To answer your question: "Who is this lens for?" It is for me! I got a used X1D II for $5,000 less than the X2D. I also got the 45 P - also picked up an used older 3.4 90. I got the lens last week after a long serach of online retailers and even called and had the clerk go back and put his hands on it before I ordered. I did my research on this lens and it as a very advanced optical design and the new focus motors in it. But it filled a real gap for me in my needs and fills out my 7L pilot Wotansack bag - good choice by you. They are so great. But my shooting experience with this lens has been everything I could have asked for and more. Just a quality lens that delivers Hasselblad quality that didn't break my budget.
i love my 65 2.8 but it s a brick, very heavy, i would love to trade it with this one just for the weight. and all hidden new features of those new lenses
"Hasselblad" is Chinese DJI now, it is not even close to what Hasselblad used to be ! I used to arrange guided tours at the Hasselblad factory for photographers in the 1980´s and the 1990´s, at that time the service was very high ! The same thing happend for Saab and Volvo cars.
Don't hesitate to try it out! If I were to live close to their office, I would ask the people there if I can borrow the camera. And if they said no, they wouldn't be mad that you asked for it. I would be really happy if I can use one! Please tell me what happened after you borrow it😁
I had this camera and it’s incredible but feels like a smart phone and I don’t know how to describe it. Ended up going with a Leica Q2 monochrome and an M11 and I can’t believe how much more enjoyable these leicas are to shoot.
It's the lack of good tactile buttons, a joystick for quick focus point selections and - worst of all - the tilt-only screen. That makes it feel very limited and gimmicky for its size and price and in the end it's mainly a fashion statement camera. EDIT: also the menu looks very much like a 2010 smartphone UI.
@@summarity I could see why it would replace those other boring cameras. The Q2M is much more interesting than the SL3. The X2D though truly keeps you looking at the screen constantly.
If you don't own an MF system and are deciding, then hell yes they can be compared. And in my view, the improved flash sync isn't worth all the other drawbacks. Fuji GFX all the way.

It happens to 2 kg exactly, and they use it as a weight unit. I find this habit nauseating, and I'm not surprised you and others are confused. It's like they are being paid by Nikon to do it. I wish they'd run a survey asking if they should continue this strange habit or not. They think it's cutesy.
@@Paul_Rohdeit’s just a running gag, about an absurdly heavy lens. I don’t think there’s any intention to promote Nikon gear over the rest of the market when they mention the Noct.
DJI is certainly the major financial investor in Hasselblad. More than 50%. But no factual information as to whether they actually bought HB exists. Likely it’s true and it’s been reported widely as such. Some accessories are made by DJI. Attempts to have the same distributors around the world. So likely but not proven.

A 60mm f2.8 that weighs 400g is not that impressive. I've yet to see a medium format lens that is smaller or lighter than an equivalent FF lens. I used to think it is easier to make shallow DOF lenses for larger sensor systems but seems like FF is the sweet spot.
your argument makes no sense because making a lens that resolves 100 megapixels requires more quality glass. stop comparing everything to full frame the world does not revolve around full frame.

hasselblad is in a very uncomfortable position. we are a kind of mf leica seems not to work as hoped and the pro market is in the hand of fuji. the p line is clearly the product of market research and not based on technical considerations.
You mentioned mirror shock. The body has a mirror? Wouldn't sensor shock be a be a better phrase? (Wording the phrase to what is affected, rather than to the cause, which would have been shutter shock anyhow in what was being talked about here.)
If Hasselblad's target market was price-sensitive, then they'd have gone out of business. Instead, they push out a body that's more expensive than the last, with a line of eye-wateringly expensive lenses, and...their revenue goes through the roof. Don't believe me? Look up their balance sheets. Hasselblad does *not* try to compete with Fuji on price. They tried that early on with the X1Dii, then gave up trying to compete on price. Because they *can't.* Fuji will always be able to sell bodies and lenses at a lower cost while remaining profitable. They've gone in the other direction, pitched themselves as a premium luxury product akin to Leica, and have had great success with it. They don't give a fuck about Fujifilm's market share. Take this lens. Yeah, it's one of their "less expensive" lenses. It's still **$2,300.** The majority of GFX lenses are less expensive. You suggest they're "forced" to reduce the price to compete with GFX. Please tell me, how does this lens achieve that?
It's great to see the lads back to doing sensible, even-handed reviews such as this one. "It's a nice lens, but who needs it?" (my summary) is something that should be said more often in photo reviewer circles about a LOT of products. Sure, there are people who will find a use for it... but if it didn't exist, they'd probably have no trouble filling their needs with something else.
Can someone explain modern street photography to me? Every channel with great photographers and excellent cameras seem to get "generic guy on a corner", "rusty chainlink fence", "woman eating pretzel", "old fire hydrant", "chipped-pain wall", "neon sign", they all look super random.
I had this lens in about a week and I really do love it. Extremely sharp and I cannot see any CA at all. It is a joy to use and it really is light weight and very much portable too...

I did the same, went with GFX/Leica M eco system. Yet the GFX is far ahead
Keep in mind this is a leaf shutter lens. For some reason no one is talking about it. Cannot be compared to Fuji G mount lenses.
Thank you for saying this, they are in an extremely different family of lens

Why they chose leaf shutters for a « portable » MF ? Who’s going to use this for studio
Could you create a tutorial-style video about the disadvantages of using UV or protection filters, even on expensive lenses?
