Dr. Chief Orlando Owoh was (still is) the greatest musician I've ever known. I love his music, his unique voice, his compositions, his beats... I play his sounds daily. I LOVE HIM SO MUCH❤
I love this, Baba, to extend. I don't have tape then, but I have all his cassette or record. But I'm very happy because I met him when Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola was Lagos state governor Chief Dr Orlando owoh is playing for Prince Olagunsoye oyinlola at Okuku Day. This man is a talented man.
There are many great musician especially from Yoruba speaking Nigeria , talk about Tunde King, Ambrose Campbell, Ayinde Bakare, IK Dairo, J O Araba, Fatai Rolling Dollar, Tunde Nightingale, Fela and now Ebenezer Obey and King sunny ade. But I tell you, Chief Dr Orlando Owoh is special, how? I can’t explain.
I think even of them are special in their own ways and style. For Orlando Owoh, he is unique before his voice and philosophy, he stood out because his style is different, thank God that we have people doing his style now. There was one person Ade Wesco in Ibadan when Orlando was reigning, he sounds so much like him another one is Tayo Jimba, have you heard the 2 musians before if not let me know, thanks.
@@YommieAderin thanks for that, I know of Ade Wesco who many people taught Orlando was always abusing in his song but Orlando also confirmed that he can’t abuse Ade Wesco because he’s his younger brother, but I don’t know about the second person.
Type Tayo Jimba on youtube you will find him, thank you for being here. i will be uploading the second part of the Orlando interview soon, watch ou!t @@dayoofere8513
An excellent interview with a very versatile musician When we were very young in the early 60s we lived on the same street ar Egbatedo street with him One of his junior brother (Henry)was our senior in the secondary school at Osogbo. We have very prominent artists around us such Pa Oyin Adejobi, Pa Duro Ladipo Pa Kola Ogunmola etc All of blessed memory. Baba Orlando was very original and his music was very unique May his soul continue to rest in peace.
Yes o, I grew am in around Oke-Ola, Isale Aro area of Osogbo. Osogbo has contributed so well to the world of Art in Nigeria, like you rightly mentioned KSA was born in Osogbo, Yemi Elebuibon, Koledowo, Alhaji Ajileye and many more. God bless Osogbo.
RIP baba Kenery. With this interview and some other discussion, I strongly believe that the fight between KSA and Obey was originated as a result of Obey coming from nowhere to become decision maker in the same recording company that signed Orlando i.e Decca music. KSA is fighting Obey to defend his big brother Orlando. To me all these is bound to happen then, rivalry towards survival. For now, everyone is happy with each other as they in their old age waiting for that last minutes.
If i can make a wish to bring back a legend. It wd be no other than the Legendary Dr Stephen Oladipupo Owomoyela "Dr Orlando Owoh". All his interview videos gets me really emotional eachtime i watch them. May your Great soul continue to rest in peace sir❤️❤️🕊 I started listening to Dr Orlando Owoh from childhood with the influence of my both parents which i'm alws thankful for. And Baba is a big influence to musical journey as an artise big time. I'M HERE TODAY SUNDAY/28/JULY/2024. And will still come back again some other time. TONYKINZ Is My Name.
I sincerely don't think I love any other Local Artists ( Traditional) except for those of my dialect, like this Daddy..... Thanks God I met him once, I bought him BIG Stout and he gave me a signed copy of his live show he did abroad. I gave it the guy that introduced him to me. Femi Akinjiwan.
