The door trim’s are the original ones the car was raced with.. a trimmer made then back then… I’m sure you could find something similar online now days..
There is nothing online or anywhere. I’ve been looking and asking for a year. I’m tech savvy so I’ve scoured the internet in search of only to find that the 996/997 door panel market doesn’t exist.
I’m convinced that they just need to be made. So if there is anything you could do, or any pictures from the back side you could take for me to give me an idea of how these were made I’d appreciate it. Otherwise I’m probably just gonna have to invent them.
Yes they can but it can require a lot of work depending on what country you are in. In Melbourne we have a club permit and a full registration which makes it a little easy, but for club the car has to be at least 25 years old
@@OutlawGarage cool… I was under the impression if a car was imported as a race car to Australia, then there was no chance of it becoming a road registered car.
Great to see that records are now being kept of the 1st Gen GT3 CSs that raced .
Keeping the history of these cars is so important, James is doing a great job 👏
Love it. James knowledge is great and it’s good to see these cars being preserved.
Glad you enjoyed it
996 beautiful car !!!🤙🏻🤙🏻
It’s a great Cup car 👍
Great video and effort to restore these cars.
Many thanks!
996's just look so good.. So sleak.
These 996 cup cars are very special, iconic
Who makes those door panels? What are they made out if?

Rookie question…. Can all cup cars be changed into road legal cars ? …surely not if they built/sold/imported as a race car ??

@@chrismoustrides3905 I think as soon as they hit 25 years old things change a little
@@OutlawGarage interesting… something I’ll need to look into as I’m keen to purchase my first Porsche, even just as a track car.
@@chrismoustrides3905 I also think the vin on these cars is for a road legal GT3 which again makes it easier
