That wasnt Xiumin but Musical actor Kim Minseok from musical play RETURN PROMISE OF THE DAY..Part of his work while serving the military..That work is outside EXO..He auditioned and get casted as Kim Minseok not as EXOs Xiumin🙌🏻

Yes, well in case you didn't know, xiumin and D.O were together in a musical in the military. and where Lay appears speaking by call with the boys was at Xiumin's farewell. And it was one of the saddest days for ExoL 🤧
I don’t know how it is in Korea specially for artists it’s probably much harder but in Finland where we have a mandatory military service too a lot of men are very exited to go cause they grew up hearing stories from their dads and grandpas about it

Many idols and actors who enlist have opportunities to perform in military dramas and musicals. Some idols actually opt to join the military band as their service. So it's not exactly 19 months of complete isolation from activities and people whom they are familiar with.

exo members hated the military but you do get character growth and muscles so but after you wanna eat some ramen and comfort food
I feel like for Chen it's going to be big character growth tbh and that's good because he has the tendency to let other walk all over him and feel bad for the people who bully him. :/
@@antidave huh? Jongdae is kind, not a doormat. He doesn't get walked all over, and he doesn't have problems expressing his feelings. But he does care about people and doesn't want to hurt anyone if he can avoid it. I think his character is wonderful. I hope that he will be able to get away from any of the hate that some Korean EXO-L's might still be throwing at him. If you were referring to him not fighting back to this hate, as letting others not walk all over him...that ain't it. He loves his fans, and he is upset that they are/were upset, even if the reason they are upset is ridiculous. He just needs to get some peace of mind, and get his smile back. Everything else is already perfect.

It was a long wait but it’s an achievement for them too as it’s an experience that’s culturally significant for Korean men, I would think. Really proud of him and the rest of those serving (our D.O., Suho, and Chen too!). I hope everyone comes back happy and refreshed.
