Surely the blockchain is more resilient to a solar flare, where the same database (blockchain) is replicated across all nodes, and HD wallets or private keys can be easily backed up by writing down a sentence to a paper. Or graving it into steel. That sounds like a better backup plan for the whole ecosystem. Bitcoin (and other major cryptos) would come out as winners from a devastating solar flare.
