Reminds me of walking into the Officers club at Eglin AFB in 1963 - this song was playing. Thanks for the memories.
Great music for dancing. So glad i was the age to appreciate. Generations to follow have missed the joy of dancing to big band sound.
The whole arrangement is amazing but the sax solo is sheer perfection. I’m hanging on for every note, every time!

You can be right both ways : GM for the big band era, Les E. for the post WWII era. Les & Larry had the advantage of major improvements in audio technology.

I'm a big fan of the 1920's it's one of my favorite eras, and I do like the Marion version, and you may not like this instrumental version, but that doesn't mean music recorded in the 50's is garbage. There are singers in the 1950's that sing this song with much more feeling, and depth giving it a much more romantic feeling than some singers did in the 20's. Jerry Vale is a 1950's singer and he sings this song with more romantic feeling and depth than Marion's original in the 1920's. Just because a song was written in the 1920's doesn't mean that good singers years later can't sing the song just as good if not better as long as they sing the song as it was written and keep the melody true to the 1920's. ua-cam.com/video/5uUuGHR3qdw/v-deo.html

Yes that would be a good idea, especially with the Rek O Kut having the 78 speed, and all those records you have collected recently to share, Lps as well as many rare 78s.
Perhaps someone will throw in a GE VR-II cartridge for good measure, along with a tube preamp. Old records being played back on old equipment-there's a thought!
