I have a collection of Mac minis dating back to the 2009, up to the latest M2 Pro model. By the way, do your Ampere IRs work on the Pulze? If so, how about the Hero Cabs?
Ah yes my old Mac. Thats just there because I have nowhere else to store it right now. Studio runs on an M1 Mac Studio which is a beast of a machine 😊 Yes, my signature IRs work on the Pulze as well. -Have an awesome day!
@@shawnmatthews5118 Very cool! I am finding that my M1 machine is still so ridiculously fast. I might upgrade in a year or so but all good for now. Are you finding a significant difference in processing speeds with the M2?
Hello ! Thanks for the demo! I tested it in rehearsal, and a big latency appeared, plugging it into a power amp and my Marshall cab. In fact, the bass of my Metal preset only kicked in at the end of the chug. The sound was very compressed, and the quality was quite poor. Would you have a solution to this please? Thanks a lot!

Hey bro. I have a LOT of products from this company and it's sisters. I will be buying more for sure. My question is a comparison of two of theirs. THIS one, and the Hotone Ampero II range. The old Amperos had no loop connections, but the new ones, and THIS unit do. That criteria is a large part of what I'm after. With the Matribox being far lower in price, how big is the drop-off in quality between the Hotone units and the effects suites in this Sonicake?
Hey dude, thats a great Q! Well, in terms of the sounds - the Ampero II range has more dsp so the amp models are higher res. Having said that, the amp models on this unit sound fantastic. I was able to dial in the tones so easily. And if you heard the isolated tracks then you'll have heard the tones that I dialed in within 10 mins of starting the unit. It was easy, fun to play, sounded fantastic. The Ampero II range has more bells and whistles in terms of routing options if thats something that you might need so thats worth thinking about because it does allow you to run dual amp rigs, scenes, etc. Plus budget, they are at different price points. So depends on needs and requirements. Hope that helps a little 🙏 Have an awesome day!
@jayguitar I wanted the effects loop mostly, Previous Ampero models didn't have it. I have a Tonex I want to route into it. I play through stand alone power amps. So I'd be more interested in learning how the rest of the effects hold up. Shootout video? Thank you for the reply bro.

Hey dude, there is a pitch shifter in the effects list. I haven't tried it though, but I do know it has a mix level built in so you could shift down half step and then mix 100%. I don't know how well it works though 🙏 Have an awesome day!
Hey dude, ah that’s my old Mac. I just keep it in the studio as I don’t have a place to store it elsewhere. I run a 2023 Mac Studio M1 in the studio since about Feb 23 and it’s fantastic. Have an awesome day!
Yes it can. You can set the cab or IR to the off position or set up the output to send the amp sound without the cab or IR. Hope that helps. Have an awesome day!
Good Q dude! Both great units. The Ampero II Stomp is more advanced in its algorithms but this unit sounds really amazing too so depends on budget and needs. Have an awesome day!
You make a good point there dude. All of these units are pretty much same level these days - and thats pretty impressive I think. Its great to have so much access to these amp models and tones. Have an awesome day!
@@jayguitar very similar, yes - digging deeper, there are some features with the Matribox II Pro that make the Valeton lineup show its age. I'm looking to replace my MG-30 since this has XLR balanced out. Plus i can use my Zoom MS-60B+ in the FX loop for more bass amps. Great video, thanks.
I bet you're not older than me, - almost 53 😊 But OMG! I still mess with Line 6 Pod floor and tube screamer + mooer boost plugged into the chain of.... that crp (can get really rockin' tones for certain close to Lynch/Jake/Takasaki style) instead to buy some cheaper beast like that (seems I love to torture myself 😊) . Could you E. G. try to dial some nice tone with crp I've mentioned and if it's not possible just to show what it would be useful for? Awesome channel anyway 🤘👌🤘Great review and performances + very friendly and not arrogant or "hanging nose high" appearance.
Lol! Just a couple years shy of your age dude 😊 🙏 I don't have a Floor POD so I can only give you some basic guides - choose the amp that you most like (Marshall, Mesa, Soldano, etc) - use your ears to dial in the perfect tone (I usually go mid heavy) - then cycle through the cabs to get the perfect match as that makes a huge difference to the tone. Tube Screamer - My usual settings are gain at 11 o'clock, tone at 11'oclock, level at 1 o'clock - works every time 😉 Hope that helps! Have an awesome day!
Oh I think it is - I would liken it to the original Ampero tone (the MP-100) but I think it is up there for sure. The Stage and Stomp and more advanced tech so they have different modelling in them. Have an awesome day!
Lots of effects, but it lacks intelligent Pich Shifter, and good quality wammy The boss, the Mx5 and the zoom in this case are more complete. Just commenting to add and the manufacturers of these pedalboards can compete and make me change my opinion
Good Q - different units and price points. The Stage is twice the price I believe but also has more functionality like the scenes and more CPU etc. Having said that, the Matribox sounds excellent and does pretty much everything most people will need it to do I think. It is nice having dual rigs and scenes on the Stage but in the studio I don't even use any of that. So, it comes down to each person's needs and budget I think 😊 Have an awesome day!
Can you use different signal paths? Can you use two amps in parallel? No. Let's just skip over that part. How about the pricing? Same number all around the world so the UK price is higher than everywhere else. Great value.... NOT. Your shilling is brilliant. You did the same rave for the Ampero. Every time you get a freebee you gloss over some shortfalls. I'd really like to see an honest review, that way I can make an informed decision. Carry on shilling. PS you play great guitar. That part is real.
Hey there, thanks so much for checking out the video. I do appreciate it. I'm glad you enjoyed the playing and I appreciate your comment. And I appreciate your heads up about not mentioning the single track effects chain. Rather than skipping over it, it was an oversight as there was much information about the unit to convey. I touched on the unit not having scenes and how it was a more basic layout than the more expensive units during the video. I feel I should correct some of the points you've made though. Firstly, I will say that I am perpetually a 'Glass Half Full...' person. That's just the way I view life. So when I do my videos, I do focus on the positives rather than searching for negatives. That said, if I do find something that is a limitation, then I mention it - like I did with the output routing and turning cabs on and off. The fact that I like the unit is actually because... well, I really like the unit! That's my genuine opinion. You might not think so, and that's ok as that's your path to walk. Your comparison to the Ampero and what I said is pretty much correct because the unit reminds me a lot of the Ampero both in functionality and sounds. Would I use the Matribox II Pro again? In a heartbeat, yes! It sounds great. I prefer using my tube amps but if I just had the Matribox on hand, then I would use it no question. Regarding the pricing - this often happens with gear that reaches the UK and Europe because of import duty and local taxes. The price is often the same number in Pound Sterling as it is in US Dollars and in Euros. This is something that you would need to take up with the governments of countries rather than UA-camrs, I'm afraid. You mentioned freebies - what you and everybody else haven't seen is that I have actually turned down 3 or 4 offers of gear and sponsored videos because I didn't think that they would work for me or my audience. So shill? Not by a long shot, my friend. I only show and talk about gear that I really do like. May I make a suggestion? The internet and UA-cam make it very easy to accuse people of being a certain way, but before you do that maybe think about really getting to know the person that you are commenting about. Those who actually know me, both in the 'real world' and on UA-cam, know that when I create videos I do it wholeheartedly and because I want to and I believe in the gear that I am showing. Again, thanks for watching and have a great day.
@@jayguitar Thanks for replying. I and am sure others look to you guys to present what is new in gear land. I like the way you are always gushing at the stuff you review. As for the glass half full view. I'm sure if people were given free stuff then they too would see the good in everything. Sadly we have to spend real money to find out the irritating aspects of new gear. All new pedals sound great. They contain the same chips inside and the amps and effects are just ones and zeros. What sets each apart is the interface and unique features. So we need to see the good and bad. Not to rag on a new device but to make an informed choice. I would hate to buy a unit that you loved in your demo only to discover a deal breaker hidden inside. Some guy who's name escapes me dismantles units and just tells it as it is. The viewer can then make up their minds. He is not up or down but mostly neutral. How about asking the guys who send you stuff why Linux software is NEVER offered? The OS inside these things is LINUX so why it is the norm to lock out a good portion of buyers. As such a good onboard interface is a must. Keep churning them out and I'll be here enjoying your content.
@@tiomkinnyborg2289 thats the great thing about youtube - different UA-camrs doing different things and showing different aspects. And thats something i encourage everybody to do - check out as many reviews as you can because different reviewers will pick up different aspect and limitations. I only came across one in my personal workflow which I shared. I get maybe 2 or 3 pieces of gear sent to me per year - the rest, I pay for with my own money so I do understand. Even so, I just have a positive outlook and make the best of gear that isn't quite up to par sometimes. That's just the way the cookie crumbles sometimes. Anyhow, have an awesome day and enjoy dude 😊🙏
Hey there! I have to respectfully disagree. Origin aside, this unit sounds fantastic, and dismissing gear solely based on where it's manufactured or its price point doesn't really help anyone. The reality is that modern manufacturing and digital processing have come a long way. Great tone is great tone, regardless of the price tag or country of origin. I've played through plenty of expensive gear that didn't impress me, and plenty of affordable gear that absolutely rocks. Plus, not everyone has the budget for high-end gear, and that's okay! What matters is that musicians can create and express themselves with the tools available to them. This unit delivers solid tones that many players will enjoy and can actually afford. I stand by my review - the Matribox II Pro sounds great and offers excellent value. If it doesn't interest you, that's cool, but let's keep the discussion focused on the actual performance of the gear rather than making assumptions. Have an awesome day!
I appreciate you checking out the video dude. I hope you enjoyed it. I should point out though that even if a video is sponsored my thoughts and opinions are always my own genuine feelings about a piece of gear. If there is something I don’t like, I do say it. I thought this was a pretty exceptional piece of gear for the price point. Now I know and understand that the internet likes to make out like every UA-camrs or influencer making videos is just singing the praises of the companies they work with, but on my channel (and many others) I think you will find that isn’t the case. Anyways, have a great day.

Lots of effects, but it lacks intelligent Pich Shifter, and good quality wammy The boss, the Mx5 and the zoom in this case are more complete. Just commenting to add and the manufacturers of these pedalboards can compete and make me change my opinion
This guy looks like a halloween costume
Its because I'm prep'ing to audition for the next Addams Family Movie 😉 👻🎃 Have an awesome day!
Matribox 2 Pro or HoTone Ampero II Stage?
Good Q - different units and price points. The Stage is twice the price I believe but also has more functionality like the scenes and more CPU etc. Having said that, the Matribox sounds excellent and does pretty much everything most people will need it to do I think. It is nice having dual rigs and scenes on the Stage but in the studio I don't even use any of that. So, it comes down to each person's needs and budget I think 😊 Have an awesome day!
People are already selling the matribox on ebay second hand.
Did you just make a joke about the Who? Yes you are getting old. So am I because i understood it. 😆
Haha! Yes I did and that's totally cool you got it bro! 😃 🤘 ANd yes I am getting old 🤣 Have an awesome day!!!
We get better with time just like wine. 😁
I made a $200 offer to sonicake and they took it. bargain yo.
Good score man! That's pretty excellent! Have an awesome day!
Cheap chinese digital fx. You get what you pay for.
@jayguitar to be honest the presets are rather muddy and the cab sims sound like the have a cloth over them.
Of course blew you away.... you get money from it
I appreciate you checking out the video dude.
@@jayguitar I understand what you say, how could you say the opposite? This is your job or at least a source of earning. Have a good day you too.
