Why all the Woman hating / bashing - When my son graduated from Parris Island I had the honor of hearing Brigadier General Lori Reynolds address us parents and families, she is awesome, if you ever get the chance to hear her speak, jump on it. These women have signed up to give their lives to provide you with the freedom to bash them on the internet. They have endured hard training, had to work hard to get to Parris Island (which if I am not mistaken is a highly desired special assignment), have to on a daily basis overcome sexist attitudes, and have EARNED the right to be called United States Marines so show a little respect.
Because you join the Corps to be a man, and only a man can make you a man. Unless life has been very kind to you as a child, some clerk on DI duty is not very useful in completing this task. marines are know as modern day Spartans and you do not build a Spartan, Zulu Warrior, or Viking with a split-tail screeching in your ear. Until a BAM (broad ass marine) can match a teen wrestler the she can go back to her desk and move paper! Its about war not "Let me have a turn playing hard" !
As a former Marine, in order for me to respond to a woman yelling, she would have to be wearing a Leather or Latex outfit, spike heeled boots and a whip in hand.
when I was in the corps I heard several marines say parris island was downright pleasant compared to there neighborhoods in new York city, cleveland, boston or Miami, and at mcrd san diego where I attended boot camp I heard people from los angeles, san Francisco, oakland, houston texas, and Chicago say thay place was heaven compared to there old hoods.ive never been to parris island,i went to san diego, but ever since 1993 when I got out ive been a trucker, and ive been to all those cities and id have to agree.on the recruit depots they yell and take you to the pit,but at least your life isn't in danger, and at least on those recruit depots you have a warm bunk and decent food!

Is there any way possible to get an age waiver approve at the age of 37 to join the Marine Reserves without prior service? Or is there anyone in the Marines an officer or someone with rank that I could submit a petition to ,for this to be consider?
When I was at PI, as a recruit, I guarded the women barracks at night (fire watch) back in 69/70. We heard that a recruit and female recruit was caught making wooppi in a dumpster. LOL.
Looked weird to me to see a Female DI. I never have laid eyes on one in person. I probably laid eyes on 4 females the entire time I was in boot camp and 3 were in Sick Bay. The only other one was in admin getting the SRB started. Not sure if that has any effect or makes any difference really.
If you can't respect a female DI in the MARINES then you shoudn't be a marine because a marine is a marine, they deserve respect. You serve your country and follow orders.
That's pretty great funny thing is I can see him doing it ha. Anyways stay motivated devil and I hope your marine corps career treats you well. Semper Fi.

These are Marines not soldiers. I promise you there is a difference. My leaders have no problem being called Marine. No officer in any other branch likes being called soldier. The screaming is vital to the training. During war you are not going to calmly ask for something or sternly gives orders. You will bark your orders to your Marines, yell for whatever you need all while gunshots, mortars and God forbid artillery is all around making any other noise almost impossible to hear. If you don't hear it right the first time there may not be a second time. The yelling from day one gets those recruits in the mindset to follow orders and be there best no matter what the stress is. If someone can't handle a little bit of yelling, how are they going to handle the utter chaos called war? It's designed to train you to think about what you have to do despite the world erupting around you. It works.
