I own a III and it is the best airplane I have ever owned. Non-stop 900 NM averaging 210 knots true on 60 gallons of fuel. That is with 2 170 lb persons and 100 lbs of bags. Install the Garmin G3x and autopilot and you have the best single engine piston plane in the world.
Seems a little optimistic.. 11:20 they claim 245 mph for a 180 hp version.. yet owners of the Glasair 3 300 hp claim 250 mph. I fly a 180hp Glasair 2 and get 190 knots, or 218mph. Still impressive but they don’t need to stretch the specs..
Can the Glasair III be set up as a 2+2 arrangement? If someone is an A&P with composite experience, could they come to the factory and help build their own components? If so, how long would it take? What are current total cost for build in 2015?
+Stephen Youngblood "Can the Glasair III be set up as a 2+2 arrangement?" One pilot said he had his wife and his son in a Glassair (on this video I think). A Glassair III with wing tip extensions should lift 4 people, but c-of-g?
And your plane have the best engines out there !!
Great video! Loved the interviews with the pilot and the owner. I really want one!

+Dukepilot At what airspeed?
Need winglets on the Glassair it would look even cooler!!
This video posted in 2014 but I think it is much older. Still to this date, there is no other homebuit that can do what this plane does overall.
Yes, the video was produced in 1996.
Glasair III fun Ap, got to build one..
I wish Glasair could produce these kits again. They only do the high wing kits now.
Kits are now available from Advanced Aero. See more: glasair-owners.com/news/advanced-aero-g2-and-g3-heritage-kits-now-available/
I just saw this. Thank you so much! My dream plane just might happen now!
Spin recovery over a Concord? Not sure many people can say they did that.

@@Justwantahover He said his girlfriend OR his little boy.
What certified plane can come even close to this performance? At this price point.
Risen 915... at half the fuel burn. Just shows what modern technology can do
