@Jay Tee at night they do not need heat, it doesn't really get below 60 degrees here. But other than that we have a basking spot for him in the living room that he spends around 4 hours a day using.
@@HisGraceIsSufficient703 She stopped eating and drinking and burrowed herself. She came back up about two weeks later and kept going to her empty food bowl, so I fed her and gave her some water. She acted normal for three days, ate, drank and interacted then she burrowed herself again. She never came back up. I'm a boa and python guy so brumation isn't something I'm used to and was my biggest concern getting a b&w tegu. Allegedly pure blues don't brumate due to their natural habitat being closer to the equator but I don't know if there's any truth to that
@@scottmartin1875 oh ok mine is bigger not a hatchling but she does that will come out eat and drink bask n stay awhile then burrow again so I freaked out I don’t want mine to die so that’s why I asked u bc your comment scared me lol
@@scottmartin1875 idk if mine is trying to brumate I do notice she sleeps longer bc usually she would come out early in morning so it’s changed she will stay down longer so it’s hard to tell
This baby needs cuddles
Beautiful creature and so calm. My bearded dragon hates it when I try to help with his shed!!
Its probably not ready
He’s beautiful ❤❤❤
Ah, tegu unboxing
A wiggle worm❤
That's so cool!!
❤❤❤❤🤩❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
💜💚🥰🥰💚💜
They 100% were not ready to shed. Do not pull shed unless it is ready! its like ripping off a bandage
I had to help Fiona get hers off some
Man I love tegus! I wish I could have one but their enclosure are collosal
Mine is mostly free roam, he has an enclosure that's big enough for him to dig and sleep... but that's all he does in his enclosure.
@@xXFall4M3 how do you maintain temperatures?

@@xXFall4M3 that's really cool! Could I ask where you live? I'm in upstate NY so I'm not sure how well that would work
@Jay Tee I live in texas
I keep saying I'm going to get a high white blue from you but I lost my first tegu hatchling to brumation and I'm nervous to get another one
How do u lose them to brumation

Are blue tegus the same temperament and black and white ones?
It comes down to the individual but typically yes.
My boy had a good shed but his tail is coming off in flakes or not at all any suggestions rose city ?
Totally normal, mine do that all the time. Their body and tail can have different Shedding schedules.
@@RoseCityReptilesTX nice thanks for the response
Some of u guys don't know he is helping his lizard or something shed
I'm puzzled, what do you mean cc as I don't understand what you are trying to say in your comment. Thanks Yvonne.
