There are so many amazing SoHyang performances all you can do is listen and fall in love. And you are correct with how humble she is! She is like the most delicate, most innocent, most beautiful, most intoxicating and most angelic sound of perfection. I'm a huge Sohyang fan and in my opinion she is one of the top singers in the world. Everything she sings is incredible and I think I've heard most of them, but she has one performance which is a true masterpiece. The song is 'Everyone' which she sings in a mix of her native South Korean and English. Normally I wouldn't advise using English subtitles but in this case I think it really helps understand the context of the song. It is an absolutely stunning and emotional 7 minute song which shows all the colours of her incredible voice. Sohyang's perfect control and stamina is extraordinary. She is a beautiful, humble soul and this song reflects how she chooses to live her life. No reactors list is complete without reacting to this. Welcome to the world of Sohyang! When I first discovered her, I thought nothing could top this performance. Now, it might be in my top 20 of her... Maybe. Sohyang is coming to the U.S.! She will be at the Pechanga Resort in Temecula, CA on October 28th. I don’t know why it’s not being promoted more. I only found out because I went there to see Lee Seung Gi, and there was a promotion video after his show.

You can safely take your entire family, yes your _entire_ family right down to the youngest kids and your grandparents, to a Sohyang concert and be entertained at the absolutely highest level of musical performance and not have to worry about inappropriate or evil lyrics, _or_ that Sohyang will come out on stage nearly naked like so many lesser singers who don't have one-tenth of the talent that she has. She is in our considered opinion, and I'm 65 now and have watched them all, the greatest singer and live performer of our times. She just _is!_ And she has so many of these utterly stellar and incomparable performances. I mean like there must about 20 or so that are so far above the level of every other singer and performer that I have ever seen. She has a stage magnetism that has only been equalled by people like Elvis Presley 50 years ago. After a while you compile a list of her LIVE performances that will last you for 1 1/2 to 2 hours and none of them can be beaten. She is a wonder and an excellent and decent human being, who actually refuses to sing for the major labels because she is afraid it will corrupt her spiritually. Well ! Now I can think of 8 or 9 songs in the 2015 -19 years that will match, beat or equal both songs you have heard! Some of her best are in Korean though many have Subs. But you will find you don’t need to understand the language with her , You’ll completely understand the songs message, many songs she switches language during the Performance! Since 2019 till now she has another 10-12 at least in the same category but many are done in a busking setting during the Pandemic to keep people’s morale up ! Gospel is her thing as she has a Ministry and has performed in churches and for charities in just under 60 countries ! Yet as Todd has said she is comfortable singing any genre’and likes to mix it up! She says her favourite is R & B and has done several in recent years! Her pitch is perfect , breath control Amazing , Arrangements , Stunning and she always mentions it is her and her team, not just her! Her Character is Strong, Faith is Very Strong and Heart is Huge! To me a must song to introduce you to her singing in Korean is a re-arranged 600+ year old folk song that has come to mean many things but this version is like a second National Athem about their desire someday to peacefully be again be joined by N. Korean to form Korea once again ! You feel the Pride and deep emotion as she Performs this Classic Performance! A favourite of mine, though my count of Favourites of her Performances is around 40 ! JaneFromMars playlist is good, but a couple of important suggestions: 1) for #5 (Everyone), be sure to watch the Vimeo version that has the English subtitles; you won't get the full effect of the song if you don't know what the song means. 2) Also listen to "Breathe" from the King of Masked Singer series. I think it's her prettiest ballad. 3) Finally, after you've heard everything on the list, listen to "Day Day" (also from the King of Masked Singer). It's completely different from anything else on the list, so for that reason I think it's the perfect way to conclude your exploration of Sohyang's talents. Trust me, you'll be amazed by Sohyang's versatility.
Yes, she is absolutely one of a kind. So Hyang has more polished tools in her vocal basket than any other female voice I have come across in a relatively long life of listening to singers. Oh man, u have no idea of the journey you have started, you will not be disappointed. She does her own arrangements but is very tasteful, if she thinks a cover only needs minor alterations she will only do what she can to improve it & other songs are reinterpretated to a point they they are almost unrecognisable , a little more like the one you have just seen but she will never do more than what is required just because she has the talent to do so, she will only make changes that improve or enhance that song. This woman most definitely understands ‘dynamics’, & this together with her ability to emote & tell a story through a song, off the chart vocals & her natural light & charm that emit from her make her almost impossible to take your eyes off when she’s doing her ‘thing’ , she’s absolutely mesmerising & she has not disappointed me once in the 7 years I have known about her, she blows me away time after time. IMO the best female singer on the planet today. There are many many more performances that I think are better than the 2 you have seen & I feel it’s irrelevant what you choose next because everything she does is of the same amazing quality, after that it’s just personal preference but the person that sent you the list I think has sent you the songs, along with the links in that particular order for a reason,, it maybe the order that they saw them but I think it’s fair to say that any Sohyang admirer who has gone to the lengths they have to give you all this info, for your enjoyment, & there are a few of them with these lists,I’ve seen them in the comments often, can be trusted to make sure that now you’ve stepped on the Sohyang train, following their directions will take you on the ride of your life.

Sohyang has said in an interview that this performance before Michael Bolton was the most pleasing to her personally up to that point in her career because Michael Bolton is one of her absolutely favourite singers, and because he was so effusive in his praise for her she was satisfied that she and her team could produce similarly world class songs and performances. And hey, Michael Bolton told her she was a "vocal virtuoso" after the concert and invited her to join him for the rest of his South Korean tour. How do you beat that? Well, Michael Bolton can offer to take you on an entirely new world tour making you the featured guest--and that is _exactly_ what he did! Unfortunately, or not, the two could not make their schedules match no matter how hard they tried and the tour never materialized. This was actually fairly depressing for Sohyang because she really wanted to go BIG TIME in the music business at that exact moment but everything seemed to conspire against her. Pneumonia problems would crop up and this has been a chronic problem for Sohyang. She would later recognize this as God's way of preventing her from getting caught up in the North American and European music industry that would have been destructive to her character at that time. Sohyang is humble enough and courageous enough to confess she had become so ambitious that she was an ugly person, short tempered with other people and not treating them with proper respect. I know, my jaw hit the floor when I read the interview too! Sohyang a _mean person?_ Say it ain't so! But we all have times where we are embarrassed at how we behaved and Sohyang is just a human being, like the rest of us. Two years later in 2016 Sohyang was almost ready to quit the entire music business because her health problems were so bad. So she plundered her bank account and took a trip to New York and Philadelphia. In the latter city Sohyang saw a quote from President Franklin Roosevelt where he had said in his inaugural address during the Great Depression of the 1930s that "We have nothing to fear but fear itself." This proved so inspirational for her that when she got back to South Korea she entered the "King of the Masked Singers" contest in 2017 and won it on six consecutive occasions! Still the pneumonia dogged her so badly she knew it was God's way of telling her she had to reassess why she had become a singer in the first place. And that was to sing to lift people's spirits who were going through hard times. In 2018 David Foster did eight concerts with her at Tokyo's Blue Note Club and it is thought he offered to be the producer for new recordings of her. But she had been really reconsidering her purpose in life and decided the Hollywood lifestyle was the last thing she truly wanted, and in 2020 she turned down a contract offer from Sony Music US, the 2nd largest music corporation in the world! Since then Sohyang has been resolute in her decision to stay away from the music "industry" and manage her own career for the purposes she had started it all with. I for one can't express how happy I am she has chosen the path she did because she is one of the most inspirational people I have ever come across in my entire life, and I know countless others feel exactly the same way. 👌😉💖💖💖

Sohyang has always been singing outside the mainstream and market before breaking through. Her gift in my opinion has been growing from the freedom to try, test, and experiment with anything in her arsenal and capability. God may play part in her gift but this woman has mastered what God gave her with the most diligent and humbled soul i have ever seen.
Oh yes it can get better. Her Whitney Houston covers, and "Everyone" is a master class in great singing.

I'm a huge Sohyang fan and in my opinion she is one of the top singers in the world. Everything she sings is incredible and I think I've heard most of them, but she has one performance which is a true masterpiece. The song is 'Everyone' which she sings in a mix of her native South Korean and English. Normally I wouldn't advise using English subtitles but in this case I think it really helps understand the context of the song. It is an absolutely stunning and emotional 7 minute song which shows all the colours of her incredible voice. Sohyang's perfect control and stamina is extraordinary. She is a beautiful, humble soul and this song reflects how she chooses to live her life. No reactors list is complete without reacting to this. Welcome to the world of Sohyang! When I first discovered her, I thought nothing could top this performance. Now, it might be in my top 20 of her... Maybe. I would like to recommend you react to her performing a song of her own, "Stay", on the show Begin Again which was recorded during the Covid lockdown era. A hauntingly beautiful song and performance.
Sohyang is coming to the U.S.! She will be at the Pechanga Resort in Temecula, CA on October 28th. I don’t know why it’s not being promoted more. I only found out because I went there to see Lee Seung Gi, and there was a promotion video after his show.

You can safely take your entire family, yes your _entire_ family right down to the youngest kids and your grandparents, to a Sohyang concert and be entertained at the absolutely highest level of musical performance and not have to worry about inappropriate or evil lyrics, _or_ that Sohyang will come out on stage nearly naked like so many lesser singers who don't have one-tenth of the talent that she has. She is in our considered opinion, and I'm 65 now and have watched them all, the greatest singer and live performer of our times. She just _is!_ And she has so many of these utterly stellar and incomparable performances. I mean like there must about 20 or so that are so far above the level of every other singer and performer that I have ever seen. She has a stage magnetism that has only been equalled by people like Elvis Presley 50 years ago. After a while you compile a list of her LIVE performances that will last you for 1 1/2 to 2 hours and none of them can be beaten. She is a wonder and an excellent and decent human being, who actually refuses to sing for the major labels because she is afraid it will corrupt her spiritually. When is the last time you found a human being like that? 👀🤷♂💖

Well ! Now I can think of 8 or 9 songs in the 2015 -19 years that will match, beat or equal both songs you have heard! Some of her best are in Korean though many have Subs. But you will find you don’t need to understand the language with her , You’ll completely understand the songs message, many songs she switches language during the Performance! Since 2019 till now she has another 10-12 at least in the same category but many are done in a busking setting during the Pandemic to keep people’s morale up ! Gospel is her thing as she has a Ministry and has performed in churches and for charities in just under 60 countries ! Yet as Todd has said she is comfortable singing any genre’and likes to mix it up! She says her favourite is R & B and has done several in recent years! Her pitch is perfect , breath control Amazing , Arrangements , Stunning and she always mentions it is her and her team, not just her! Her Character is Strong, Faith is Very Strong and Heart is Huge!
To me a must song to introduce you to her singing in Korean is a re-arranged 600+ year old folk song that has come to mean many things but this version is like a second National Athem about their desire someday to peacefully be again be joined by N. Korean to form Korea once again ! You feel the Pride and deep emotion as she Performs this Classic Performance! A favourite of mine, though my count of Favourites of her Performances is around 40 !

I think it's her prettiest ballad. 3) Finally, after you've heard everything on the list, listen to "Day Day" (also from the King of Masked Singer). Yes, she is absolutely one of a kind. So Hyang has more polished tools in her vocal basket than any other female voice I have come across in a relatively long life of listening to singers. Sohyang has been singing her booty off for more than two decades now, and over the years she has given us some really, really terrific English performances.
She is a storyteller at heart though, and watching her emote in her native language is really a sight to behold, trust me. Two performances that come to mind immediately, would be Arirang Alone, and Everyone. I suggest you try one of those next (be sure to grab an eng sub video for Everyone, you will NEED to have subs on this one to enjoy it in the fullest).

Oh man, u have no idea of the journey you have started, you will not be disappointed.
She does her own arrangements but is very tasteful, if she thinks a cover only needs minor alterations she will only do what she can to improve it & other songs are reinterpretated to a point they they are almost unrecognisable , a little more like the one you have just seen but she will never do more than what is required just because she has the talent to do so, she will only make changes that improve or enhance that song.
This woman most definitely understands ‘dynamics’, & this together with her ability to emote & tell a story through a song, off the chart vocals & her natural light & charm that emit from her make her almost impossible to take your eyes off when she’s doing her ‘thing’ , she’s absolutely mesmerising & she has not disappointed me once in the 7 years I have known about her, she blows me away time after time. IMO the best female singer on the planet today.
There are many many more performances that I think are better than the 2 you have seen & I feel it’s irrelevant what you choose next because everything she does is of the same amazing quality, after that it’s just personal preference but the person that sent you the list I think has sent you the songs, along with the links in that particular order for a reason,, it maybe the order that they saw them but I think it’s fair to say that any Sohyang admirer who has gone to the lengths they have to give you all this info, for your enjoyment, & there are a few of them with these lists,I’ve seen them in the comments often, can be trusted to make sure that now you’ve stepped on the Sohyang train, following their directions will take you on the ride of your life.

Sohyang has said in an interview that this performance before Michael Bolton was the most pleasing to her personally up to that point in her career because Michael Bolton is one of her absolutely favourite singers, and because he was so effusive in his praise for her she was satisfied that she and her team could produce similarly world class songs and performances. And hey, Michael Bolton told her she was a "vocal virtuoso" after the concert and invited her to join him for the rest of his South Korean tour. How do you beat that? Well, Michael Bolton can offer to take you on an entirely new world tour making you the featured guest--and that is _exactly_ what he did!
Unfortunately, or not, the two could not make their schedules match no matter how hard they tried and the tour never materialized. This was actually fairly depressing for Sohyang because she really wanted to go BIG TIME in the music business at that exact moment but everything seemed to conspire against her. Pneumonia problems would crop up and this has been a chronic problem for Sohyang. She would later recognize this as God's way of preventing her from getting caught up in the North American and European music industry that would have been destructive to her character at that time. Sohyang is humble enough and courageous enough to confess she had become so ambitious that she was an ugly person, short tempered with other people and not treating them with proper respect. I know, my jaw hit the floor when I read the interview too! Sohyang a _mean person?_ Say it ain't so! But we all have times where we are embarrassed at how we behaved and Sohyang is just a human being, like the rest of us.
Two years later in 2016 Sohyang was almost ready to quit the entire music business because her health problems were so bad. So she plundered her bank account and took a trip to New York and Philadelphia. In the latter city Sohyang saw a quote from President Franklin Roosevelt where he had said in his inaugural address during the Great Depression of the 1930s that "We have nothing to fear but fear itself." This proved so inspirational for her that when she got back to South Korea she entered the "King of the Masked Singers" contest in 2017 and won it on six consecutive occasions! Still the pneumonia dogged her so badly she knew it was God's way of telling her she had to reassess why she had become a singer in the first place. And that was to sing to lift people's spirits who were going through hard times. In 2018 David Foster did eight concerts with her at Tokyo's Blue Note Club and it is thought he offered to be the producer for new recordings of her. But she had been really reconsidering her purpose in life and decided the Hollywood lifestyle was the last thing she truly wanted, and in 2020 she turned down a contract offer from Sony Music US, the 2nd largest music corporation in the world! Since then Sohyang has been resolute in her decision to stay away from the music "industry" and manage her own career for the purposes she had started it all with. I for one can't express how happy I am she has chosen the path she did because she is one of the most inspirational people I have ever come across in my entire life, and I know countless others feel exactly the same way. 👌😉💖💖💖
