The engine is a Subaru EA-81 built by NSI in 1993. About 100HP. It has a sweet sound and is very smooth. Warp Drive carbon 70" 3 blade prop. At 1200 RPM idle it sounds like it has a little "cam" in it. Ellison throttle body pressure carb, dry sump, dual electronic ignition and custom exhaust. Also has a 2.38 clutch type gearbox that greatly reduces vibration and increases torque. It's been very reliable for 470 hours so far. Heavier than a Rotax 912, but the parts are easy to get and inexpensive. About 4 GPH at 95 MPH cruise and 4000 RPM with 22 degree pitch.
