He spoke on an American issue and because America was so outwardly racist at the time, it was a big deal and he became a global icon. Same with Kaep. If the reaction was the same reaction they were giving Marshawn Lynch, (which was nothing at all) who actually was SITTING before Kaep, Kaep wouldn't be considered an activist. LeBron has done everything he was supposed to do socially but the reactions aren't the same. He even went after the president and the president didn't respond. But because he didn't speak on China, he aint Ali? It's comical. He's definitely spoken up more than Ali. If we being real, Ali didn't want to go to war and I don't blame him but he made those comments only when he got drafted. The war was going on before that if I'm correct.

As a black man trying to make things better in the U.S. you cant expect Labron to change anything in China when the powerful USA cant or willnot do anything.
If NBA hates oppression, then NBA should not make deals with China anymore. Its not about money, its beliefs and democracy that is more important. If may make them loose money , but it will elevate them and give them respect more globally that they stand against oppression.
What these guys are missing is. Ali was a boxer he has no teammates. All decisions he makes are for him. For Lebron to speak on China he would be going against the NBA comprised of over 400 players. And jeopardizing Nike that pays to endorse many college programs as well as professional athletes. The two are not comparable.
I wish more companies would take moral stances. It would be a better world. However the NBA had specifically positioned itself as one that speaks about social issues encouraging its employees and associates to do so very publicly. Many of the other companies that Chris Broussard says should be held accountable have not done this, sticking to the our primary and sole focus is making that money. Also hoping the state government will enforce some sort of consistent morality is a loosing proposition.
In regards to LeBron I am reminded of the words of a great founding father, Samuel Adams. "If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom - go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!" - Samuel Adams
The NBA got checked in public...that’s the difference between them and the other Sellout American companies. Now that people are being informed of the companies China has under the thumb, true Americans should take note and boycott ALL SELLOUT companies!
Ali is Ali, but this situation is bigger than what you are thinking. I just wish we had more backbone
Good take on the Ali/LeBron segment
If Trump meant 4 billion to the NBA, Lebron and players would worship him.
Muhammad Ali stood his ground on didn't move. He sacrificed a good portion of his prime years.
Ali = a true hero
LeBron = Mr. Shut up and dribble
No black American should rep for Asians, when he hasn't spoken for REPARATIONS.
It's truly sad ,don't want to hear no politics in my sports. I come to watch sports to get away from all of that. It's getting to the point that can't enjoy it.
Easy to have that view as a white man.
I agree with you to a certain degree.
But the athletes started (to get a bigger paycheck)
exactly couldn't agree more
@@D_Webb wut?
Rob is being short sided. Our country supported Apartheid South Africa. Rob you look silly right now.
This country supported anyone who was down with democracy and capitalism. They knew then they could control finance by rigging elections and getting people in who would do their dirty work from afar. This is poly sci 101.
Is Chris banned in the studio? Thats the real question here!
Lebron ain't in the states he pops off at the mouth and ends up stuck in China then what?
I agree, let Lebron get back to US first before asking him about his opinion on the issue
That’s WORST!!!!
Don’t throw a rock and hide your hand.
You a man, speak up NOW!!!
@@TheVilouboy So he should speak against a country whose known to give harsh responses to anyone who speaks against them and so who's going to help him get back home Trump not likely speak on it when you get home
Best segment ever. Keep up the great work guys!
More disappointing is Kerr and Popovich
Kerr more. He soft but had so much to say about TRUMP.
Ali spoke for black people only that’s why he is the greatest 😇😍
That last caller Robert. What a great call 👏👏👏
Can there be any broadcast without Chris saying Lebraaaan?? 😂
If Fox News told the odd couple to stop speaking about this China Nba issue i wonder if they would have compiled.
Well they don’t work for Fox News so
Fox news is an advocate for free speech unlike CNN. They would never tell their people to not talk about an issue. It's only when people on the Left complain that Fox tells their people to stop talking.
@@prazertv so you're saying it's not an advocate for free speech
I really respect that both Chris and Rob are truthful about their criticism, they don’t hold back regardless who it is.
I agree that these athletes should shut up and dribble because most of them don't know what they're talking about when it comes to politics and foreign policy
John Berry..... Please put these stupid uninformed rappers and entertainers on the shut up and dribble list also
@@kevinshell8392 agreed
Lebron hasnt said anything about the conlfict, because he was told to shut up and dribble, and he obliged with money signs in his eyes.
Thank you
@Luffer Booms then why he doesnt, say anything, if china is as comunist as it is, cause china told the nba to shut up and drinble
Why is this idiot with a Hispanic name want a "black" American to speak for people in China and Japan? Black Americans have political goals of their own, like REPARATIONS.
LeFraud James should stay quiet about any topics from now on
Lebron shouldn't have to be the sacrificial lamb.
The nba shud be that.
This is bigger than him. Dont toss him in that water of the NBA's dirty laundry
LeBron is just a phony who cares about his money. Wasn't afraid to talk about politics before this. Now he is supporting China who is 1000 times more abusive to its citizens.
China told him and the NBA to shut up and dribble and he did. He is a slave to China with a ball and chain on his leg.
When did Chris Broussard turn into Stephen A Broussard yelling for no reason so annoying
I'm glad at least one mainstream news organization will cover this issue when so many other companies are simply falling in line.
Smh the ignorant dribble coming CB is just disappointing. I don't even feel like getting into it
China has nothing to do with taco Tuesday so LeBron can't be bothered
Is Chris Broussard on house probation? 😁
Don't let that I'm not in the studio distract you from your the fact that I'm told Kawhi Leonard to the Lakers is a done deal
Finaly we've got some VIDEO, yabadabadoo! Glad to see Rob!
So first you criticize Lebron for speaking up. Now to criticize cause he didnt. Rob is so in love with Jordan, why dont you mention how he speaks up for nothing.
Rob finna have freshly dyed black hair come regular season. I’m ready for that.
Ali & Cap stepped up for AMERICAN issues. Not Chinese ones.
“Stand for something even if it cost you everything” Expect if it affects your bank account
China is keeping the media silent because they are not going to ask the players about the game but ask the players about their opinions on Foreign Governments Issues. Lebron won’t say anything because he know it will hurt him financially. Here in America he could talk because cause chaos makes money.
Easy to say that the NBA is soft if you're sitting on your couch at home. But if investments worth billions are at stake, bet you'd do the same as the NBA
LeBron can't say anything, he already devoted 20 minutes of Space Jam 2, the China release version, to Yao.
Steve Gallippi is this confirmed news ?
@@kalieinstein8893 no, just trying to be funny, guess not
Steve Gallippi oh . I can see how that’s funny now. Good one
But no other country has spoken up for ADOS support
Exactly! So why should we care about them? Just do business with them, let China handle its own issues.
All countries with any bit of wealth were participants or enablers of what caused ADOS. These other countries dont want to be on the hook for that invoice.
Once again, the American public expects capitalists to pick morals over profits lmao.
We can get Luka to speak for us!
Hold the NFL to the same standard as the nba
@kuroashi Sanji facts
I feel that if the NBA and it's players are going to act ignorant to the situation and be blatantly silent on the issue, then I don't want to hear their opinions about anything else regarding social justice!
Drink Me Your a fool. Drink some of that fish tank cleaner that idiots confused for the malaria medicine that they started using for the beer bug.
This has truly exposed a lot of things and a lot of people, so now we know the nba is not morally superior to the NFL what so ever and Lebron is bought and all the way paid for so now when he speaks about stuff non basketball related all I hear is Nike. He better not say another word about Politics so he needs to stfu and dribble and that’s on God
So because he doesn't speak about China. He shouldn't talk about issues addressing the society he is a part off?.
So nobody better help anybody if they can't help everybody ? This is a dumb narrative the media is playing up for ratings don't be this dumb to fall into it. China has always been a communist state. Not saying it's right but don't let the narrative make u think it's just now a problem
young foreign I’ve always known that though bro it’s about what’s been exposed in the NBA and who really run the mf show lol China tightened those vice grips on Nike and they told everybody underneath their banner to shut tf up and there biggest star said yes masa like a good little boy
@@akindele13 yes because it means he doesn't not care about social issues he cares about MONEY only reason he spoke up against issues in America is because he knew there would be no repercussions, if there was he would've never said a word about Trump or Black issues, now that there is repercussions he's as quiet as a mice.
@@HaileyLove11 so how come you and whitlock are not calling him out for not speaking bout the Amazon. Think for yourself please.
Whitlock is a Black man that has accepted being tolerated by White society. He thinks white evil is ok, because it's way its suppose to be. But how dare the Chinese do the same things white folks been doing forever.😂
Broussard and Parker both own Chinese goods, including smartphones, furnitures, and electronics. Are you gonna throw it out Broussard, and you Parker?
Lol throwing out Chinese goods wouldn’t do anything. Buying Chinese goods maybe
As a rockets fan, Morey is experiencing white privileged. Had this been a Black GM, he would’ve been fired by now. Morey coating the NBA millions fo something his MIT degree should’ve been smart enough to know the effect of tweeting and supporting something like this.
Cornell G if he was black he wouldn’t be fired...because racism
I find this kind of funny lol
Is rob parker going to boycott china?
doesn't he buy jordans every other week?
Yep all this is nigga nonsense
Rob how would lebron look speaking into China when people in his country go through things at the hands of another people race isn’t as prevalent in China they’re all Chinese and he can’t relate so why speak out
The point about Muhammed Ali is very strong. Great argument.
Ironic, Chris doesn’t name his new Disney overlords in his double standard list
This event is bigger than what appears to be. America has been divided for years. Left and right. But this is uniting the country and the world. This event actually bring people together!
Mohammed Ali didn't have the business ties Lebron has, so it was easy for him to speak up. He was the only one at loss. However, If lebron speaks up, the entire league might suffer and several companies. Unless it's a matter of life and death, he shouldn't get involved. Y'all can't expect him to jump at everything hence putting the financial future and careers of thousands of people at risk.
Just been thinking about this a little more after my initial comment. I still agree with Chris and Rob on their take. However, I can also see a little bit of the dangers of the impact this could have on the current situation. The timing of Daryl Morey was bad really bad. There are NBA players, media, and other people who are travelling with them in China. If for whatever reason China decides to put these guys in a holding cell without any notice they can and will do so. It's a sticky situation to be in and can become an escalating situation for people who are travelling over there. Comments should have been given after the preseason.
It’s all about the money with these people. I appreciate you guys talking about this and being so honest. ESPN is shitting themselves worrying about pissing off Winnie The Pooh.
Kapernick didn't sacrafice anything. The guy was sliding to irrelevance and a 2nd - 3rd string qb. He started his protest and now gets all sorts of media attention and contracts with Nike. Kapernick protests was a good financial move for him.
This is the price you pay when you do business with a country that does not like to be criticized...for those of you that think what you say doesn't have consequences...this is the cautionary tale...
It's easy for you...Mr. Parker and Mr. Broussard...to tell athletes to speak their conscience...there are no repercussions for you...
Mark my words...when...and it's just a matter of time...when an NBA superstar will speak out, the USA will find themselves in an economic conflict you could not even fathom...it will extend much further that you can possibly imagine.
Odd couple...let one of you criticize over Hong Kong, Taiwan, Tibet, South China Sea, North Korea...let us know how that goes with the Fox Network.
Well said small thinking minds can only see do far.
Let one of these radio djs/podcasters go against a sponsor. Not China but a whimsy little sponsor and theyll be removed. Do you think they use all the products they push on air? No, they stay safe while attempting to be edgy.I love how this situation is putting strictly sports heads on to the real game of global economics and power.
LOL...LBJ only took 10 days to step in it...an SJW as long as it doesn't affect his bottom line.
I think the difference between the NBA and other US companies is that the NBA and it's players are openly political where businesses are not. You can't have it both ways.
So because they don’t white ball like the NFL did to kap. Their political ? Go watch the shut up and dribble doc-series , you will see previous NBA Players were White balled ! Do Chinese people speak on black issues ? NO !
They would have appreciated it if somebody outside speaks up for them, especially if that somebody is LeBron.
This is stupid to me, why would he say anything about China? If China didn't care what Morey said, y'all wouldn't be asking LeBron to say anything! These folk really trippin. He speak on social issues all the time in America but the reaction just isn't the same. Ali didn't speak on any global issue.
@kuroashi Sanji you coulda saved your comment if you gonna just throw something at me without explaining why! Show me how I'm stupid and where I said something stupid!
I always listen when chris talks. Dude gets it and keeps it real
The nba has no choice but to leave, should’ve fired rockets GM day one smh.
Brian Hunt that was a given but at least you still had the $30 billion dollar Chinese market. Now you hint nothing but a mess
Rob Parker is on point today
In regards to LeBron I am reminded of the words of a great founding father, Samuel Adams.
"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom - go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!" - Samuel Adams
China will not be happy until the Rockets get rid of Morley
The NBA got checked in public...that’s the difference between them and the other Sellout American companies. Now that people are being informed of the companies China has under the thumb, true Americans should take note and boycott ALL SELLOUT companies!
The question is how did we get to this point?
The NBA removed fans from a Washington arena for chanting free Hong Kong 🇭🇰!!! What’s going on here ! Wake up!!!
Loving Chris broussard in this
Ali is Ali, but this situation is bigger than what you are thinking. Ali's decision only affected his teams money but this will affect everyone's money and it would have been put on LeBron's shoulder if he said anything. I just smell hypocrisy all over. Welcome to America
BTW, your show is the best! Literally
Thank you for the face cam @Rob parker
Lebron has not supported China in his comments, all he said was that people in the West should educate themselves first before making comments - which is exactly what is needed to be honest!!!!
That was the point of the tariffs
Yall love to hate LeBron but then yall want him to solve Global issues ... Stop asking Black ppl to save the world while hating us at the same time 🗣
Da Williams Fam facts 👏🏿
LeBron puts himself in that position by speaking out in the first place and making believe he cares about oppression. He doesn't care about speaking out against oppression if that oprression results in a giant paycheck from Nike.
