    As someone who’s been in the industry for many many years, keep in mind that heat pressing the shirts doesn’t just make the print smooth, it also makes the prints hyper glossy instead of the nice matte look most screen prints have. We use it pretty minimally in our shop because some customers don’t want the glossy/almost plastic look.
    We use it more as a style that people can ask for or as a way to save our asses if a print is giving us a hard time.
    Obviously, there’s nothing wrong with the glossy/plasticky look. It’s just something to keep in mind.
    Those prints look great though man! The glossy look looks dope on them!
    Keep up the great work!

    Plasticol transfer labels are the bomb, you can whip out so many at once if you print em yourself, then just use your heat press. It also doesn’t bleed and holds detail wayyyy better. Just my opinion though .

    I agree that the neck labels make a garment look more professional... but you also have to include fiber content (100% cotton, 65% rayon / 35%polyester) as well as washing instructions and county of origin. Unless the shirts contain an inside side label with this information, you're not really paying attention to the "details" and could be setting these brands up for future issues (as well as your own brand). If the garment isn't manufactured in Canada, you also can't just put "made in Canada". You'd have to put country of origin and perhaps "Printed in Canada". Not bagging on you, I love your vids... but if you're giving this information, it should be complete and correct.

    • @leestuart38
      @leestuart38  5 років тому +6

      I very much know the details, I've been doing this for years with my brands. In this case, every garment has the secondary side seam label with all the legal requirements like most blanks with tear away labels have. So in that case, the printed label can say anything you want it to and it doesn't matter. If the printed label said "made in my asshole", it's perfectly fine with the secondary label. I wasn't explaining anything about the how when it comes to printed neck labels, just the why. I'll get into that in the future.

    Great video. We also heat press our shirts and hoodies sometimes. Here is a tip if you don't know already. When you press with a teflon sheet like you currently are, it leaves a glossy finish. If you want the prints to look not glossy and what we call matte or closest to how it looks when it came off the press, take a piece of a blank shirt, cut it into a square the size of your heat press or design, lay the cotton t-shirt overtop of the design and heat press, then peel back and you'll have a super nice looking flat print that is smooth but not glossy. You might have to mess around with time and pressure to get it just right but trust me it works! -G www.KaulesScreenWorks.com
