    You certainly should continue your path to being a university professor! You have a natural gift for teaching. My son, ever since he was a teenager had a love for art and a natural gift for teaching. As a teen he taught art classes for kids and adults for extra money. Today he is an art professor at a university here in the States and doing very well.

    It sounds like a great plan. I studied for seven years straight for my undergrad, honours and then a two year Masters Degree in creative writing - my gift to myself for my 60th birthday. However, a few months after graduating, Covid hit, and as a clinically vulnerable adult I was housebound for the better part of two years. Since then I've struggled to get back into a routine of research, writing, etc. So my suggestion would be, as part of your plan, perhaps look at ways/videos on how graduates can keep themselves motivated once studies are over, and be able to keep a routine intact as life changes start happening. Would you consider this topic?

    Amazing new video! While I may not go into the humanities, it's great to hear your different perspective compared to most stem majors. I find that your insight into literature brings me great joy and motivates me to learn and read more, I may never be as good as you are at reading, but I'll continue to try my best even with my subpar skills.

    Robin, congrats on your achievements and future plans!! It's been inspiring to follow you over the past year or two - so much growth, both in what you've learned about literature and also about making content. I hope you enjoy at least a little time off before your next endeavor and I'm glad the UA-cam channel is here to stay. 😌📚

    I feel like I came across your videos at a much needed time in my life. I've graduated from my bachelors but have put my masters - which I absolutely want to get to in this lifetime! - on the backburner due to financial insecurity. By sheer luck I've managed to nab an office job which I hope will be able to provide some security and routine so I can continue to work towards my postgrad.
    All of this happened and then I came across your channel just as I started asking myself, "what now? How do I recover?" I feel so fatigued and drained from education (the system and institute, not the pure act of it) that this "break" feels like a blessing in disguise. How can I rebuild my stamina and realise what works for me, what I want to put my time and money into? I'm sure that all will come with time and a healthy amount of probing. And rest

    I wish I could give you a big warm tribute for this fascinating video. I, too, adore spending all my time and resources on the pursuit of literary passions! It is a passion that wells deep within me, from the nape to the uterus; it is of the earth, earthy. In fact, I would enjoy giving you a pamphlet on the secret of which I and Alexander Pushkin belonged, and which was the source of his death. Do you also, perchance, enjoy the works of Mishima? I wish to live and act like him.

If you’re interested in exploring a bit outside the literature sphere, then I highly recommend checking out the books “The Theoretical Minimum” by susskind, and “Behave” by sapolsky.

    HEY WALDUN, HOPE YOU ARE DOING GOOD. WHEN I WENT TO UNIVERSITY FOR THE FIRST TIME, I BECAME VERY OVERWHELMED. THE CURIOUS MIND I HAD EARLIER IN THOSE YEARS WENT AWAY. AND I LOST ALL MOTIVATION TO READ, WRITE AND PURSUE OTHER INTELLECTUAL INQUIRIES. I WAS HOPING THAT MAYBE YOU COULD ADDRESS THIS VERY PROBLEM. THANKS!

    • @RCWaldun
      @RCWaldun  Рік тому +7

      Hey Muhammad! Thank you for this question, and to be honest with you, it was the same for me. University, to put it simply, is not really designed as an optimal environment for learning. It's more about learning the rules for how to play the game of academia. Some people are more suited for it than others, and it's perfectly natural to feel completely overwhelmed when you head into it because it's so different from your expectations.
      It took me a little more than a year to get my bearings straight, and after learning the game of academia, it fuelled me to investigate what's wrong with it, and that motivated me to make these videos for you guys. University is not for everyone, but for certain people if you stick with your degree for a little while and overcome the initial discomfort and learn the basic academic skills (writing reports, test-taking, networking), the burning curiosity will return at some point. At that point, you can supplement your studies with extra personal reading and supercharge your academic journey.
      Hope it helped
      All the best
      Robin

    (But i feel like college is different to university, where i come from there are no colleges, so i dont know what is up with them.)
