I was visiting friends at General Mills in Hannibal MO (Mark Twain’s Boyhood Home) on my return to California two weeks ago. The employees told me that they may start cutting workers hours and even terminating employment if their corporate office gives the go ahead because company profits have declined. This video confirms what they told me already. So many good workers are at real risk of losing their jobs and possibly their cars and homes because of this anemic economy! Sad.

I was taught to save a portion of my income, invest wisely...which I have been doing since 1987...and most importantly, live beneath my means. Folks today spend an insane amount of money on garbage they can't afford and either put it all on a credit card or a car loan or some other form of credit/debt. And then they bitch about not being to pay it off. They blame everyone but themselves for their idiocy. It's not that tough. Spend less, save more, invest wisely and live just a bit beneath your means.

i remember not to long ago going and getting money orders to pay my bills then being able to go to the grocery store ! buying food for my kids ! even there favorite cereal for breakfast ! i did not have food stamps ' child support and if we wanted a pizza for dinner that was ok ! did not go to bed stressed out ! did not wake up stressed out life was ok then ! now with all that is going on ! and money being tight my daughter says that she is spending 700.00 dollars on tickets to an omar apollo concert in oct ! in san diego ! for her and her friends plus food merch parking ! ect ! she is 21 by the way ! and we are not well off rich nothing like this ! this is the young generation now ! i dont know if they have a clue as to what is happening here ! and that really scares me ! as a struggling single mom ! im worried ! yeah worried !
I work for General Mills here in Murfreesboro Tn, their biggest loser is Yoplait totally flat for growth no matter what they do along with the blue buffalo crap. The biscuits, cookies especially and cereal are their bread and butter, if things weren't good they would not be expanding lines in my facility and giving us the largest raise as of yesterday anyone has ever seen there. They've only missed on cost since things continually go up for us, waste is a big one also and quality putting things on hold. We missed only in that spot by 2 million over projection at my location. We still also got a good bonus in line with previous years things are just going back to normal, plus they're coming out with a few new products that should be hitting shelves soon. People sometimes don't realize how much they own either and the products that are in their homes, avoiding one thing just to buy another.
Matt today I was doing Lyft and got two good trips. The last one took me all the way to South Beach, I drove past Washington Ave, which is a very busy street in Miami Beach from Lincoln Rd. towards 5th Ave. an stretch of about one and a half mile. It was DEAD, I mean less than 300 people altogether. Just as deserted as it becomes when a hurricane is about to hit. It was depressing. I had to drive a distance of about 20 miles back home without calls of any type and it was raining. People are simply NOT CONSUMING!😮
We just spent $1000 on new tires on our 10 year old SUV when BAM a month later we had 3 leaks in our car......that meant an additional $1800! I appreciated how fortunate we are to be able to afford these emergencies and don't take that for granted! There is still more that needs to be done but the worst of it was handled for now......

Did you know that you can take your cereal , put it in a blender with water - blend it all up. Pour it into a baggie with a magnet and you will end up with a magnet full of iron metal shavings. Now if it was gold or even silver shavings it might be worth what they are charging...but iron...no thanks.

Car repair costs have gone through the roof. Pricing people out of having a car. In California especially you need a car to go to work and/or school.
