So many cards are far over 10$ you skip to the side. I was so surprised sometimes!
What a insane collection. Would love to find something like this. But chances are 0% 😅
When I sort, it needs to be a "this will sell for over $10 in a few weeks maximum" sort of deal, so sometimes things can get skipped over.
I think if you establish relationships with people and do business over years, some things open up that you wouldn't know is possible :)
From my perspective, 10k is an insanely good deal for all of this. I think tipping them a couple of extra thousand would be honorable (that way they can use that to upgrade their PC). Even that seems like a really good deal but I can only imagine the amount of labor it is going to take to recycle the funds back into the business. You are also doing them a favor at the end of the day. Anyways, this was a blast to watch and there are so many singles here I’d love to pick up. Cheers!
Yeah, it goes both ways, listing and sorting 5000+ cards does take some significant time.

Tbh this collection is worth closer to 14/15k a lot of those sealed cards go for more in any condition like the sealed maji charmeleon I would have paid like 12k for everything so you for sure came up your friend could have made a whole lot more selling the top 200 cards and everything else in bulk. Many of the world pikas and promos along with the random zards in lots so many different ways to go about it but tbh I think he could have got more on eBay taking pictures of the biggest cards all lates out. But his loss your come up great job
Sometimes easier said than done, but usually if you buy a lot in bulk it should be at a better value 😉
Yeah but it’s money tied up…time spent sorting waiting for sellers…storing said cards…9.5 was about right

people forget you pay sales tax, income tax, the ebay fee, the calculated returns and at the end of the day you need to put the hours in to earn some net income from it.

I can't get over how someone was collecting like 30k in cards over the years without sorting or sleeving them. There were so many cards way over 100$ worth, i mean how lazy can someone be?😂 great Pickup Steve, you easily get that 10k... had to laugh at the beginning you putting away the Giovanni which sits now at least at 50$, almost any S&M Teainer is above 10$ these days...
Haha, well.. These cards weren't always expensive, at one point they were very cheap actually, that's probably why they are just in a box sitting

How do you organize your cards once they are listed? I imagine it must be difficult finding certain cards that have sold when you have to search through as many as you have!

Steve , I watched entire 55mins. you can count 1 pile of 50 and grab stack and try balance height and estimate about 50 each if you don't wanna count lol
haha yeah, i usually do that, but when they are all mixed in sleeves i just needed to count them :P, the piles wont be the same if they are in weird sleeves, toploaded ect

Absolutely wild. Did they live in Japan? I have so many similar cards, you could find them at every single second hand shop for super cheap pre 2020. I am glad I brought home a bunch, but nothing near as many as this.

What's the hard part about listing? is it that you have to judge take pictures or the manual process of uploading to ebay?
just the whole process of inventorising, scanning, checking condition ect

This is disgusting btw, I would throw 10k his way in a heartbeat, like right away and then throw a party (lel). After the party I'd price them all out, see what can be graded (some of these are 100% worth) and so on, then see what I can give him over that 10k. Lucky you!

Not much to be graded, this is all the stuff he DIDN'T want to grade, since the low price, lots of edgewear/micro dents on the good cards ect.
