    I learned all the chords, modes, extensions, everything. My teacher was the composer for the National Jazz Orchestra of Montreal and one hell of a pianist.
    I never been this mind boggled ever in any jazz harmony lesson, not even when Collier is talking. You got a seriously rare gift here.

    That was an incredibly eye-opening lesson ... and explained so clearly. I just got hip to Danae today (!) and can't wait to see & hear more.

    Amazing class. I'm a electric guitar player, but the keyboard always amuses me

      This method is even easier on guitar as the voicings are all the same, so the chord shape is also the same.

    With the first 2 progressions.. you're also following the f major scale as the root of the left hand.. where in the last scale its e minor with a sharp 6 essentially.. is that because your focusing on major chords?

    great video. However, at 5:50, it's not the Eb minor scale because there was a C note she played in that scale (instead of B)

      Well pointed out! Danae is such a jazzer that her standard for a minor scale is dorian :)))

    Alittle confused here, on the first example aren’t you technically running up an F major scale, not a C major scale? Because of the Bb in there

    • @nummeratore90
      @nummeratore90 5 років тому +4

      the C major scale is only the top voice of the chords she plays.
      These notes are harmonized as fifths, on top of minor (or major) chords, so the fourth note of the C major scale, F , becomes the fifth of a Bb chord.
