yorktown to lvl 115 max limit break and max enhanced + her new skin. Still profoundly disappointed in no Ryuuho L2D.

I understand that 6% FP is good for New Jersey but doesn’t ijn Nagato give 10% FP so technically ijn Musashi still will do more damage then New Jersey and Nagato still pretty good to use cause of Nagato first skill that can give big buff for a ijn fleet even more for ijn UR.
Yes but York II gives the buff without being in the party. If Nagato gives muasashi the buff then they have to share the party. And then you’re using Musashi instead of Hirykuu or Shinano which is a big ?? Considering they get straight damage buff from Nagato. And if you use arm IJN BB you’re only got 2 strong options, and then a bunch of mid ones (Kii, Tosa, Izumo)
@@jolunrohthocoudis526 Buddy I don’t see the problem you don’t need two ur carriers; Shinano and hakuryuu can still out damage York II and Nagato can give a buff of 20% increase DMG to carriers which makes them even more OP this is good enough to only have one UR carrier in fleet with Musashi; Nagato can also give buff for all Sakura ship Vanguard fleet and Maine fleet for 10% FP and RLD and Accuracy for 20% this can be a massive boost for for Musashi, Shimakaze ,Azuma with Fate Simulation and Yuudachi (Retrofit) this is also good for good ijn Super rare ship again I do not see way you will need two ur carriers Shinano also buff DD with FP,EVA and ASW for 15% so you don’t have to worry about your ijn dd dying to quickly even more for Yuudachi who has her own puff of 5% evasion and decrease damage taken by 15% so your good with that fleet for the rest of the endgame.
@@dark-blossom7000 I mean if you’re running an lol faction fleet sure what ever, but the EU still has you beat because Helena is the best buffer in the game. If you’re saying ‘Musashi does more damage than NJ because of Nagato’ then you’re running Musashi at the cost of Shinano or Hakuryuu which which together with Nagato’s buff and Kazagumo will almost always outdamage Musashi and will have better synergy for it. My comment was you were unfairly applying an infleet buff to an out of fleet buff. Yorktown Gives EU fleets an entire 6% full FP boost and they don’t even have to be in that party. This allows for a lot of great fleet comps. On top with NJ, Independence, and York II it just shows EU have the best cross faction fleet buffs.

But it’s useful for operation sirens not sure for other.

So...there are so many things wrong about yorktown in my opinion that I gonna have to comment some. first,like one comment below said,6% AA reduction is a MASSIVE Debuff,not just ehh lvl utility. Second,Self cloke is the most powerful buff a CV can recive outside of helena scan,and the fact that yorktown can recover that buff in mid battle is absolutely insane.NO other carriers can do that. And third,you commented about how yorktwon's locked into fighters but forgetting that rocket fighters are now a thing.Not only that,with how her skill works,you can now FREELY adjust US fleet reload timing to fit either to clear mob or focus on bosses without having to resort to shitty planes,fleet tech points and god damn cats. Another youtubers already tested her out in a test fight and she and haku/shina combo slaughtered hermit with three airstrikes WITHOUT slow support.Said youtuber also calculated that she will out damage both haku and shina individually in both ligth and medum bosses,only losing aganist heavy. She is definitely not as niche as you made her out to be.
No hype but I welcome all new kansens and gear nonetheless. As always it's good to see that stats and skills reflect their IRL service history, specs like Northamptons II high AA stat or Yorktown II's Essex CV's buff.
Pine for New York herself (BB-34) like I do as she has the track records to back up her flagship status (the second half of the Great War). Better defenses for your front escort ships (DDs and cruisers) and faster BB reload rates? Bring it!
I don't know how i feel toward this event ships but as someone who've got all the existing ships, basing on theocrafting it seems like i will probably just add Yorktown in my rarely used 4th OpsSpe fleet outside monthly hard boss for OffFleet barrage but even that is negligible 6% more fp for NJ while the later give 15% avi and better OffFleet barrage. Yorktown II is around Shinano tier in damage but with a more restricted choice of mates, she could have been so much better if they made her buff EU wide and not just class restricted, Independence retrofit is still a top pick for a full EU CV/CVL even more now with the new EU Fighter, however she doesn't get buff by Yorktown II. If i have to create a full EU CV/CVL it will probably be Yorktown II/Independence R/ Bunker Hill for damage or Ticonderoga for survivability, however none of the ship currently buff by Yorktown II are impressive enough for this fleet to become meta ( Enterprise lack constancy for that ) the day when Enterprise will receive a retrofit or augment which might solves her lack of constancy it wiill be a whole different story. Hammann II is incredible though, she makes up for her lack of surface damage with +1 AA/special ASW - offensive buff for her stronger mates and defensive buff for the flagship, she is this event real SSR in my eyes.
She's basically EUs Shinano tf do you mean? The strongest carrier for Light and Medium. Now people can run more variety than just The Same Shinano Haku set up.
I can’t imagine thinking the third Skill for Yorktown is ‘underwhelming’ you realize it buffs Enterprise right? Enterprise who is still absolutely meta? It’s effectively a 20% damage buff for her, which is ridiculous. Not to mention giving what ever Essex class ship you want another 10%. That’s a really powerful skill considering how Enty has kept up with the Meta with her skill and now Yorktown just makes her that much better, and also considering Essex is still fantastic and we haven’t even gotten a fighter UR yet which would probably raise Essex a whole tier herself

Also if power creep is so bad why do most people use and talk about new jersey so much also if she's not Meta then why wait for a UR ship. Also the only way meta rise works best is if the enemies don't rise in power as well. Other wise all old ships don't become bad but this happened whether we like it or not. Eagle Union has *a lot* of airstrike spam carriers, and a fleet with Yorktown II, Bunker Hill, Enterprise, Baltimore, and Kazagumo might be the single most powerful carrier fleet in the game to date-- and that's without Helena.
USS independence will be dealing a lot of damage against light armor with those F6F HVAR
yorktown II 2nd skill is actually pretty easy to achieve since most likely you will run her win helena and anchorage/baltimore then just slap a kazugumo to proc shinano's avi buff 3 ijn requirement with hakuryu a UR carrier fleet
I mean ya, when these types of skills went down from 4 to 3, it made them A LOT easier to achieve.

Airstrike damage is calculated when the bombs/torps hit the target and not the second it is launched right?
For someone like me who enjoys using faction fleets, Yorktown II is an absolute win. It's just a pity that Intrepid will most likely no longer be part of my OpSi carrier fleet.
As for Hornet II, it looks like she won't be part of my fleets. If the first ability was CVL/CV, she would definitely had been an option for my anti-CV/torp fleet.
Northampton II will be part of the carrier fleet. She will most likely replace Reno, but with all the carrier synergies in the EU, it's really difficult to decide which character should be part of the vanguard of the carrier fleet.
Hammann II isn't making it any easier as she will now be battling for one of the three spots with Baltimore, Stephen Potter, Reno and Northampton II.
Langley II gets a comfortable job at the port.
For pure USS fleet, Anchorage, Stephen Potter, and Helena. If Northampton II can survive then Anchorage over her. The slow is nice but Anchorage will always be better tank. Stephan gives that Tanking boost though that might actually amp up Northampton good enough to take over. Either way Helena our buffs every other option

I am excited for this event. I will definitely use Yorktown II. I like her first two skills a lot. Her last skill is a bit annoying as there are so many other skills that could have been beneficial for the USS ships rather than just her sisters, but I'll work with it. And Hammann II is probably the greatest utility destroyer in the game now. The real trick will be keeping her alive.
They're probably saving a skill like that for Midway. Don't quote me on that it's just a thought
Funny thing about Hammann II's flagship cover is that it says that the flagship cover portion of the skill does not stack with specifically Hammann's flagship cover skill.
Really impractical to do so though because pretty much all the flagship cover ships are either not good at all or are pretty good other than their subpar surface damage.
Her last skill is amazing if you consider Enty is still top meta in a lot of comps and she basically gave Enty a 20% damage boost. As well as herself a 10% damage boost. Enty is already powerful and now she’s that much stronger.

Can you do an up to date video guides for new players. Which ship to level, retire, break though etc as well as avoiding common mistakes etc. I'm a new player and struggling with some areas. Recently got yorktown 2 and Northampton 2 plus various other ships.

I'm thinking of Running a fleet of Enty, Shinano, Yorktown II, Azuma, Kazugomo, and Northampton II myself latter. You get a slow, good airstrike damage buffs, and everyone benefits in the team comp
One aspect (besides lore) is we've got another decent W12/13 comp to help push people into W14 (after the attelier rize collab gave a decent box set for a mobbing fleet, you can get a good start on a USS CV boss fleet here, and toss in enterprise and helena, and pure USS boss fleet that has quite a few skills good for dealing with enemy place presence/decent AA). How well it would cope with all of W13 I'm not sure without testing, but that fleet would stomp the bosses in W12 fairly easily (and Atelier fleet can deal with the mobbing just fine too).
It's interesting we're starting to see more synergy WITHIN banner's compared to what it used to be (not sure precisely when it started, but first big example i can thing of is the old IB ships with emden, seydlitz, etc havign the psuedo mini faction buffs, etc)
For PvE I was hoping that Yorktown II would have a slow, to replace AvP/Ark Royal in a fleet with Hakuryuu/Shinano.
While she doesn’t have it, I wonder if Northampton II is a good enough support ship to make the triple UR CV fleet work with massed converging torpedos.

No you will have completely separate fleets based on the enemy armor type. For Heavy armor you play what you said. For Light armor, you'll build around Yorktown.
You have no idea how AA reduction works in this game right? Enemy AA reduction is a MASSIVE bonus to damage. On typical PvE bosses the 10% carrier AA reduction from behind hidden usually equates to about a 50% damage bonus. Yorktown giving a 6% AA reduction to a boss is like a 30% damage boost to your entire CA fleet. That’s absolutely wild. You’re severely misunderstanding that skill

Yet looking at the info, her 3rd slot is a flex slot, with 120, 135, and 135% efficiencies on her slots. And her main load-out is 2 fighters, 4 dive bombers, and 3 of either fighters, DBs, or TBs. Now I know I went to a small town high school and our math is complete shit, but..... wouldn't that make her a dive-bomber focused carrier given she could just load DBs in the third slot and run 2 fighters and 7 DBs?
I just meant that all the other rainbow rarity carriers have the option to drop their fighter for more surface dps planes. Yorktown doesn't have that option and is "locked" into using at least 2 fighters.
@@AzurLaneMeta ahh. I see now. Well, it does make sense. The USN historically always had more fighters on its Essex-class than attack planes. Towards the mid to late stages of the war, they started to regularly run fighter sweeps to clear IJN and IJA planes from the skies over targets so the DBs and/or TBs had an easier shot at theit targets.

Pretty much every single time a skill like this pops up, unless stated otherwise, the ship holding the skill counts for the fleet count. So yeah you only need another 2 USS ships aside from Yorktown II to proc it.

Hammann II is good but Allen Sumner and Ingraham are leagues better at AA and are tankier / do more damage

Yorktown’s class restrictions and their choice of making her a ur makes me wonder if they aren’t planning on releasing Midway in the game’s lifetime. It would be weird and an oversight in my opinion if that’s not the case.

Laffey 2 is up there with the Johnston in terms of utter madlads of WW2. "Ship literally too angry to die" kinda deserves her own event as a UR so I see why she wasn't released. And Johnston better be a UR for charging the entire IJN by herself, alone and so angry that kurita thought she was a heavy cruiser.

Yeah, I'm very glad I'll have 13 maintenence compensations saved up, I really want to grind like 6 HVARs, they'll come in really handy in OpSi against light armor arbiters or Siren bosses, plus it's a US aircraft, I can't resist.
I'm just abit dissapointed that the UR wasn't AU-1, a Corsair with HVARs and either bombs or Tiny Tims. She could have been the same as Skyraider as a dive bomber, but she could have been an interesting fighter with Tiny Tims, I imagine having great modifiers against light armor, and respectable against heavy with Tiny Tims doing good work on heavier boats.
Definitely looking forward to throwing together a USS fleet or more for OpSi, it seems I tried tp do an EU only run way too early. Would still be nice to get a healer, I'm very focused on using one main mob fleet that is practically invincible outside of harder bosses, but im definitely bring more USS ships into my OpSi fleet.
USS only definitely worked before, but it got a lot better today.
@@AzurLaneMeta Yeah, it does work, but it wasn't enough heals for me, I'm lazy and like to not use health boxes if I can, so I gave up. Definitely alot better today, especially with how many Essex we have for York to buff, Independace also being a good choice.
The only thing we'd need is another Iowa to pair with NJ and Georgia, and I'd absolutely love a healer. Something now quite as strong as Perseus, but I had the idea that Kearsarge or one of the new BBVs coming to WoWs could be a part healer, proving a decent heal on airstrikes, without a preload.

Well, people who don't like generalist URs should be happy, decent UR but clearly best when used in a specific comp, doing a specific niche. Not a super high priority for me so don't have to worry about my pulls too much. Farmable rocket planes are the real pull here

Pulled everything + a sub I was missing in a bit less than 200 cubes, already got yorktown to lvl 115 max limit break and max enhanced + her new skin. Still profoundly disappointed in no Ryuuho L2D.

I understand that 6% FP is good for New Jersey but doesn’t ijn Nagato give 10% FP so technically ijn Musashi still will do more damage then New Jersey and Nagato still pretty good to use cause of Nagato first skill that can give big buff for a ijn fleet even more for ijn UR.
Yes but York II gives the buff without being in the party. If Nagato gives muasashi the buff then they have to share the party. And then you’re using Musashi instead of Hirykuu or Shinano which is a big ?? Considering they get straight damage buff from Nagato. And if you use arm IJN BB you’re only got 2 strong options, and then a bunch of mid ones (Kii, Tosa, Izumo)
@@jolunrohthocoudis526 Buddy I don’t see the problem you don’t need two ur carriers; Shinano and hakuryuu can still out damage York II and Nagato can give a buff of 20% increase DMG to carriers which makes them even more OP this is good enough to only have one UR carrier in fleet with Musashi; Nagato can also give buff for all Sakura ship Vanguard fleet and Maine fleet for 10% FP and RLD and Accuracy for 20% this can be a massive boost for for Musashi, Shimakaze ,Azuma with Fate Simulation and Yuudachi (Retrofit) this is also good for good ijn Super rare ship again I do not see way you will need two ur carriers Shinano also buff DD with FP,EVA and ASW for 15% so you don’t have to worry about your ijn dd dying to quickly even more for Yuudachi who has her own puff of 5% evasion and decrease damage taken by 15% so your good with that fleet for the rest of the endgame.

If you’re saying ‘Musashi does more damage than NJ because of Nagato’ then you’re running Musashi at the cost of Shinano or Hakuryuu which which together with Nagato’s buff and Kazagumo will almost always outdamage Musashi and will have better synergy for it.
My comment was you were unfairly applying an infleet buff to an out of fleet buff. Yorktown Gives EU fleets an entire 6% full FP boost and they don’t even have to be in that party. This allows for a lot of great fleet comps. On top with NJ, Independence, and York II it just shows EU have the best cross faction fleet buffs.

I'm planning a Yorktown II/Hornet II with either Enty (for max survivability) or Essex/Bunker Hill for damage. Then Anka/Northampton II and then maybe Juneau-kai. Or swap out Northampton II for Hammy II? I like stacking airstrike damage
I mean the current PvP meta has few CLs outside Juneau and Harbin.

So...there are so many things wrong about yorktown in my opinion that I gonna have to comment some.
first,like one comment below said,6% AA reduction is a MASSIVE Debuff,not just ehh lvl utility.
Second,Self cloke is the most powerful buff a CV can recive outside of helena scan,and the fact that yorktown can recover that buff in mid battle is absolutely insane.NO other carriers can do that.
And third,you commented about how yorktwon's locked into fighters but forgetting that rocket fighters are now a thing.Not only that,with how her skill works,you can now FREELY adjust US fleet reload timing to fit either to clear mob or focus on bosses without having to resort to shitty planes,fleet tech points and god damn cats.
Another youtubers already tested her out in a test fight and she and haku/shina combo slaughtered hermit with three airstrikes WITHOUT slow support.Said youtuber also calculated that she will out damage both haku and shina individually in both ligth and medum bosses,only losing aganist heavy.
She is definitely not as niche as you made her out to be.
yeah, self cloke is massive, with it she can even come close to shina and haku when facing heavy armor, and completely outdamage them on medium/light

I don't know how i feel toward this event ships but as someone who've got all the existing ships, basing on theocrafting it seems like i will probably just add Yorktown in my rarely used 4th OpsSpe fleet outside monthly hard boss for OffFleet barrage but even that is negligible 6% more fp for NJ while the later give 15% avi and better OffFleet barrage.
Yorktown II is around Shinano tier in damage but with a more restricted choice of mates, she could have been so much better if they made her buff EU wide and not just class restricted, Independence retrofit is still a top pick for a full EU CV/CVL even more now with the new EU Fighter, however she doesn't get buff by Yorktown II. If i have to create a full EU CV/CVL it will probably be Yorktown II/Independence R/ Bunker Hill for damage or Ticonderoga for survivability, however none of the ship currently buff by Yorktown II are impressive enough for this fleet to become meta ( Enterprise lack constancy for that ) the day when Enterprise will receive a retrofit or augment which might solves her lack of constancy it wiill be a whole different story.
Hammann II is incredible though, she makes up for her lack of surface damage with +1 AA/special ASW - offensive buff for her stronger mates and defensive buff for the flagship, she is this event real SSR in my eyes.

It’s effectively a 20% damage buff for her, which is ridiculous. Not to mention giving what ever Essex class ship you want another 10%. That’s a really powerful skill considering how Enty has kept up with the Meta with her skill and now Yorktown just makes her that much better, and also considering Essex is still fantastic and we haven’t even gotten a fighter UR yet which would probably raise Essex a whole tier herself
