She wouldn't be "lucky" to qualify to the next because she's one of the best and her time has came, and coco and sabelanka has been having battles since 2019 to which coco has been winning a couple of them. GIVE COCO CREDIT

Coco has a big heart!! She was on the edge of either winning or losing that match but she won, especially in front of a big crowd. She is a true winner.

Clash of the Titans for real. They were going blow for blow. What I like about Coco is she is learning not to get caught up in a long rally. Though it would be aesthetically pleasing for the spectators she would want to conserve her energy and get that point as quickly as possible. So proud.
It's actually so wild seeing Svitolina play a more aggressive, power game compared to most of her opponents in her comeback.
I remember when she would yell after hitting her shots, and they'd barely move with any speed, but now its warranted with how hard shes hitting.

Agree. But I would add that hitting it hard back into the middle of the court doesn't do as much as hitting hard into the open court.

I don’t think they can because they don’t have the rights to post them. Normally ESPN and the US open UA-cam channel have the rights.
I don't even care if they don't post full matches, I just wish they'd have more cohesive highlight packages. It's so frustrating when they show a player earning a break point but then don't actually show the outcome of that game, or skip to midway through the second set where one of the players is about to go up a double break (like they did here). TennisTV match highlights are shorter than WTA highlights on average, but they tell a much better story.
Svitolina hardly loses in finals but she lost this one. Another unique feature, most players would lose a match (often in 2 sets) when they squander leads in first set like Gauff did, but she had the fortitude to recompose herself and win it. Strong mentally and always restrategizing.

Elina said herself that she had very difficult first three rounds in this tournament and that she played the semifinal like there was no tomorrow. With more physical freshness she might have won against Coco today.
I'm happy that Svitolina lost. When he doesn't shake hands with his opponents...this is the right punishment

Hi, Coco played really well and congrats. However, I am concerned about her weight gain, no shame intended, just concern. Excessive weight gain can slow down her mobility.

Gauff would be very tough to beat once she makes her serves become more potent. She's probably the best mover and fastest women's player on tour right now.
I would say Iga is faster and has better defence than Gauff.
The WTA has no speed, I’m 16 and play high school football and I’m much faster than Coco

Nuh. Iga is the fastest woman on tour. Coco has more stamina, Iga has amazing foot speed. I also think Coco needs to really start developing a much2 more offensive game. She's playing too much defence right now. Her game is too predictable especially among the top players.

Huge congratulations to Coco Gauff! It was really a sensational final encounter which was contended between Gauff and Svitolina. It was never easy to come back from the break advantage of Gauff. Elina has forced Coco till the boundaries of the court and compelling her capacity but it wasn't adequate to dismantle stable American star in this final clash in accordance with the movement. It was significant to attain the first WTA title for Gauff in the beginning of 2024 before AO.
That first set was the best hitting along with power strokes I've ever seen from Svitolina. And I follow tennis insanely. She probably would've beaten anyone else that day.........but congrads to Gauf.

it wasnt equal fight, even tho Svitolina over played, Gauff dominated all the 3 sets, but doing 3 double fault at 5-3 and 1 unforced errors didnt help to make it a quick win

She has been in the public eye since she emerged as a remarkable 12-year-old junior in 2016, and the focus on her since has found her always in the spotlight till she established herself on the WTA tour as a serious talent. Who has ever hated Coco?? Besides being a great tennis player, she is an extremely likeable person who appears to have the respect of everyone in the game. Who are these haters???

This match was worth staying up past 1:30am to watch… of course what made it better was Coco winning, but Svitolina is the truth and has been for a long time I love her game, she’s hitting the ball with a lot of power, so glad it was those 2 who battled it out in the finals.

@@DanTony68 Coco double fault alot and made loads of unforce errors, plus her service was not consistent. Elina played well but Coco waa on a different level, weather she had days to recover would make no difference. People aways looking for excuse, especially when it comes to playing Coco.

Yep agree, to me looks much, much harder. I think she realized coming back as purely a pusher after maternity leave wouldn’t be enough.
Gauff didn’t play that well but her athleticism and perseverance paid off.

That girl can play some tennis. She is improving. Scary thought for her opponents. Convincingly defeating Svitolina, who has been playing inspired tennis, is a terrific gauge of Coco's game. This AO should be fabulous!
If she can do this to Elina, just imagine against Iga this time around. She needed this test. But before Coco meets Iga (hope it works out that way); I want Coco to personally "thank" Kenin for lighting a fire under her after that early Wimbledon exit last year.

TERRIBLE highlights. What's the point of showing us Coco's double fault in the second set (which ended up being irrelevant), but not showing the decisive break in the final set that won her the match? Also, why did the first set take up over half the video's runtime? The poor quality of these highlight videos (especially when compared to ATP's TennisTV) makes following the WTA a worse experience
The first set was very exciting and deserved the time given but I sure the 2nd and 3rd sets were just as exciting. So WTA need to show longer highlights. We hardly saw anything of the third set. WTA should have definitely shown the break in the 3rd set.
