:) at the beginning when he pulled up to the camera you could hear the solid lifter mechanical cam ticking at idle, you got to love those flat head engines. I had a 47 2A, I really miss it
There are other cj2a jeeps with wartime parts. It early 47, with bullet style parking lamps, Ford gpw transfercases were mounted, with cj2a tag, I have an example of one. In 48, for a brief while, the electrics were changed, to use the mb/gpw, voltage regulator and generator. All found on the cj2a page.
If this guy knows about 400 were so modified it would have been nice to hear the estimated serial #'s. Its interesting these came 19,000 into production and not earlier.
Just an honest question, Why do so many call them Willeeessss? It is John Willys namesake and his Sir Name is not plural. Much respect to the work you do and detail.
So it's not a rare frame, it's an original ruined MB frame to copy a rare cj frame. Maybe they should have modified a MD Juan frame to make it therefore re no loss.
The original pronunciation of "Willys" was with a short "i" sound for the 'y"; so it was pronounced "Will-iss". But it seems to have been transmuted by the same flexibility of language that could produce "Jeep" out of "GP".Aug 5, 2002 Willys Story

best soundtruck ever
Very good video on these hard to find factory modified frames. I am lucky enough to have one myself. Serial number 29245

Erick Holman the serial number range for this frame was 29000-29400. It has been discussed on the CJ2A page before
I am in Australia and wanting to buy a C J 2 A do you have any for sale Alan
So the cj2 a and mb have the same body mount location so can I put a mb tub on a cj2a chassis
So George, when did they decide to convert to a shifter on the steering column instead of the floor shifter?

Willys rhymes with 'Phyllis'.
No mention of the d23/d41 rear diff. Giving those old jeeps 3 possible driveshaft lengths...
Great

Haha funny joke
In the same vein, why they wouldn't have just used a regular CJ frame is weird
(Especially if the CJ frame is heavier duty)
11:12 So they threw away the "rare" frame then destroyed a WWII Willys MB frame to make a copy ? This is not a restoration, this is a jeep salad.
What is the VIN?
Yes, what's the cj2a serial number?
I have a 47' I'm currently working on. Was my late father's
Is this Steve in Beacon NY?
I have one. Mine is titled as a 1945. Video on my page
I thought the CJ-4 was the rarest Willys Jeep ??
Harga
Can you build me a jeep
Wrong rims, they should be solid disc and Willys is pronounced Willis
What's your source of info re pronunciation? Never heard that one before.
@@erickholman6815 It was a jeep advertisement. Will see if I can find it.

Try here. After 11:59 they say it a few times. ua-cam.com/video/u7Sle8X4EZM/v-deo.html
Solid disc would not have been used this late in production. These were 29000-29400 serial numbers
