    I really miss the training at Higaonna's Honbu Dojo in San Marcos, Calif. It was the best training I've ever had ... in any style.

    • @jonmcclelland500

      Varies depending on person. Better to have a lighter Chi-ishi to get good technique, and then build up strength.

    • @apatheticsquid5658
      @apatheticsquid5658 3 роки тому

      Depends on how big it’s been made and can also depend on how low down the handle you hold

    Where do you find those types of vases and the cement sticks? I'd like to add these to my strength training and warm up exercises.

      Hey man, our dojo makes them ourselves. The vases or nigiri game can be made for you by a clay worker or you could improvise and make them yourself out of something like a large jar. The chi ishi we make by nailing a stick to the inside of some dish that gets sacrificed, and pouring cement in. You can get the wood and cement at a hardware store. You can also change the shape depending on the dish or container you use. For example we used cans of varying sizes for cylindrical ones and bowls for flatter ones. Just look around on UA-cam and you’ll see some tutorials.

      You can also dip the self-made chi shi in rubberized paint to make them tougher and less damaging on floors etc.

    How much does each equipment weigh?

    • @PKB239
      @PKB239 Рік тому

      Around 3kg, but best to make them to ap personalized weight, where you hold the handle adjusts the leverage and hence the weight, always best to make them lighter rather than heavier till you've built up on them, you can always do more reps if necessary.

    I'm watching the sensei do exercises.
    And the students.
    The female is the worst. She is just flopping everything, instead of using proper technique.
    I'm not bashing anyone. But to wear that belt, they MUST use people technique.

      And u? Doing nothing. Go Study karate. Don't Judge others. She probably deserve her belt. He walked so long to get there. And where are you? Her sensei's are there. Your ego are not transforming you to better. But She is training to get the best of she-self. You are learning everything wrong. Its about Struggle Intuit. Everyone have your own limitations. Your limitation looks like judge insted of go training for yourself.
