You’re a fookin genius. I always recommend you, you keep so many important genre elements alive and bro, not to be soppy, but THANK YOU 🎉 this turned out gorgeous and so engaging. We need more passion producers and less money grabbers. All love my guy 🏆☀️
This one is really good. Whats sets it apart for me is the mix of Hi-fi crispness and crusty digital stuff. The dirt sound dirtier and the clean stuff sounds cleaner in contrast. really well done.
Pete baby, your skills are legend. you prove over and over that the old ways are better. I love the new DnB, but love the OG more. this is real Jungle.
Octamed is the sequencer. The little notes(D6 or C5) you see added into the tracker lanes trigger a sound. That may be a sound from the amiga itslef or a sound from a sampler/midi. if you follow it you can see it. The sequence is made in blocks in Octamed, so you make it 2 bars at a time, or however you set the speed of the sequencer and the block length. You join those blocks together to make a sequence, like an mpc say. Sometimes I do it all in the Amiga like this one or sometimes I'll do half and re-load it up in Renoise or Ableton. That's about it really. Big ups
@@n4records924 I watched your SOS video last night, really interesting mate. I started on a W30 and MPC 3000 years ago on the UK rave scene and progressed though the S1000, S3000, S3200 and Roland samplers making breaks, house, techno and D&B so really interesting to watch someone going back to the oldskool way of making and sequencing beats.
this is awesome! love the oldskool way of music making. OctaMED still rocks! Love the Amiga500!! :D Keep doing what u do. And thumbs up for your jungle track :)
If I patch in any of my Akai S1100 outputs it raises the mixer noise floor by like 10dB even when the sampler is not powered on. I thought I was losing my mind but someone else has the exact same issue. Did you ever notice anything like that?
bro how do you cut your amen samples? is that too secret to ask here? i can cut the samples fine but once it comes to putting it in any daw/sequencer the grid ruins my life. i need answers from the best!
Hiya mate, I chop them in the Akai or the amiga. The visuals are quite bad but the akai s1000/1100 was the first to actually have a representation of the waveform. It doesn't look like the ones on a computer and its' no where near as accurate. You end up chopping it using your ears and re triggering the sample low down the keyboard to make sure its bob on. Then it depends on the speed of Octamed and the speed of the break in the sampler. The Akai does fine cent to the 100 which while you'd think is good can be a bit of a pain in the arse as you have to again, tune it in and use your ears. The amiga has a fine cent too but its no where near as accurate as the akai. I guess just tryto make the chops tight so when they are triggered they are right on the money then tune it from there. Try chopping an accapella into 60 pieces on an akai, triggering it on the amiga and then tuning it in. That will take your afternoon ;) Anyways, good luck and thanks for listening, mate
As you can see, in the video, it's arranged in Octamed on The Amiga. It's then recorded into the mac which is essentially a glorified tape recorder. Big up
I mean, it's been 20 years now since I pressed my first one, so a few, yeah ;) This channel is N4 Records, you can get them here if you like, big ups - n4records.bandcamp.com/

Back then you could make your own tracks without 1 million options. Just plain fun with a handfull of samples and limited by your ram

A classic-sounding tune on a classic that lives forever, the Amiga.

Respect for the respect of the art.
This one’s hard!! Can’t wait to get my hands on the album!!
Would love to see a video of how you sequence this all and your work flow with Octamed 4.

I see a lot of amiga musicians using octamed 4 : why not using octamed 5, or even Octamed sound studio instead ? thanks

Hi Pete, bit of a tech question.. how do get the Amiga working with your monitor?
Probably using a converter

I love the music ..but i don't like the outlets , i.e clubs ,winebars etc , ive always been that way!
Are bouncing this to ableton and arranging there or is the master sort of dub style record?
As you can see, in the video, it's arranged in Octamed on The Amiga. It's then recorded into the mac which is essentially a glorified tape recorder. Big up
Vinyl release??

Cultural preservationist. Jungle in its truest form for all eternity. Better tools never made the form better. Thank you.
I want a mixed set of this ol' style jungle for the car.. any recommendations?
